Morocco technically didn't call Heatwave a donut but it surely felt like it was implied.
Due to the amount of parts Heatwave has in his frame, he has this hollowed out spot that had nothing internal and just had his outer coating metal frame in front of it all. With this, he technically is a donut, a weirdly shaped metallic one.
The scientists did notice this but couldn't really explain it but even with it, the bots were also confused as they still haven't been given an explanation to what a donut is and were investigating what it could be.
This investigation even went on during their escape with Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, which those two not only questioned the purpose of but agreed that they had no idea what a donut was. Luckily, Cody and Frankie did but with the timing, there wasn't much to give except a decent explanation so they could actually get back home.
Cody and Frankie simply told them it was pizza dough that was fried and iced with cake frosting. Both children knew that this wasn't fully the case at all but it shut them all up, which allowed them to focus on the task at hand of getting back home.
