Ch 21 - I Think That He Knows

Some of you bitches are reading these chapters as soon as they come out and not voting. You're not giving the radio demon the popularity he deserves, I'd say it would be wise as to not provoke him, but that's just me🤷‍♀️

Before you knew it, the wedding was upon you. Lucifer, despite your protests, had taken you to a doctor to see how far along you were. and they estimated around seven weeks, which meant you had been pregnant since May.

Your anxiety was getting the better of you and you had voiced your concerns to your father. Your's and Via's coronation was around the corner, and you would no doubt be showing by then.

The thought of Val and Seviathan finding out had terrified you. You knew that the two idiots would attempt to do something to your unborn child, or even wait until it was born and wait until they thought you had forgotten. Much less, after the press conference at Charlie's coronation, the topic of you getting intimate and possibly pregnant had been addressed, so most of the public was aware.

Suddenly a tap on your shoulder made you turn, Eridah stood behind you. "Are you ready?" She asked softly, pulling your long black and white hair over your shoulder. You nodded and smiled for Malachi's sake, you meant it when you said you didn't want to ruin her day.

"Yeah, let's go." you smiled, following Eridah into the room where your dress had been stored while your mother made alterations. Whether Lucifer had told your mother or not, you had no idea, but she had let your dress out a bit around your pelvis. You had talked with her extensively and were almost positive she would say something about it if she knew, but you also knew your dad didn't do well under her pressure.

He loved her too much to lie to her. If she pressured him, even a little bit, he would likely cave. However, you were next on his list of favorites, so maybe he could do it for you.

So as you slipped your dress on, Lilith gave it one last look over and smiled at you in the mirror.

"I don't tell you this enough Mel," she began softly with a smile, a bit shocked by the tenderness in her words, you felt vulnurable "You are so beautiful, easily the finest creation your father and I have ever made."

For a moment, you suspected an underlying self-compliment, but when you looked into her eyes, you saw nothing but admiration for yourself. Unable to think of anything to say, you turned and wrapped your mother in a firm hug Hiding your face in her chest, you breathed in her familiar smell. Lilith was shocked, to say the least, she didn't know what to do for a moment, you almost never showed affection for each other. But after she got over her shock, she wrapped her arms around you and placed a hand on your head, allowing you to hold her for a moment.

The door opened as your dad leaned in to check on you, he smiled at what he saw and exchanged a look with Lilith, she smiled at him and he winked at her before leaving once more. After another minute or two, Lilith released you and placed a hand on your cheek. "I really am proud of you Mel, and I love you very much." her words tugged at the strings of your heart and caused a few tears to break. Lilith quickly caught them with a soft smile. "Hush, your makeup will run." while her words were stern, they were full of love. "I love you to mom." you breathed, taking a few breaths to calm yourself. A soft knock made you and Lilith turn, "Come in," Lilith answered.

Alastor stood in the doorway, looking fine in a suit the two of you had chosen a few weeks ago at your insistence. He noticed your teary eyes and grew concerned, "Are you okay love?" he asked softly as you pulled away from your mother. "I'm fine." you assured him with a bright smile, Lilith returned the smile and then went back to her work, "Hurry up you two, don't dawdle."

Without another word said, Alastor led you out of the room with you on his arm. Laughter caught your attention as Hayden and Arthur ran past you up the stairs. You and Alastor chuckled a bit as they ran past. "I assume Kelsey and Athena are here?" you smiled up at him. He returned the grin, "Yes, they got here a few minutes ago." Alastor smiled at you, slipping his hand down your side. When his fingers played with the jewels on the side of your dress opposite to him, you tensed a bit, unable to stop the thoughts from racing through your head.
