The cafe had been closed for the holidays, giving you and your coworkers a much needed break. That didn't stop you from going to a Christmas party Elizabeth was throwing at the cafe, much to Ciel's annoyance. Sebastian had made treats and hot cocoa with the help of Tanaka. Everyone wore Santa hats, Lizzie having convinced Ciel to wear one as well.
You all sat around a table, chatting and playing games. Sebastian served drinks and cookies, occasionally chiming in with conversations or making teasing remarks when he saw fit. Eventually Elizabeth hopped up.
"It's time to open presents!" She exclaimed with a bright smile. Paula was setting up many boxes on free table, each wrapped in colorful paper and ribbon.
Everyone looked surprised, and Mei-rin said what everyone must've been thinking, "We was s'posed to bring presents?"
Elizabeth giggled at everyone's surprised expressions, "Oh, no! I brought presents for everyone!"
A few sighs sounded about the room and everyone relaxed. Elizabeth began passing around boxes, each person getting an assigned color of wrapping paper. Elizabeth bounced excitedly on her toes, waiting impatiently for everyone to open their gifts.
Mei-rin was the first to open hers, receiving a beautiful necklace with a red ruby pendant and a matching pair of earrings. Mei-rin's eyes glimmered as she moved the necklace from side to side.
"Oh, Lady Elizabeth!" Mei-rin hugged Lizzie tight, smiling brightly as they shared a laugh.
Up next was Finny, who received a large fluffy dog plush. He gasped and hugged it, "Oh my goodness!"
Elizabeth laughed, her eyes shining, "I see how much you love Pluto and thought it suited you."
Finny smiled brightly, "Thank you, my lady!"
Bardroy was up next, opening up his present to see a box of expensive cigars and a cigar cutter. Bard chuckled and picked up the cutter with a grin.
"Well I'll be damned. Thanks, my lady."
Ciel was next, opening up his gift to find a coffee mug that read "World's ok-est boss." You couldn't help but snort and break down into laughter, covering your mouth. Finny and Mei-rin were giggling together and Bard was just straight up laughing. Sebastian cracked a smile, his eyes crinkling.
Ciel frowned after reading the mug and looked up at everyone, "Hilarious." He said, setting the mug aside.
Lizzie giggled and hugged her arms around him, "I saw it and thought it would be a funny thing to get you! Do you like it?"
Despite his initial annoyance, Ciel's expression visibly softened. A ghost of a smile spread across his lips and he picked up the mug again, looking it over, "I suppose it is quite funny. Thank you, Lizzie."
Lizzie's eyes glimmered and she gave him a tight squeeze, "I'm so happy you like it."
You and your coworkers let out a playful series of "Awe"s, which made Ciel's cheeks burn red.
"Shut up or you're all fired."
Elizabeth laughed and looked up at Sebastian, "It's your turn, Sebastian!"
Sebastian hummed in response and opened up his gift. He paused before reaching into the box and taking out a pendant with princess cut diamonds in the shape of a little black cat. Sebastian smiled warmly and looked up at Elizabeth.
Lizzie smiled back, "I know how much you liked cats so I wanted to get you something cat related! It's cute, right?"
Sebastian chuckled and pinned the cat to his coat, "It's adorable, my lady. I'll wear it as much as I can."
