Vera Elle Volant  (Filler Chapter)

Im standing here frozen in front of her house. Its so quiet to the point I can hear my heart beating through my chest. 

13 HOURS EARLIER.........

"Ok before we get out of the car and go in, whatever happens I'll side with you." 

I looked over at Jacob as he parked in front of his childhood house.

"I doubt anything will happen but ok," I said lowly as I reached for the door handle. I slowly walked towards him as he was already at the door. 

I stood behind him nervously as I felt him grab onto my hand interlocking our fingers. He smiled at me placing a swift kiss on my forehead. I could hear Rachel yell, "Coming!"

The door began slowly opening as she looked up at us. "O-Oh hey Jake.....and Vera?" 

"Yeah Veras' with me." We walked in as Jacob slightly pulled me with him. "Hey Rachel," I quickly whispered making eye contact with her. She slightly smiled as she closed the door.

 We came to a stop as Jacob sat down on the couch. He patted the seat next to him as I stared at him. "I think I'm actually gonna go talk to her." He lifted his eyebrow as he looked over at Rachel. 

"Be back,"I said walking away. 

I watched as Rachel sat in the dinning room resting her head on the chair. I slightly knocked on the door frame as she turned her head my way. "Hey." 

"Hi, can I?" She nodded as she pointed to the chair in front of her. I sat down as I cleared my throat. "Its been awhile.. I-I actually wanted to talk to you about something important to me."

 "I do too. Can I go first?"

 "Sure."

"After I talked to you I truly thought I was doing Jacob a favor, I thought I was protecting him from getting hurt in some way. But I realized I was the one being selfish. I was trying to protect myself from other things and for that 'Im really sorry Vera. I messed up."

I nodded as I grabbed my hand pinching it just to make sure this wasn't some dream. She was actually apologizing.

"You and Jacob deserve to be happy no matter what, and I guess not even I can get in the way of that." I slightly smiled as she leaned forward. 

"Yeah. For awhile I've been constantly letting others dictate what I do, but I need to live my life no matter what. Even if it means some people might get hurt in the process." 

"W-Wait.... Are you not....?"

 "I am! Well... I'm going to try, but I recently found out the only person/people that can help me are my secret siblings." "Secret siblings?"

 "You know Aria and Mattheo?" 

She nodded as her eyes suddenly widened realized. "SHUT UP!" I nodded as she gasped in realization. "How did we not realize?!!! You guys literally have the same last name!" 

"Yeah I guess we never got to talk about our full names to each other."

She let out a small chuckle as I did too. I could feel the mood shift as instead of the usual hostile environment it was more welcoming and fun. "Did Jacob get the chance to show you around his new place?"
