Chapter 47: Happy Bliss

* Karri's POV *

Everything seemed good. Although much had been tested, we made it. I looked down at my engagement ring w/ a smile on my face before Peter walked in through the door.
Peter: What's for dinner?
Karri: I made spaghetti.
He walked inside the kitchen & looked at the food. I got up & walked inside to fix our plates & place them on the table.
Peter: What you do today?
Karri: Got plenty sleep.
I said laughing.
Peter: That's good.
Karri: You know I gotta fly out to New York tomorrow morning?
Peter: For?
Karri: Got studio time out there. They actually want me to feature on a track while I'm there.
Peter: You must have forgot about the doctor's appointment?
I rolled my eyes. I hadn't forgot, I just was gone tell his ass that. I knew exactly what I was doing.
Karri: I'm sorry. That was tomorrow?
Peter: You're lying. You knew it was.
Karri: How am I lying? I really forgot.
Peter: When you lie, you apologize. You never apologize when you suppose to.
Damn... he got me.
Karri: I don't see the point. Everything is fine. I know it.
Peter: With the miscarriage & everything I just want us to make sure.
Karri: Peter, I'm not worried about kids right now.
Peter: We will be soon. It happens. We weren't expecting it last time, but it happened. At least next time we'll be prepared.
Karri: It won't be a next time for a while cause I'm on the shot!
Damn... did I really just tell him that? I done messed up now.
Peter: Shot? I thought we agreed no birth control. If we were gonna be protected just use condoms?
Karri: Our careers are setting off great. I want to focus on that. Babies can wait.
Peter: So you weren't gonna tell me?
Karri: I was, but I'm sorry.. I forgot.
Damn... there I was lying again. He stood up & began walking to the bedroom.
Karri: I made brownies!
I screamed before he slammed the door shut. He was mad. Really mad. But could you blame me for just wanting to take everything slow? I wasn't ready to be a mom yet. Why couldn't he just understand that?
