"Are you sure I should wear a dress? It's gonna be cold outside!" —"Yes Vera! Plus there might be cute single guys!" I turned to face Violet as I raised my eyebrows. "Too soon?" "Yeah," I whispered lowly as I continued moving the rack of clothes.

"Well I'm excited for Aria's gender reveal!!"

"Yeah me too I'm like 100% sure it's a boy," I said pulling out a dress. "Mmm noo it's so a girl!" "Fine let's bet on it," I quickly added as I smirked.
"What do you say.... maybe like 5 bucks?" "VIOLET! THAT'S nothing.." "Sorry! You're such a gambler!" "Let's bet 150."

"150?!!" "Yes. 150 it'll be fun!" I turned as I could hear Violet's giggle. "Deal Vera, but if you lose you also owe me a girls night out! Also you should definitely try that dress on!" "You think it's a little.....tight looking?" "Please I've worn worse." I chuckled as she pushed me into the dressing room.

Pulling the curtains open I stepped out as I held onto my sides. "OMG YOU LOOK SO GOOD!" "Really? You don't think its much?"
"No! —Plus you don't even need to wear a bra!" I smiled as I turned to face the mirror. "I guess so, well what about you?"

"I think I already have the perfect outfit at home." "Serious?! I thought the whole idea of going dress shopping was to buy you a dress!"
"Well yeah....But I also wanted to get you out of the house and distract you from all of this," she motioned towards me as I pulled a strand of hair out of my face.

"Thanks.....Well now that this is done let's go home."

"Did you girls find what you were looking for?" I turned to face my mom as I smiled. "Yup I helped Vera find the perfect dress!"

"How cute! Did you also get a dress, Violet?" "Nope but I have the perfect one at home!" "I know Vera told me you moved here hows it going?"
"Its actually been great I mean my whole parents stuff got complicated but I found great people here," Violet said smiling as she looked at me.

"So nice to hear! I'm gonna let you girls get to what you were doing." "See you around ma'am!!!" "Oh you make me feel so old!"
We both laughed as we entered my room. "Im so tired," I gasped as I fell onto my bed. "Vera we were only out for like 2 hours!"

"Yeah 2 very long hours!"

I hugged my pillow as I watched Violet walk up to my window. "Jesus its cold in here, your windows open." I opened my eyes as I watched her slam the window shut and lock the top.

 "O-Oh I just leave it open sometimes." "Well you shouldn't you could get sick!" I rolled my eyes as if I wasn't already. "OMG! Are you gonna plant tulips?!!"

I quickly shot my head up as I watched her hold a bag of seeds. "I-I was going to. Jacob got them for me." "Oh. s-sorry!" "It's fine." I snuggled against my pillows as I reached for my blanket. I could feel Violet's staring as I shut my eyes knowing I was going to regret my next few words.

"Yes Violet what are you thinking?"

I heard as her footsteps got closer. "Well it's been like a little over a month since you guys broke up —and you never told me why."
I slowly sat upright as I held onto my blanket. "Well..I ended things but it was complicated." "Complicated?"

I hesitated as I held my breath. "I lied to him and more than about one thing. I was getting in the way of his happiness." I felt my voice crack as I closed my eyes finally breathing in.

"Did you tell him about....?" I shook my head no. "Vera. You know he would be more than understanding he still loves you."
I felt a tear roll down, "I know and thats what hurts I'm still this burden to him."
