All the talk had been about Malachi and Dax in the days that followed Malachi's engagement, as it should be.

News had spread, Malachi had been seen with you, Lucifer, and Alastor multiple times in public, looking at dresses, decorations, and such. The press was a riot for it, they didn't know who Malachi was other than a face that was usually at the coronations with you.

Now she was suddenly always with the royal family. Someone had even caught a picture of her hugging Lucifer with the two of them smiling brightly. Another had been taken right after when he placed a kiss on the top of her forehead with Lilith smiling at them in the background.

The media was roaring over it, nobody knew what was happening. You found it highly amusing whenever a new magazine or article came to your attention.

Some demons speculated Lucifer had suddenly become Polyamorous, some speculated an adoption. Others had come up with some even wilder theories than that too great to recall. Most of the news was positive or just downright hysterical, likely intended that way. After all, this is the king they are talking about.

But some reporters were green with jealousy or downright angry about it.

So you and Malachi had recently taken to making fun of it, making tiktoks that included Lucifer or just the two of you doing something stupid over a sound. It only infuriated them further.

However, that came with consequences, as all actions do.

You had been out with Malachi when someone had attacked the two of you before you had gotten a chance to react.

From what you knew, Malachi had taken care of the situation after you'd been knocked unconscious by the impact. The explosion had carried you across the street and thrown you into a light-pole. Malachi had avoided the worst of it and quickly dealt with the man who'd attempted to kill the two of you.

Malachi had brought you back to the castle and informed Lucifer, who'd been furious. It took you two days to come out of your concussion. When you'd woken, Alastor had been laying beside you, his head resting on your shoulder.

At first, you didn't realize it was him, or even remember what had happened. But when Malachi came in to check on you, she giggled. "He's been by your side since he found out. He's worried himself to death." She smiled, approaching and placing a hand on his bicep. Alastor never stirred in his sleep.

"We told him it was only a concussion, but he still hates the fact that you got hurt." She smiled, sitting on the edge of the bed. Your eyes softened as you gazed at your sleeping boyfriend.

His lush lips were slightly parted and his almost silent breathing tickled the skin on your chest. Alastors long lashes fluttered the tiniest bit as he dreamt on your chest. "You had a few cuts, but Lucifer was able to take care of those for you." Malachi sighed, still informing you of what had happened.

"Lilith was worried about you." She said suddenly. You couldn't help but scoff.

"Don't patronize me." You snorted, drawing a hand down Alastor's back. "She was. She's been checking on you regularly." Malachi countered, as if on cue, the door opened, revealing Lucifer. His eyes immediately went to Alastor and a soft smile crossed his face.

You laid a dark wing over Al's upper half as Lucifer went to turn on a light. Al remained unbothered by the light underneath the protection of your wing.

"He's either dead or asleep, either way, I don't have the heart to move him." You giggled at your father, he reciprocated your laugh. "How are you feeling?" Lucifer asked with a smile.

"I'm okay. Tired of laying around." you took a deep breath, bringing Alastor from his snooze. He let out a dramatic sigh, gaining everyone's attention. "Would it kill you to sleep like a normal person for once?" he brought his blood red eyes up to meet your violet ones. You lifted your wing, exposing him to the dim light of the room.

"You do this every damn day. I can't remember the last time I slept all night." he huffed.

"I don't get up that early." you protested.

"You wake up at four thirty every morning!" Al shit back sharply, making you and the other two chuckle. "Six is acceptable, anything before that is just cruel."

"Well this isn't America Al, cruel and unusual punishment isn't illegal here." Malachi smiled at him. Reluctantly Alastor sat up and let your wings swing over the side of the bed. "Remember who the minority is Malachi." he sighed, standing to leave. "It is currently one in the morning, and I have had a rather eventful day. I'm going to bed. You idiots can stay up all night if you want, but I'm going to bed." He snorted as he left, you giggled a bit at his statement.

"Not a morning person is he?" Malachi giggled.

"Not at four A.M." Lucifer snorted, turning to follow. "Go to sleep girls." With that, he was gone.

You turned to Malachi. "Are you nervous?" You asked softly.

"I'm terrified. It's no doubt that people are going to hear about the wedding since it's at the castle. What if someone tries to pull the same stunt they pulled that put you in here?" Malachi fretted, nervously twisting the ring on her finger.

"Mal we would never let someone do that, and if someone did, dad would be furious." You assured her, placing a soft hand on hers

"I know, but I don't want to be a bother to him, especially after all he's done for us." Malachi said sensitively. You smiled at her, knowing she only had good intentions.

"You're not a bother to him, just understand that daddy has your back under any circumstance."

"Did Via tell you that she's seeing someone?" Malachi asked suddenly as the thought came to her mind.

"No!" You said in sheer shock, your voice deepening the slightest bit.

"She hasn't told me his name, Lucifer is the only one who knows."

I can not believe she didn't tell me. You thought internally, unable to fathom why she wouldn't.

But then you realized you had been unconscious for about a week and chose not to say much about it. "On a side note, Kelsey is supposed to show up tomorrow." Malachi giggled, making you smile.

"You better not be fucking with me." You warned, tossing a threatening glance in her direction. She only smiled in response, he'll be here tomorrow- er, I guess later today." Malachi giggled as you sat up in bed. "You should probably go to bed though. You need to rest." Malachi sighed, marking the end of the gossip.

"I've spent the last four days resting." You returned sharply.

"Mel, you know what I mean." Malachi returned, making you sigh. "I know." You breathed, finally standing to return to your room. "Goodnight, I love you." Mal smiled at you. "I love you too, goodnight."

When you reached your room, Alastor was asleep in the bed. You said nothing as you stripped down to nothing but underwear and slipped underneath him. He briefly woke as you moved to get comfortable beneath him, but soon fell asleep as you got comfortable with his weight over your back.

You bent your left leg and Alastor drug his hand over your side and pulled you as close as physically possible, to the point he was almost completely covering your body. Slowly, you grew more drowsy and eventually passed out beneath Alastor.

Morning came all too soon, and for once, Alastor was awake before you. Silently scrolling through his phone while one arm remained beneath your head and your body laying on his. He noticed you were awake and set his phone down.

"Come on my uncle is here!" You said excitedly.

Alastor gave you a confused look.

"The Disciples?" Alastor asked, confused as to why you'd be excited about it. You rolled your eyes. "Not my actual uncle. Michael would never fathom such an idea." You giggled, getting out of bed to hurriedly get dressed. You appeared in record time

Alastor watched with an amused glance as you prepared for the day. "Kelsey, King of the Southern end of the Pentagram. He and daddy are literally best friends, trust me, you'll love them."

A/N sorry short chapter, its only 1,300 words. Usually they're between 5,000 and 10,000 but I just wanted to put something out so I don't get back into the habit of only uploading once every millennium
