So obviously Heatwave and Blades grew up together, basically being brothers in a way. All the bots knew this and from randomly talking about it, Cody found out too.
It eventually got to the point that something had to be explained to the humans, which led to the quick explanation on how Heatwave managed to basically become an 'adoptive brother' in a way. They really never went too in depth upon how Heatwave ended up there in the first place, Blades had simply worded that there had been a certain situation with Heatwave's family life.
The humans learned a lot that day, and surprisingly didn't ask more about the bots and their family lives before they came to earth. In the long run, Woodrow ended up learning much more about their unique culture too during his time as Charlie had been out off the island.
Yet, as Chief returned, he felt as if something really strange happened while he was gone. Eventually they told him to, and so, everything was alright.
