"Are you out of your fucking mind?!" You snarled at Stolas.

"Mel, we can't afford to have an Oni wandering the universe with angelic magic at its disposal."

"I will not kill my father, and I'll not hear another word of it!" You roared, causing Alastor to intervene as he set a hand on your shoulder to calm you. "Nothing is set in stone yet; if Stolas is correct, there's more than likely a way to force the Oni to release his body," Alastor soothed, pulling you away from Stolas as you clutched Ambrose to your chest.

How dare Stolas even suggest such an idea.

You should tear his head off for even thinking of it.

"Alastor, I'm asking you to take the amulet, right now, the power to open the rune is within it," Stolas said, unbothered by your outburst, "and, if I'm correct, Lucifer probably won't see any of us as his family, meaning he won't hesitate to attack. You'll need all the help you can get," Stolas said, urging Alastor to go through with it.

You started to speak again when Alastor put his hand over your mouth, turning your face to his instead of Stolas'.

"I promise we will do everything in our power to refrain from killing him. As far as we know, he could be just fine, but we won't know unless we check," Alastor said softly, keeping your attention on him. Your anger slowly started to fade as you gazed into his eyes. You let out a slow breath through your nose and leaned your face into his touch, prompting him to pull you closer to him as he managed to soothe your rage.

He held your forehead against his, then placed a kiss there as he released you. A deep sigh left your chest, and you turned to the case bound by magic where the amulet resided. The seal was broken with a slight wave of the hand and a few words uttered internally. Stolas didn't hesitate to reach inside and grab the amulet. He handed it to Alastor, and the group was again on their way.

The air was slightly tense on the trek back up to the main level of the castle. Stolas knew he was walking on thin ice, and Alastor didn't care. You ignored both of them as you settled Ambrose again for a nap. With the knowledge that the protection spell was in place and working as intended, you felt confident leaving him with Marlowe.

Once he was down, you returned to Alastor's side as you, Via, and Stolas made your way out into the city. The four of you ignored the many gazes as you moved. You held Alastor's hand as you walked to the center of the Pentagram, where you'd fallen last time the rune had been opened up.

You took a deep breath as you and Via stepped away from Alastor. Once you were in the city square, he placed the amulet around his neck. Almost instantly, the white light from the magic inside seemed to swallow him whole as the magic was transferred to his body. You held onto Via's hand and held your breath, hoping with everything in you that nothing bad would happen.

A few more moments passed, and then the light faded, and in its wake stood Alastor. Now, he bore a double set of red and white wings, and his hair had a few blonde streaks in it. not to mention his skin seemed lighter.

"It seems Lucifer's magic had more than just a psychological effect on you," Stolas said as you took in Alastor's new appearance. His luxurious, shiny, feathery wings were almost as grand as your father's.

It was like the amulet had tried to turn Alastor into Lucifer.

"Do you feel okay?" you asked Alastor, taking his hand in yours. You noticed his hand trembled slightly, and his palm felt clammy, but he claimed he was fine. You noticed a few demons around closing in, and you knew they likely sensed Alastor's wavering aura. You didn't want them to try to take advantage of him while he was adjusting to the new magic in his veins.
