Chapter 3: Saving The Date

* Kennedy's POV *

Laying back on my bed remembering when me & Kendrick first met. Growing up, I was his biggest fan & who would've known that years later we would be engaged? I did, of course. I got up & fixed his bowl of cereal for breakfast, his favorite. Handing him the bowl & seeing that warm smile of his.

Kendrick: Thanks bae. You know how a nigga like to start his day.

Kennedy: You're welcome. What you got planned for today?

He was trying to fight the words to reply to my question, but seemed more interested in his bowl of cereal.

Kendrick: Might go up to the studio & put a lil some together.

Kennedy: Oh okay. I was thinking about our wedding date.

Kendrick: What about it?

Kennedy: I want it in September..

Kendrick: That's cool.

Kennedy: This year.

I looked away because I know he wasn't expecting that. Kendrick & I always talked about wedding plans & visualizing for the big day, but it seemed like we never tried to set a date.

Kendrick: This year?

Kennedy: Yeah.

Kendrick dropped his spoon into his bowl.

Kendrick: Damn, Kennedy what's the rush? That's just 2 months from now.

Kennedy: We've been engaged for like 3 years Kendrick.

Kendrick: What's wrong with that? I thought you were okay with that.

Kennedy: I've just been waiting on YOU! You're always working, I'm always working. I'm tired of just saying we're engaged. We sit around & talk about plans all the time.

Kendrick: Ok, what's the problem?

Kennedy: There's nothing like actually being married though.

Kendrick stared at me while I gave him my explanation for the date. He then started smiling.

Kendrick: Okay. We can do that.

Kennedy: Okay.

I started smiling, & Kendrick grabbed me into his arms.

Kendrick: You know I'll do anything for you. I love you.

Kennedy: I love you too.

I looked up at Kendrick & he planted a kiss on my lips.
