"Mirrors"
Mirrors,
Oh, how I hide from mirrors
Constantly avoiding,
Every single one I see
As it simply serves to remind me
Of how horrible and unworthy
A human being like me.Mirrors,
Oh, how I despise you
Rather be blind
Than to glance at that reflection,
To look at another direction
Than cause my eyes harm
At this unsettling presence.
Mirrors,
Oh, must I realize
That you do not tell
Who's ugly or who isn't?
Maybe you show,
Maybe you let me see
Oh mirrors,
There might actually be
beauty in me.
Mirrors,
Oh, how I'll try to stare longer
I'll try not to avoid
I'll try to look at every single one.
I'll try to look, and look,
And–I stop!
I opened my eyes.
As I glance at
every single part of me,
Tears began to fall.
that instant,
All I could utter was,
Mirrors,
You're a reminder of my beauty.
