I woke up to Lando shaking me like crazy. And the next thing I heard was Daxie whimpering like crazy.

"Dax?" I said as I moved the covers and saw her paw. "Where's her bandage?" I said. It must have completely slipped off in the night. "Shit. That looks like an infection" I said while looking at her paw.

"We've gotta get her to a vet right now" Lando said as he threw on some clothes and took Daxie from my arms. I quickly put on a hoodie & some shorts and we ran to the car. They told us that she had a bad infection and we would have to not only give her a painkiller pill each day but we also had to inject her with medication for the infection every day. Daxie was limping on her bandaged paw and it made me wanna cry. We got back to his parents house and Daxie was sitting on the bed with us.

"Are they mouth or ass ones?" I asked.

"Mouth" he said as he opened her mouth and tried to get her to swallow it but she couldn't. "Try again, Daxie" he said as he tried to get her to swallow again but nothing. Lando went downstairs and found some chicken that he wrapped the pill in. He gave it to her and she ate the chicken but still managed to avoid the pill. "Oh come on. This is fucking ridiculous" he said while trying to get her to swallow it again but nothing.

"Fucks sake, Daxie" I said. I looked at Lando and he gave me the look. We were gonna have to shove it down her throat. Lando held her down and I put it in her mouth and held it shut while rubbing her throat to try and get it down. It finally went down but Daxie was not happy at all. She went and sat at the opposite side of the bed and refused to look at us. I picked her up and put her on my lap. "Come on, Dax. You know we only did that to help you" I said. I was absolutely dreading the next morning where we would have to do this again and inject her because not only will she be even more grumpy but if there's one thing you should know about me it's that I hate needles with a passion. I'm fine with tattoos and piercings but the second it's a medical needle; I can't deal with it.

We had to wake up early the next morning so we could go to Australia for the next race. We wanted to spend a bit of time in Australia before the race so we went early but we had to give Daxie all her medication before we could even leave Lando's parents house. We decided to do the injection first so the painkillers would help with the pain of the needle. I held Daxie down and Lando grabbed her leg. I couldn't look. I kissed Daxie's head a couple times and Lando put the needle in her leg and injected all the medication into her leg. I couldn't help but cry when I heard Daxie whimpering. It was the worst thing ever. Lando opened her mouth and forced the pill down her throat and then she immediately hid under the covers once she escaped from my arms. I could see how much Daxie was shaking from under the covers.

"Lan... she's terrified" I said. Lando pulled the covers back and we could see her trembling like crazy. Lando picked her up in his arms and held her to his chest. She was still shaking for ages. We had to stroke her for ages until she calmed down. We finally got to the private plane and Daxie immediately hid under my hoodie when I sat down. The flight to Australia was going to be at least a day which meant we were gonna have to give Daxie her injection and meds on the plane. She was like my little baby. It pained me each time I heard her in pain. We managed to get ourselves through injecting her and giving her meds to her after like 20 hours and I was still cuddling Daxie to calm her down. We were meant to do that for another 2 weeks. I didn't know if I could handle doing that for another 2 weeks. I was never letting Daxie go near another glass again.
