Cody poked his head through the classroom door and saw Noah sitting at his desk.
"There he goes again." Trent rolled his eyes.
Noah was writing in his notebook.
"Imagine all the things he could do to me with that pen..." Cody said with a creepy smile.
Harold and Trent made eye contact.
Cody made a weird noise. "Look at the way he moves it on the paper..."
"Come on, buddy. Class is about to start." They pushed him inside.
During class, Cody would continue to stare at his crush.
At one point, Noah let out a yawn.
"He can open his mouth pretty wide..." Cody said quietly, earning an eye roll from Harold who was sitting next to him
....
During lunch, Cody and his friends were in line getting food.
"There's your man." Trent motioned at Noah who was sitting by himself.
"Do you guys think it's a red flag that he doesn't have friends or a green flag that he's careful about who he hangs out with?" Cody asked seriously.
"We don't know if the latter is the case." Harold reminded him.
"Well, guys probably don't like him because he outshines them..."
"Yeah, I don't think that's it." Trent let him know.
"Why don't we sit next to him?" Harold suggested.
"Are you crazy? You know damn well I have no filter." Cody reminded them.
"Yeah, imagine his reaction..." Trent smirked.
"Don't do this." Cody pleaded quietly but his friends just dragged him.
Trent sat next to Noah, Harold sat across from him and Cody sat across from Trent.
Noah slowly looked up at them.
Cody stared at him with wide eyes.
"Let me guess... all the other seats were taken." Noah said sarcastically as there was lots of empty places.
"Sure." Trent shrugged.
"You don't mind, right?" Harold asked.
"Be my guest." Noah said nonchalantly.
Cody was trying his best to hold back from saying anything.
"How come you don't have any friends? Too much of a loser?" Harold wondered.
"I don't think loser is the right word. It's my preference." Noah explained.
"Anti-social." Trent guessed.
"Well, technically not, but I suppose you could say that." Noah shrugged.
"So what are you always scribbling down on your notebook? Definitely not studying, right?" Trent asked.
"It's my diary." Noah answered casually.
They were kind of surprised that he just admit that.
"What kinda stuff do you write in it?" Harold wondered.
"It's private." Noah said simply.
"Right, that should have been obvious." Trent agreed.
"It just seems kinda gay to have a diary." Harold said without thinking.
