Chapter 33: Help!

"Please don't touch my hair," exclaimed Evangeline as she stood up and stepped away.

"Um...what happened to you? You're still bleeding so don't go—" reminded Jahnavi.

"Not important," interrupted Evangeline, ripping her shirt off and making it into a bandage for her chest. "Let's go." She smiled as she sauntered ahead.

"What is wrong with her?" whispered Allison to Jahnavi and Iris.

"It might be because of the poison. It's taking an effect on her," said the worried Jahnavi.

"Well at least she still remembers things," encouraged Iris.

"Yea, for example, Lee Know," snickered Allison.

Sighing, John explained, saying, "It's because you all were chosen to save the world from disappearing and forgotten. There's no time to waste."

"Who chose us?" inquired Milo.

"The souls of the first spirit animals. They were the source to every living thing," replied the mage for John.

"I thought mothers were," debated Cody as he saw Milo laughing maniacally about it.

"Uhh...yes and no. Now we're discussing a different matter," added John quickly.

"Get to the point, dork," snapped the impatient Jonas.

"Be nice. There's something special about him," said Shinkai.

"I am the descendant of the master of mages," said John.

"You should stop with your procrastination bro. We don't trust in you," snickered Cody.

"My patience is limited! I'm just trying—" John tried to finish his sentence, but was interrupted by Cody, who turned his back on John and walked away.

"Evangeline? Where are you going? Why are you walking so fast?" Jahnavi panted, trying to catch up with her.

"Didn't you know that a war is starting any time?" said Evangeline. "We could be dead soon. Anyway we're all going to die one day."

"...Why's a war starting?" questioned Iris.

"The bandits are working together to make the worst history leaders appear again...to change the world and start a new generation," sighed Evangeline while explaining. "We have to stop them."

"Okay, but how did you know that?" wondered Allison.

"The poison had an effect on me. I'll be able to see the future," said Evangeline.

"What are the consequences?" inquired Jahnavi.

"It's not you to be concerned about," pursued Evangeline. "We will have to fight this time."

"Scary...what if we lose????" said Iris.

"Then we'd be losers for life!!!" replied Evangeline.

"Um...ok," said the rest of the girls plainly, unserious about what Evangeline had told them.

"Trust," said Evangeline. "Or never mind."

"Just ignore him and continue on with your statement," advised Milo, trying to comfort the disappointed John.

"It's fine. You all can leave. I was just going to say that you all should remember to prepare for war that's happening anytime," said the mage in defense of John.

"WAR?" yelped the boys.

"Yes?? I thought you all were warned about it beforehand!"

"What war?"

"Hi guys, Evangeline brought us here," said Jahnavi, suddenly walking into the room.

"H-how did you know where we were?" stammered the boys, backing up against the wall.

But the girls were silent, and the mage quickly said to Evangeline, "Let me check your scars."

As the mage carefully inspected Evangeline's scars, he started up a conversation.

"Do you like spirit animals?" questioned the mage.

"I have never seen them before, so I don't know," replied Evangeline.

"I've seen them in books though," Allison volunteered.

"Great! They will help you when it's time for the war," said John as he boiled hot tea.
