When you and Al walked inside, you immediately felt eyes on you. Via and Loona had taken up the space behind you when Loona's phone suddenly buzzed. "Sorry." She apologized before quickly texting someone and turning off her phone. Via giggled at the action, and you did too before following Alastor through the massive building.
"Can you feel them staring?" you asked him in a calm voice.
He nodded and let out a breath, "Yes, but I can't tell where exactly they are." he responded quietly.
You let out a breath, your anxiety rising again.
Via was a novice at best with her powers. Stolas had recently been doubling down on her to teach her how to properly use the magic of the stars now that Stella was out of his feathers, but she still had a long way to go. The most magic she knew were a few teleportation spells and defense spells. Her only attack methods were those you and Lucifer had shown her with weapons in hand, and the only weapon you could give her was either a majecite blade or a blessed sword. The holy weapons were significantly harder to handle, due to their weight.
If something happened, you and Alastor would be responsible for Via and Loona. Loona had proven that she could fight, however, you didn't know what the extent of that was.
"If we're being honest, I don't think it's a demon," Alastor said suddenly, his gaze growing weary as he pulled you closer to him. He wrapped a protective arm around your body, almost like he was ready to fight at any given moment.
"What else could it possibly be? Not many sinners ever bother coming down to greed." Loona spoke up.
"Can't you feel how different the magic is?" Alastor asked the wolfhound.
Loona let out a breath.
"Of course I noticed, but it's not uncommon that new types of magic come around." She countered, sniffing the air a bit. "Though... You have a point. It feels a lot weirder than most magics do-" Loona broke off as something ran into her and made her stumble to the side. Alastor perked up, attempting to locate the demon.
"The fuck?" Loona snapped, annoyed at the assault.
"I don't know how to explain it, it's already pitch black, but it's like there's something darker moving in here," Via spoke up suddenly, coming to the other side of Alastor.
"I can't see a thing." You responded, clutching to Alastor.
"Neither can I, those two are the only ones who can see anything." Alastor referred to Loona and Via.
You felt the wind hit your side and you jumped a bit.
I can't figure out where it is. You realized suddenly.
How could you fight something you couldn't locate? It made no noise and was invisible, the only thing that gave its presence away was its physical attacks and the bad vibes it was radiating. Just as Alastor was about to attack it while it was still close, a familiar figure appeared in the darkness.
"Dad?" Via exclaimed.
"There's not time to explain, Mel, we must go find your father. All of you, out, now." Stolas ordered, ushering the group back toward the door.
"Stolas-"
"Hush." He cut you off before you could say anything else.
In another few moments, Stolas had gotten all four of you back out of the building and in the open.
"What was that? You clearly know." Alastor demanded immediately.
Stolas briefly looked around and addressed Alastors irritation in a calm tone. "I understand your concern but this is neither the time nor place. We don't need wandering eyes or ears." Stolas urged softly. "So for right now, we calmly walk away and act like nothing happened."
