Ch 41-- Purgatory

A/N: Listen I know the last chapter was kind of shit and I will rewrite it at some point, but I was having major writers block, hence why I didn't upload for over a month between chapters. This one is better tho <3

Alastor

None of us spent another second waiting as we jumped through the portal that led straight into the gluttony ring. We quickly changed back to our normal forms, and I finally felt right again. I'd gotten used to my demon body, and being back in human form was strange.

And as we stood in gluttony, I could feel a sense of dread set in, I noticed that there wasn't just a portal from earth to hell, the rings had been opened similarly. Not many demons crossed through the portals, and those who did, did so simply out of curiosity.

"What is going on?" Stolas asked in shock as we walked towards a portal leading into pride.

"They're everywhere." Charlie agreed, looking at the many portals around. We continued to walk through Pride, searching for where this Oni could have gone, and even if there was only one portal to earth from hell, there were so many portals open in hell, it would be almost impossible to locate the oni when it could travel rings in a matter of seconds as opposed to the hour it usually took to travel to even the deepest ring of hell, sloth.

Lucifer's gaze traveled over the sight before him, and I could see the anger growing in his gaze, but he remained silent.

I knew that he was already annoyed that there was disorginization within his domain, even more so that there was an oni.

But the fact that his beloved daughter had been stolen from him.

He was a whole different beast now.

And I had to admit, I was angry, but I was mostly worried for her safety.

Lucifer was just angry, as though he had total confidence he could get her back, only that whatever or whoever took her definitely wouldn't survive the night. We followed the king, and those in his way quickly scampered off, it wasn't hard to see that Lucifer was slowly loosing control of his anger, at this point, the only thing keeping him sane was Lilith's hands wrapped around his arm.

I felt Charlie grab my arm, clearly wanting some other form of comfort. Vaggie already held her opposing hand and had one arm around Charlie's waist, but it seemed as though she wanted more. I let out a soft sigh, I knew whatever was coming wouldn't be good. It was only a matter of time before it revealed itself, I just hoped that we were ready for it.

When we neared the southern end of the pentagram, it seemed our luck had run out. Because the closer we got to the southern castle the stronger and the more suffocating magical aura became.

I'd never sensed an aura like this, even Lucifer's seemed to be light work compared to this one, and I quickly realized why.

On the street, Kelsey had Melinoë cuffed and gagged with holy chains. She fought violently to get free, but the most concerning thing was the infinite amount of black vapors radiating from creatures around him.

So these are Oni? I questioned internally, it was the first time I'd seen them.

They looked to be human, although they had many violet eyes like spiders and curled horns on top of their heads. Their skin was gray, darkening as it moved down towards their hands and other extremities

Their hands and forearms were so dark it was hard to see where exactly they were and what motions they were making to attack amidst the black vapors. It only took about three seconds flat for everyone on our side to get angry, even Lilith's eyes betrayed a demonic red color, and I wondered if for once, I'd see her use her magic.
