"Hey honey.."
"Uhh yeah?"She quickly responded as she tried to tie her shoe. Her mother stared down at her as she slightly stumbled into the room.
"Oh honey please be careful,"she said worriedly as she buttoned up her suit.
"Im fine, mom." She looked at her giving her mom an annoyed face.
"I know you're enjoying your time on my business trip here in San Francisco but I need you to go join your dad and brother in Washington."
"You want me to go to the reservation already," she said with an offended tone.
"Now Vera you know what I mean. They need help moving some things. You know? ......Decor."
"Really? Your sending me down there already to move some furniture?"
"N-No but I got a call this morning and the office wants me to stay here a bit longer and I dont want you to miss more time there than you already are sweetie." Her mom insisted as she grabbed her earings. "Jesus I don't even know why you guys decided to move there. Didn't dad live there or was it Uncle Sam ?"
"Yeah still is but your dad thinks we'll enjoy a new scenery hun." Vera got up from her seat as she held onto the wall for support. "You okay there?"
"Yes...just got a little light-headed thats all."She insisted as she headed to the bathroom.
"Did you take your meds?"
"VITAMINS!" She "corrected" her mom as she closed the door. "Sorry I mean "Vitamins","she air quoted. "DID YOU?"
"YES MOM!"
She stepped out of the bathroom as she sat back onto the hotel bed. Her mom walked up to her as she held her cheek.
"You're looking a little pale."
Vera swiftly took her mom's hands away from her face. "Im fine."
"Sorry."
"If I'm going down to the reservation.....Can I take my car?"She pleaded with her hands. Her mom stood quiet for a second before responding. "Fine.."
"YESS!" "BUT...You need to be careful." "PROMISE!" Vera slowly got up grabbing her belongings.
"Before you go Vera your dad and I need to tell you and your brother something important." "Y-Your not having another kid, right?" "GOD NO." She laughed at her mother's reaction as she stepped forward. "No just.... we'll tell you when I'm done with my trip." She nodded as she kissed her mom on the cheek. "Love you."
"Love you too....BE CAREFUL!"She yelled out to her daughter as she heading towards her car.
