Important : The following chapter, in fact, the entire book is my first draft. I haven't edited it yet. I'll make sure to omit the grammatical errors and rephrase the errors one by one after I get done with the whole book.
Although, you guys didn't complete the target, I'm still uploading this for those readers who've been constantly supporting me and showering the comment section with the pleas of a new chapter.
Also to make it clear, I don't want such comments guys. As much as it makes me happy that 'yes, there's someone who wants updates' I also crave to know HOW you all are liking the story. Or what kind of changes do you want. Or anything. So please be a little expressive and vote, comment, share!
It helps to lift my spirit.
Writing is something I do to cheer myself up. I donot want it to turn into something that'll put me off. And the lack of response REALLY upsets me at times. So please, be a little considerate.

Meera served the dinner on a plate. She had put great effort in cooking the food he liked, she didn't want him to sleep empty stomach.
Gathering as much courage as she could, she went into Raghbir's room only to find it vacant.
She peeked in to see him standing on the balcony.
She kept the food on the table and walked towards the wardrobe to take out a shawl for him.The familiar scent of his cologne hit her nostrils, immediately calming her racing heart. She clutched the shawl, softly closing the door of the wardrobe.
She carefully slid the door open and stood behind him. His hair had grown, so had his beard. He hadn't been taking care of himself for the past few weeks.
Sighing, she put the shawl around him. His body stiffening as soon as he felt her hands touching him. His hands balled into a fist
He knew it was her.
They stood there for a few minutes, without speaking anything. Raghbir had expected her to wrap her hands around his forearm, and hug him like she always would. But alas, things weren't like before anymore.
They were drifted apart by the situations, he felt foolish to say her the things that he knew would hurt her. But even he was hurting. Could she not see that?
It was almost impossible to survive without her. He wanted nothing but her by his side. But she didn't want that, perhaps.
Perhaps it was Shekhar who would keep her happy. And if she found happiness in him, Raghbir was no one to intrude.
But a part of him, the adamant part of him, wanted to beg her to stay. To not leave him.
His chest tightened when he felt her shuffling, she entered into the room.
And just as he thought she wouldn't return, she was back with the tray of food.
“Come on, eat before it gets cold”, she stated, her voice withered.
Raghbir stared at her with a frown.
Is she not well?
She grabbed his hand and made him sit on the chair before sitting across him and pushing the plate ahead, urging him to eat.
He obeyed silently.
“How was your day?”, she looked at him, her eyes so innocent, so pious, he would happily drown in them.
What are you thinking Raghbir!!? She is no more your girlfriend. Stop with that.
He tore his eyes off her, before forcing a nod.
“Good”, his voice came out muffled.
The rest of his dinner was silent.
“The food was nice”, he said as he pushed the plate, wiping his lips with the tissue.
“You should sleep.”, he stood up to leave, but was stopped by her voice again.
“I slept with mummy back at home. Even that night when you called, she was in the room.”
Raghbir stopped, waiting for her to finish. His heart racing wildly.
She might be telling him about her feelings for Shekhar.
Perhaps she wanted to end it officially tonight?
“Hear me out before assuming anything.”
Raghbir looked away at the sky guiltily.
He had been assuming since the start. What if he was wrong?
But, he couldn't be?
Right?
That didn't mean she shouldn't get a change to put her perspective ahead.
He nodded, giving her the consent to speak ahead.
“When I called you later, I walked out of my room and just then Shekhar came. I had no idea he was there. I called you and when you recieved the call he started behaving extremely weird. I was annoyed with him, and thats why I disconnected the call.”
He glanced at her, lips parting to speak something but she raises her hand.
“I'm not done yet.”
He pressed his lips thin. Jutting his chin to let her speak.
“And, that day, I was swimming when he came. And I was annoyed, yes. And I know I shouldn't have snapped at you. But in my defense, I was annoyed with someone intruding my privacy.”
She fished out the pendrive from her pocket, keeping it on his palm. “There's a CCTV footage, you may check it.”
Raghbir's eyes widened, his gaze fixed on Meera as the truth sank in.
His lips parted, but no words came out.
He felt like he'd been punched in the gut, his breath knocked out of him.
His vision blurred, and he stumbled backward, grasping the balcony railing to steady himself.
Meera's face contorted in pain, and she turned away, disappearing into the shadows. Raghbir's grip on the railing tightened, his knuckles white with tension. He couldn't move, couldn't speak, couldn't process the hurt he'd caused.
His grip on the railing faltered, his fingers numb from the cold.
He felt like he was drowning in his own regret, unable to find a lifeline to cling to.
That's where there relationship has reached?
He had ruined it.
To such extent that they are relying on 'evidencces'?
The pulse in his head throbbed, with all the thoughts occupying his mind.
Meera's silhouette reappeared at the balcony door, her eyes searching for something – hope, perhaps, or a glimmer of redemption.
But Raghbir's expression remained frozen, distant. And lost.
He was wrong this time. So, very, wrong.
And he didn't have the courage to look into her eyes anymore.
He didn't have the courage anymore to look into the eyes of the woman he loved.
