You were taking your break, chatting with Mei-rin about miscellaneous stuff while she swept the floors. You looked away for a split second before you heard a shriek come from the red head. You barely caught a glimpse of the furry creature dashing across the kitchen.
Oh, great...
You yellped and hopped up on the counter with Mei-rin, "Since when has there been rats here?!" You exclaimed.
Finny and Bard rushed into the kitchen, "What's wrong?" Finny asked in a panic.
"It sounded like a cat being strangled in here! What happened?!" Bard asked, his cigarette dangling from between his lips.
"Rat! There's a bloody rat!" Mei-rin said, pointing to where the rat had hidden.
"Will everyone please stop shouting? You'll alarm the customers." Came Sebastian's voice as he entered the kitchen, "What's the fuss now?"
You pointed towards the stove where the rat was hiding, "There's a rat in here!"
Sebastian sighs, "Yes, there's been an issue throughout the city. Rumors say multiple restaurants have already been closed due to the recent infestation." You watched as he casually walked over to the stove and lifted it, grabbing the furry thing before it could run off. "No need to fret, we won't be getting shut down today." He simply tossed the rat out the window and brushed off his hands.
You sighed and hopped down from the counter, helping Mei-rin down. Sebastian chuckled and smiled down at you, "Mx. (Name), I wasn't aware you were afraid of rats."
You gave him an awkward smile, "Well, not domesticated ones. A wild one bit me one time and I got crazy sick, though."
Sebastian raised a brow, "What did you do to agitate it?"
You shrugged, "I was five and wanted to touch the strange fuzzy thing on the ground is all."
Sebastian chuckled, "Well, I suggest not petting these 'fuzzy things'. Who knows what deseases they carry." He pats your head as if you were a child, "Besides, we wouldn't want our employees getting sick."
You furrowed your brows, "Hey, I'm not five anymore!" You exclaimed, your cheeks red from embarrassment.

"It went that way!" Bard exclaimed as you chaised a rat around tbe café.
Finny was wearing a pair of cat ears and paws, having suggested that he might he able to scare the rats out. Mei-rin waved a broom while you gripped a net.
"Get back here, you gremlin!" You shouted as you jumped, missing the rat and knocking the wind out of you.
You watched as the others ran off into the kitchen after the fuzzy thing. You sat up and sighed, letting yourself catch your breath. You stood up, holding onto a table as you set aside your net.
"I see the others have roped you in on their shenanigans." You heard Ciel's voice from behind you.
You jumped and looked down at the eyepatch-wearing kid, "Oh, hey boss." Ciel hummed and sat at the table you were leaning on. You sit across from him and raise a brow, "Where's Sebastian? I'm used to him being with you."
"Running an erand for me." He said simply, placing his cane aside.
"Ah..." The two of you sat in silence for a moment before you spoke up, "So... is Sebastian actually your butler?"
Ciel raised a brow, "Hm?"
"Well, some cafés have people act like maids and butlers to appeal to customers." You rest your chin in your palm, "Everyone here calls you 'lord' or 'young master'. Is it all an act or...?"
Ciel twirled a ring on his finger around, "Yes, they are."
"So does that make me a servant?"
"No, you're a waiter." He leaned back in his chair.
You furrow my brows, "Then if everyone here's a butler or maid, what am I, majority hire?"
For the first time you saw Ciel crack a smile. He breathed a laugh, "We simply needed more employees. You were one of the only people to apply."
"What about the other people?" You asked, shifting a bit.
"They didn't qualify."
You looked confused. You had been hired with basically no job experience, while others who probably did have experience... didn't qualify.
"You look confused." Ciel said, crossing his legs.
You sighed and looked down, "I sorta am..." you looked back up at him, "Why did I qualify?"
Ciel shrugged and stood up, "That's a question Sebastian will have to answer. He's the one who convinced me."
You furrow your brows. Well hell, that didn't help! Still, you stood up, "Have a nice evening, boss. I'm uh... gonna head out now."
"Yes, have a safe walk home."
You watched as he walked back up to his office. More questions formed in your head. You sighed before turning... and promptly bumping into someone. You looked up, seeing Sebastian.
"Oh, Mx. (Name), are you leaving for the evening?" He asked with a warm smile.
You step back a bit, "Y-Yeah..." you say, unable to stop yourself from stuttering.
Sebastian chuckled, "You look flustered. Is everything alright?"
You sighed before nodding, deciding to keep all your confusion to yourself, "Yeah, I'm fine. It's been a long day is all."
"I see." He places a hand on your shoulder, "Do get plenty of rest tonight." He leans down towards your ear.
"Curiosity killed the cat, (Name)."
You felt a layer of goosebumps run over your skin as he whispered in your ear. "What do you..."
He was gone. How had he... You furrowed your brows and snatched your coat from the coat rack, slipping it on.
You were tired...
