It is All Sparks Day, after a long and fun day, something else arises.

"You better have had a good reason to call me out here in the middle of the night." Heatwave says as he finally finds himself aboard the ship. "I have an early patrol tomorrow and I was really hoping to get in some personal time."
"It won't take long." High Tide says. "Something you want to fuel on?"
"No, Boulder made me lose my appetite." Heatwave says, which High Tide only gives a look of concern. "Tried to flavour energon."
"That's unfortunate." He responds, seemingly shocked Boulder could even do such a thing to energon. "There's a package for you."
Heatwave was handed a relatively small box, one stickered with the bold letters that indicated to be careful with what he held in his hands. He carefully opened it, finding a nice little intricate decor made of glass. Within the glass was a Safroniale Bowestra, looking to be very alive as it had small holes keeping it stable.
"Oh." Heatwave was always going to be mesmerized by it, after all, it was indeed very beautiful. It was very distracting, but it didn't stop him from completely thinking. "Wait-"
"Heatwave."
"High Tide."
There is a moment of silence, Heatwave knowing he has to speak first.
"I've said it before and I'll say it again." Heatwave really wished this was a dream, a strange and very weird dream. "No."
"Heatwave, just let me-"
"No, I don't want to hear it." Heatwave exclaims, really not wanting to hear it. "Listen, I don't understand what you think will make me change my mind because I can guarantee that my answer isn't going to change."
"And why is that?" High Tide questions.
"Why don't I list them?!" Heatwave was hoping this would shut him down. "Firstly, you look like you are running old as if you are in your fifties. Then you have the fact that I have been trying to tell you no and you just can't accept it. Lastly, I am technically a minor."
"You're still a minor? I thought that would be first." High Tide admits, a little shocked and very offended. "I ain't fifty though, my human years are thirty-three."
"Yeah and I'm twenty-three, and yet you still prove my point that you're old." Heatwave says. "Regardless of your magical age, my answer is still no."
"Why are you turning me down?"
"Did you not hear the list I just gave you?" Heatwave says, annoyed. "Do you just drink away my no's thinking you'll get a yes or something?!"
"I don't drink high grade, it isn't even allowed on this ship." High Tide points out to him. "Are you just afraid to actually try and go out on a date?"
"YES!" Heatwave did not intend to be as loud as he was but it definitely seemed to get the message through.
"What-"
"I had a terrible life, stuck in a room where I found out I was abandoned and the only one who ever cared for me left me to suffer. It took so long for someone to get me out of there but that was actually the least of my problems!" Heatwave was starting to rant. "I eventually came out of my shell, even got myself out there but the one time I tried to make it right, my life slowly got destroyed again. I found one, lost them, all by the same sociopath who thought I couldn't have anything. I have been cheated on again and again to the point that I give up."
High Tide was absolutely speechless, not having a single word to say but Heatwave wasn't finished.
"I can't go through it again. You can tell me you won't do it but that doesn't make you any different from the rest, ok? All that has happened to me, even now as I have finally found myself trying for once, I don't want it all to disappear." Heatwav seemed out of breath. "I don't want
Heatwave could feel it, the single tear shed that tried to fall down before he ended up wiping it away. He felt so broken, enough to have him sob but yet he still stood there frozen in space, not doing anything.
"Heatwave-"
"This was a mistake." He blurts out, knowing he should've left before all of this. "I should go."
Before Heatwave could even make it to the edge of the boat to leave, he was stopped. Looking back, he noticed High Tide's servo, holding his, using zero strength to hold him back and instead being somewhat gentle. Heatwave could've easily pulled away but something told him not to, deciding to hear him out.
"I'll wait, be slow if you want." High Tide says, seemingly calm. "Just give me one, that's all I ask. One time and if you don't like it then I won't ask again."
Heatwave stayed still, thinking about what he heard.
"You said it yourself, you are still piecing yourself together and I support that." He explains. "You still have the burning jealousy of seeing everyone happy but not yourself and yet you still chose to wait. I will wait with you but all I ask is one. One chance, please."
He was right, he was jealous. He had watched Chase and Blades be happy for so long it made him question how he could be so lonely and unhappy. It hurt, but not going for this one chance could make that same hurt never go away, despite how much he feels he shouldn't try.
"Fine, one chance." Heatwave says, slipping away so he can leave. "Ok?"
"Thank you." High Tide responds.
Then he left, no other words said as the night stayed with a brief bit of warmth.
