[Side Story 9]

Coco was colouring on the floor while a cartoon played on the TV.

Cody was on the couch, watching the cartoon.

Noah walked over with a tray of 3 cups.

He bent down and gave the cute pink one to Coco before going to the couch and passing the cute blue one to Cody. He put the tray on the table and grabbed the plain black one for himself.

"Dad, look, I drew us!" Coco sat up and showed them the picture.

It was a cute family photo of the 3 of them and a dog.

"Is that your stuffed pony next to you?" Noah asked.

"No, this is Pancake."

"Who's Pancake?" Cody asked.

"Our dog." She said casually.

"Uh, we don't have a dog." Noah told her.

"Not yet."

Cody and Noah eyed each other.

"Do you want a dog, Coco?" Noah asked her.

"No."

Noah raised an eyebrow. "You don't ?"

"No, I already have Pancake."

"But-" Noah started.

"When will Pancake come?" Cody asked.

"Christmas." Coco said casually.

Cody nodded and looked at Noah smugly.

Noah sighed a bit. "It is a good thing you and Coco speak the same language."

"Yeah, I'm kinda a child at heart." Cody shrugged.

"Really? I didn't notice." Noah said sarcastically.

"Anyway, what kinda dog should we get?" Cody asked.

"Obviously, Coco will decide." Noah told him.

"I really want a beagle." Cody said.

"Of course you do." Noah said casually.

"I wanna name him Cooper."

Noah looked up at him.

"I mean- we'll obviously call him Pancake, but..."

"Dogs are a lot of work. All 3 of us will have to help take care of it." Noah told him.

"Sure, you can clean after him, Coco will feed him, and I'll play with him." Cody said excitedly.

Noah glared at him.

"I'm kidding..." Cody said nervously.

Suddenly someone knocked on the door.

"I'll get it!" Coco ran excitedly.

Noah and Cody followed.

Coco opened the door to Trent.

"Uncle Trent!" She cheered, raising her arms for a hug.

He smiled and held her up. "Hi, Princess."

She snuggled him. "Did you come to play with me?"

"Of course. We have to finish the last game we started."

"Yay!" Coco cheered.

"Hey, Trent, what's up?" Cody asked.

Trent put Coco down. "Why don't you go set it up and I'll be there in a bit?"

"Okay!" She agreed and ran inside.
