At four o'clock, Brian and I decided to kick off our preparations for the 7 o'clock costume party. Brian, knowing my penchant for taking my time, even more so with costumes, graciously let me take the first turn in the shower to allow for ample prep time.

Emerging from the shower, I swiftly slipped into my long black dress, expertly parting my hair down the middle and adorning myself with a delicate necklace. Paired with black heels, I was ready to embody the elegant allure of Morticia Addams. Brian had cleverly suggested that we coordinate our costumes and portray Morticia and Gomez Addams from the iconic American television series, "The Addams Family," which had enjoyed significant popularity back in '65 to '66.

Brian's idea was brilliant; with our matching hairstyles (well, only me) and the simplicity of our costumes, minimal styling was required, making the transformation process smooth and efficient.

I wasn't prepared to see him with a moustache, though.

As I concentrated on perfecting Morticia's signature eye look, I caught a glimpse of Brian standing behind me in the mirror, clad only in a towel wrapped around his lower half. He seemed completely at ease, as if I weren't there. I couldn't help but appreciate how comfortable he was becoming around me. But lord, have mercy. Give me self-control.

Maintaining my focus on my makeup, I marveled at how the sultry allure of Morticia's eye makeup was coming to life on my own features. I like the way her eyeliner was drawn. Carolyn Jones is truly a goddess. Lost in the artistry of it all, I suddenly noticed a figure standing silently in the doorway.

"Goodness, Brian, you nearly gave me a heart attack," I exclaimed, a hand pressed against my chest as I chuckled nervously. Brian, now adorned with his faux moustache, approached his bed and took a seat.

"Is it really that dreadful?" he quipped, a playful grin tugging at his lips.

"No, no," I reassured him with a smile, relieved that his new look was actually quite tame and rather suited his face. "I suppose I'm just not accustomed to seeing you like this," I admitted, finding his transformed appearance unexpectedly alluring. "You'd look good in a beard."

"You think so?" he asked, a hint of surprise in his voice, his smile widening at my compliment. I nodded in affirmation.

"You look really beautiful, love," he complimented in return, his eyes sparkling with genuine admiration.

"Come here," I beckoned with a playful wiggle of my finger, urging him closer. With a smile, he obliged, approaching until he stood before me. I reached out, gently tugging on his necktie to bring him closer still, and swiftly removed the faux moustache before pressing my lips to his, causing him to chuckle in surprise.

"I thought it was alright?" he remarked, his amusement evident.

"It is!" I replied with a laugh, shaking my head as he rolled his eyes playfully.

As he lingered beside me, he took my hand in his, our eyes meeting in the reflection of the mirror. "You really are so beautiful," he murmured, his words accompanied by a trail of tender kisses along my hand and forearm, reminiscent of Gomez's adoration for Morticia. I couldn't help but giggle as his lips tickled my clothed skin.

"Stop!" I protested playfully, pushing him aside.

He stood behind me, quietly observing as I finished the rest of my makeup.
