What to Expect When Expecting in an Omegaverse: Minsung

Minhee's Super Cool. (Bonus Part II)

Minho has suspected for maybe a month now that his 15-month old daughter has started walking when her parents' backs are turned. They often spot Minhee holding onto furniture and toddling her way next to it; "cruising" as her pediatrician calls it. Jisung always makes a big deal of them not intently watching her as she tries because he thinks it makes her nervous, because she'll promptly stumble and fall when they get too excited and startle her.

"Baba baba" Minhee chats to herself quietly, repeating what seems to be the only word she knows. Minho would be lying if he said he wasn't a little peeved that his daughter hasn't said "Appa" yet. She is constantly calling for the alpha's mate though; Jisung, her Papa- or as she calls him "Baba".

"What'd you say, princess? Did you say Appa?" The alpha questions his baby animatedly. He truthfully knows exactly what she said but he wants to convince her- and himself, that she can call for him too.

"Baba" she repeats as if to really rub it in that she was thinking of her omega father, and not him. He pouts at her petulantly and the one-year old looks back at him blankly, undeterred by his sulking.

"Papa isn't even here. Don't you want Appa? I used to be your favorite, Minhee-ya~" the alpha complains to her before she's starting to crawl away dismissively.

"I think she's doing it on purpose at this point, hyung" Changbin laughs at the older alpha, who turns to him with an unfriendly glare.

"She'll get it eventually" Minho huffs before he notices that their group seems to be short half a member. "Changbin, where is Nabi-ya?" The older asks him curiously when he doesn't see the almost three-year old girl near them anymore.

Changbin's eyes widen and he immediately looks around for the busy-bodied pup. They're at the local recreation center for a "Toddler Class" that Felix suggested the alphas attend with their toddlers. The class was mostly just an excuse to get the omega and Jisung time away from the pups so that they could spend it together, but the alpha fathers were keen on the class anyways. It's essentially a two-hour long nursery school where pups and their caregivers can spend time playing and socializing. The whole thing seemed like a good idea- until now, of course.

The two alphas check around the nursery area for Nabi. Felix is going to pop Changbin's head like a pimple if he finds out the alpha lost their daughter, even if only for a moment. Honestly, he'd probably pop Minho's head too for letting Changbin lose her- so they both search for her intensely.

"Nabi..." Changbin sighs aloud when he finds his daughter. "I apologize about her" he apologizes to the mother and pup his daughter somehow shimmied her way in between. He and Minho hadn't been able to immediately spot her sitting amongst the two because they thought she'd be somewhere playing, not trying to sit in an unsuspecting woman's lap.

"Oh, she's okay. She's so outgoing and such a sweetheart!" The woman smiles as Changbin lifts his daughter from the mother's lap.

"Ah yeah, she's certainly friendly" the younger alpha sighs sheepishly as Nabi starts to point at the woman once she's in her father's arms.

"Appa, this Eomma" Nabi explains to Changbin as he guides her pointing finger back down to her side with a nod.

"That's his Eomma, yes, Nabi-ya." The raven-haired alpha confirms as the pup's mother chuckles.

"I'm Hajun's Eomma, Nabi-ya. Is this your Appa?" The woman entertains Changbin's daughter sweetly.

"Ammama mumma" Minho turns to the sound of his daughter's voice.

"Are you saying Eomma, Minhee-ya? Seriously?" The older alpha sighs as his daughter starts to crawl towards him. "You don't even have a mom. You're ridiculous, kid." He shakes his head with a chuckle and glances over at Changbin again out of curiosity at how his conversation was going.

"You're such a big girl, Nabi-ya" the woman is still chatting with Changbin and his daughter, the two have taken to sitting cross-legged on the carpet with her and her son now. Minho turns back to keeping an eye on his own daughter after satiating his curiosity. He's immediately gasping when he sees Minhee standing up on her own.

"Minhee- oh- come here, princess? Can you come to Appa?" The alpha catches himself before he can startle her and gently coaxes her over to him. She looks at him with bright eyes as he smiles at her animatedly to encourage her to try walking to him.

The baby smiles right back at him as she toddles towards her father on clumsy legs. He barely contains his cheers as she walks the short distance to meet him before stumbling into his waiting arms. Minho immediately scoops her up and showers her with praise and affection.

"Wow! What a big girl you are~" he cheers with a rain of kisses to her cheeks and forehead. "My little princess, you did so good. Papa's gonna be soo happy when I tell him!" Minho tells her as she smiles happily in his arms.

"Hyung, did she just walk?" Changbin asks in shock as he watches the interaction between the alpha and his pup.

"My baby just walked! Tell her how amazing and cool she is" the older alpha cheers as he bounces his daughter with animated speech. Changbin promptly stands with an equally as animated gasp and comes to Minhee with cheerful praise.

"Minhee-ya, that was so cool. You should do it again and again" Changbin praises the giggling baby with an endeared chuckle.

"Appa! Look, Appa. Me too" Nabi is immediately standing up to show her dad that she can walk too, and the alphas both can't help but laugh amused at the toddler.

"Wow, you're so cool too, Nabi-ya!" Minho declares to satisfy the toddler as her father laughs.

"You've been doing that for years Nabs, but it's still really cool. Good job" Changbin also compliments his daughter and this seems to satisfy her, because she smiles and runs into the side of her father's leg. The black-haired alpha bends down to lift his daughter and kiss her cheek affectionately. "You got your coolness from me, just remember that, okay?" He reminds her with a playful grin and the toddler nods happily, making him chuckle.
