What to Expect When Expecting in an Omegaverse: Minsung

The First Day.

CW!! This part contains descriptions of male breast-feeding! It takes a few hours following surgery for Jisung to regain feeling in his lower body again. He'd been in and out of sleep throughout the process of the drugs wearing off and he didn't get to spend much time with Minhee. They let him see her for a few minutes while he was in recovery, but he was too drowsy from the sedative he'd been given prior to the surgery to stay awake and hold her. He ended up falling and staying asleep for a few hours.

It's looks to still be early in the morning when Jisung wakes up fully, finally without too much fogginess in his brain to stay awake. His body feels heavy and weak, but he's not in any pain. He was probably given pain medication intravenously while he was out, which explains a lot of the drowsiness too.

The staff must've moved him into the postnatal ward while he was asleep, because he doesn't recognize where he is. He does recognize a familiar alpha though, sleeping on the couch against the wall in the hospital room. He's covered in a thin hospital blanket with his head rested on an equally as poor-quality pillow. Minho seems to be completely unconscious because he's as still as a rock.

Immediately next to the alpha, beside the couch and kept close to him, is a bassinet on a set of wheels. Jisung can see a small swaddle and an even smaller head with a pink-striped hat. The omega feels his legs become restless and tingle with the need to go to her. For a moment, he starts to toss his blanket off of his body to stand up on his own, but he catches himself and thinks better of it. He shouldn't get up on his own until his doctor gives him the green light; he did just have major abdominal surgery and all.

"Hyung," Jisung calls out to the sleeping alpha quietly, so as not to startle him or Minhee, and he honestly expects for the older to not respond, because Minho can be hard to wake up at times. Instead, the older man is immediately startling awake as if he'd only been in a light sleep.

"Sung," Minho is calling when he sees that the omega is awake. He's getting onto his feet and walking over to the younger's bed, "You're awake. Do you feel okay?" The alpha asks as he settles at Jisung's bedside, pushing the younger's dark hair back with his hand.

"I'm okay. Can I see her? Is she asleep?" Jisung can barely focus on chatting about his condition when his eyes are peeking past the alpha for a glimpse at their daughter. He doesn't register the soft smile on the older's lips until he chuckles. "Please, hyung? Can you just roll her over? I can't move" the younger frowns and Minho is nodding before walking over to their daughter's bassinet.

"I'm glad you know that you're not allowed out of that bed" Minho laughs softly as he rolls her over slowly. The little pup squirms fitfully when she's disturbed and Jisung watches her thin brows furrow in displeasure.

"Oh my God, give her. Give her here," Jisung makes grabby hands at the baby by Minho's side; he can already feel his eyes welling up with unshed tears. Minho obediently lifts the whining pup from her bassinet, shushing her lightly as she fusses in his arms.

"She's angry at me now" Minho chuckles as he gently passes Minhee to her waiting omega father.

Jisung's heart is pulsing heavily in his chest when he takes the baby into his arms. She's so light, so soft. He presses his nose to the top of her head and smells a sweet yet slightly cheesy scent. Strangely, she smells kind of like a cheese danish, but somehow impossibly sweeter and even more pleasant. Just the scent of her releases all types of happy hormones in his brain and he can feel love, and a strong protectiveness weighing in his chest.
