Author's POV:

Meera stepped into the hall to find it already swarmed with men and women. She could feel her heart racing just looking at the people around her.

Although the hall wasn't that crowded, with only about fifty people, it was enough to make her feel weird in her stomach, as all the faces she had seen in the past five minutes were unfamiliar.

She glanced at her phone screen - damn, she was late!

She plastered a smile and walked into the hall, feeling relaxed as soon as she heard Ishika's voice. "Meera!! Have you seen the time? We've been waiting for you!" Ishika exclaimed.

"I wanted to come earlier, but the traffic! You know how bad it gets -" Ishika didn't let her finish, interrupting with a long sigh. "It's fine. Now come on, Rohit is about to make the announcement."

Meera's eyes widened. A smile formed as soon as she heard her. "You guys are announcing it publicly?" Ishika nodded excitedly. Meera couldn't help but hug her friend, feeling overwhelmed already. "I'm so happy for you, Ishika.".

Meera broke the hug and urged Ishika to join him on the stage.

Rohit stepped up to the microphone, a sly smile spreading across his face. Ishika stood beside him, her eyes sparkling with excitement. The room fell silent, anticipation hanging in the air like a challenge.

"Ladies and gentlemen, dear friends and family," Rohit began, his voice low and mysterious. "Today, we gather to celebrate a new chapter in our lives. A chapter that will bring us immense joy, and perhaps a little chaos."

He paused, surveying the room with a mischievous glint in his eye

"Ishika and I have been on an incredible journey together, and we're excited to share the next step with all of you."

Ishika nodded, her smile growing wider.

"But before we do, let me ask you all a question," Rohit continued, his voice dripping with suspense. "Are you ready for a surprise that will change our lives forever?"

The room erupted into a chorus of curious murmurs and excited whispers. Meera, in the audience, felt her heart racing with anticipation.

Rohit paused again, savoring the moment.

"Are you sure you're ready?" he teased, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

Ishika playfully rolled her eyes, and the room laughed.

"Okay, okay," Rohit relented, his grin growing wider. "We can't wait any longer. Ishika and I are... "

He paused once more, the room holding its collective breath.

"... expecting a baby!" The room exploded into cheers and applause, with gasps of delight and congratulatory shouts.

As Meera applauded along with the others, she felt a shiver run down her spine. She couldn't quite explain it, but suddenly, she was aware of being watched. She scanned the room, her eyes sweeping across the sea of faces, until they landed on a familiar pair of eyes.

Raghbir's gaze met hers, his eyes locking onto hers with an intensity that made her heart skip a beat. Meera felt a flush rise to her cheeks as she quickly looked away, trying to brush off the sensation. But she couldn't shake off the feeling that Raghbir's eyes were still on her, boring into her skin.

She risked another glance, and sure enough, Raghbir's gaze was still fixed on her. This time, Meera held his gaze for a fraction of a second longer, her pulse racing with a mix of excitement and nervousness. Then, she looked away, her heart pounding in her chest.

The applause died down, and Rohit's voice brought her back to the present. But Meera's senses remained heightened, aware of Raghbir's presence across the room, his gaze still lingering on her.

Meera had just congratulated Ishika and Rohit and finding herself a good corner, stood there sipping the juice, and admiring the couple from afar when Raghbir appeared beside her, his hand brushing against her back. At first, it was just a casual touch, but then his fingers settled into the curve of her spine, sending shivers down her spine.

"What are you doing Raghbir!?", Meera could feel her neck heat up.

"What am I doing Meera?"

Meera's heart skipped a beat as she felt his warmth seep into her skin. She tried to focus on Ishika's beaming face, but her senses were hijacked by Raghbir's gentle caress.

His hand moved in slow circles, teasing out a response from her. Meera's skin tingled, her muscles relaxing into his touch. It was as if he'd found a hidden button, and was pressing it with deliberate intent.

Raghbir's hand remained on her back, a constant presence that made her feel both cherished and unsettled. Meera couldn't help but wonder if anyone else noticed, or if it was just her own awareness that was heightened.

But when Raghbir's fingers danced down her spine, tracing the curve of her vertebrae, Meera knew she wasn't imagining things. This was no accidental touch – it was a deliberate claim, a statement of possession that left her breathless.

And yet, it didn't feel possessive – it felt playful, affectionate, and tender. As if Raghbir was saying, 'You're mine, and I'm yours, and I'm going to make sure you know it.'

Meera's heart soared, even as her senses went into overdrive. She knew she should probably step away, but her feet seemed rooted to the spot, unable to resist the gentle pull of Raghbir's touch.

"Will see you at your penthouses, darling!", He winked. Leaving her to her own self, with a racing, wild heart. Ready to come out anytime.

.....

Meera pulled her car in the parking lot and to her surprise, he was already there.

If it were anyone other than Raghbir, she would've broken their bones for following her till the penthouse. Only if it weren't Raghbir!

Now that he is the reason her stupid stupid heart cannot rest, she needs him all the time.

She approached the man, who stood there leaning against his car, the first two button of his black shirt open, hairs ruffled. Making him look hotter than ever.

Oh! How can he effortlessly look this charming?

Meera stood a feet away deciding to tease him a little. But all her plans were in vain when he opened his arms, a lazy smile playing on his lips. And she couldn't help but drop herself in his arms.

"How was the party, darling?", He teased.

"Take me to the bed already!", Meera sighed, exhausted after the long evening.

"Hmhm, do I hear you correct?"

"Take me to the bed, so that I can sleep! God, I have to rephrase every single thing, you dirty minded man!", he laughed out loud, taking her in his arms and walking towards the building.

Oh! How much he loved this woman!
