As Lute flashed a small, enigmatic grin, Adam let out a chuckle, his words barely audible from where (Y/N) stood. Lute made her way over to (Y/N), her graceful stride catching (Y/N)'s attention amidst the bustling city crowd. Adam, with a smile directed at both of them, continued down the sidewalk, drawing the curious gazes of the angelic dwellers as he passed by.

"Hey," Lute greeted (Y/N) with a warm smile as she approached. "What's on your mind?"(Y/N) returned her smile, though a hint of hesitation lingered in their eyes

"I-I...." they paused for a moment, the words catching in their throat. Taking a deep breath, they continued, their voice barely above a whisper. "W-Well, Lute, I'm getting moved somewhere else.... They're moving me to a different area to continue my duties elsewhere since I'm no longer needed to.... Keep an eye on you," they confessed, their tone heavy with resignation. Lute's smile faltered, replaced by a look of surprise and confusion. "I... I see," she replied, her voice taking on an unfamiliar tone that (Y/N) wasn't used to. There was a hint of sadness in her eyes, a subtle shift in her demeanor.

Lute's brows furrowed in concern as she processed (Y/N)'s words. "So, when do you go...?" she asked, her voice tinged with a hint of sadness, though her usual stoic tone remained intact.

(Y/N) hesitated for a moment before responding, their gaze fixed on the ground as they struggled to find the right words. "I have 2 days," they finally replied, their voice barely above a whisper.

The weight of their impending departure hung heavy in the air between them, casting a shadow over their conversation. Lute's expression softened, a flicker of sadness crossing her features as she took in the news.

"Two days..." she repeated softly, as if trying to make sense of the reality of the situation. "That's not much time at all..."

(Y/N) nodded in agreement, their heart heavy with the knowledge that their time together was quickly running out. They had known that this moment would come eventually, but the reality of it still hit them like a punch to the gut.

"Yeah... It's not much time," they murmured, unable to meet Lute's gaze as the weight of their impending departure settled over them like a heavy cloak.

(Y/N) gathered their courage and met Lute's gaze, finding a sense of comfort in the warmth of her eyes. "Well, might as well make the most of the two short days, eh?" (Y/N) offered an awkward smile, hoping to lighten the mood.

Lute's expression softened at (Y/N)'s attempt to inject some levity into the conversation. Despite the gravity of the situation, there was a flicker of amusement in her eyes as she returned (Y/N)'s smile.

"Yeah, I suppose you're right," she replied, her voice carrying a note of wistfulness. "We'll make the most of it."

As they walked side by side down the busy sidewalk, (Y/N) couldn't help but steal glances at Lute, admiring the way the light danced in her hair and the grace with which she moved. It was moments like these that made (Y/N) wonder if they would ever find the courage to tell Lute the truth about their identity.

But as they walked together in comfortable silence, (Y/N) pushed aside their doubts and focused on enjoying the present moment. They knew that the time for confessions would come, but for now, they were content to bask in the warmth of Lute's company, grateful for the fleeting moments of peace amidst the chaos of their world.

As they continued their leisurely stroll through the streets of Halo City, (Y/N) found themselves lost in thought, the weight of their impending departure looming large in their mind. They knew they couldn't avoid the inevitable conversation forever.

Lute glanced over at (Y/N), a concerned expression flickering across her features. "Is everything alright?" she asked, her voice soft with genuine concern.

(Y/N) offered her a reassuring smile, though the façade faltered under Lute's penetrating gaze. "I...I'm fine," they replied, their voice tinged with uncertainty.

Lute's brow furrowed in concern, sensing that something weighed heavily on (Y/N)'s mind. Despite her own worries, she focused on offering support to (Y/N).

"Once you do move your office and I'm done with the extermination for this year," she began, reassuring (Y/N), "we can always... meet up again."

Her words carried a sense of hope, a promise of a future where they could still share moments together despite the challenges they faced. Lute understood the importance of maintaining connections, especially in times of uncertainty, and she was determined to offer (Y/N) the reassurance they needed.

(Y/N) nodded, feeling a wave of gratitude wash over them at Lute's offer. "Thank you, Lute," they murmured, their voice filled with emotion. "That means a lot to me."

Lute offered (Y/N) a warm smile, her eyes reflecting a deep sense of empathy. "Of course," she replied, her voice gentle yet resolute. "We'll always find a way to stay connected, no matter what."

Despite Lute's supportive words, (Y/N) couldn't shake the weight of guilt that settled in their chest. They longed to confess their true identity and the feelings they harbored for her, but the fear of rejection held them back.

Reluctantly, they chose to suppress the words they so desperately wanted to share with her, burying their true feelings deep within their heart.

(Y/N) managed a weak smile, trying to hide the turmoil brewing beneath the surface. "Y-Yeah... don't worry," they reassured, their voice wavering slightly. "Hopefully, I can get in contact with you once I move... I'll... I'll make sure to let you know. "

Lute nodded, though a flicker of concern crossed her features. "I'll be waiting," she replied softly, her eyes searching (Y/N)'s for any sign of what was troubling them.

(Y/N) forced a smile, though it felt strained on their lips. "Thanks, Lute," they murmured, their voice barely above a whisper. "I appreciate it."

But despite their attempt to reassure her, (Y/N) knew that the weight of their secrets would continue to hang over them like a shadow, casting doubt and uncertainty on their every move. As they walked in silence, the weight of their unspoken words hung heavy between them, a barrier that seemed impossible to breach.

"Lute, I..." (Y/N) paused for a moment, meeting Lute's gaze as they walked side by side. Her face held a small, gentle smile, encouraging (Y/N) to speak their mind, but they changed their mind.

"L-Let's make the most of it," (Y/N) finally said with a smile, determined to cherish the present moment despite the weight of their unspoken words.

Lute's smile widened slightly at (Y/N)'s words, a flicker of warmth in her eyes. "I couldn't agree more," she replied softly, her voice filled with genuine sincerity.
