After Adam's departure and the uncomfortable exchange between him, (Y/N), and Lute, the two decided to seek refuge outside on the expansive balcony of the top floor. Stepping into outside, they found themselves enveloped in a sense of calm amidst the chaos of the Angelic Ball.

Leaning against the ornate railing, (Y/N) and Lute stood side by side, their thoughts still lingering on the encounter with Adam. The distant sound of music and laughter drifted up from the ballroom below, but out here on the balcony, they were shielded from the noise, left with only the soft rustle of the wind...

(Y/N) broke the silence, their voice tinged with resignation as they leaned against the balcony railing.

"Well... Adam finally knows what I look like now," they began, their tone heavy with a sense of defeat. "Not like it makes a difference anyways. I feel like keeping tabs on him hasn't really accomplished anything...when the day comes you two will still proceed with your exterminations..."

Their words hung in the air, a somber acknowledgment of the futility of their efforts.

Lute's response came with her usual stoicism, but also carrying an air of determination.

"Yet you continue with your mission, just as I will with mine, (Y/N)," she stated firmly, her gaze unwavering as she met (Y/N)'s eyes.

(Y/N) expressed their concern, a hint of apprehension coloring their tone.

"Still, it's going to be much harder now that he knows my face and that I'm affiliated with you," they admitted, their voice tinged with worry as they glanced at Lute.

Lute offered a slow, understanding nod in response to (Y/N)'s apprehension. Her gaze was steady, conveying a sense of resolve tempered with empathy.

"It's a risk you'll have to manage," she replied calmly, her voice steady and reassuring.

(Y/N) sighed, the tension from Adam's unexpected encounter still lingering in the air. After a moment of silence, they decided to shift the conversation.

(Y/N): "So, does Adam always act like that?" They chuckled slightly, attempting to diffuse the lingering unease with a touch of humor.

Lute considered the question for a moment, her gaze drifting towards the noise of the bustling ballroom before returning to (Y/N) with a thoughtful expression.

Lute: "Adam has always been... himself," she began, her tone carrying a hint of admiration despite her measured words. "He may come across as brash and irreverent, but beneath it all, there's a fierce loyalty to Heaven and an unwavering dedication to protecting it."

(Y/N) nodded thoughtfully, listening to Lute's appreciation for Adam's complexities.

(Y/N): "I can see that," they replied, their tone tinged with a hint of understanding. "His loyalty is undeniable, even if he can be... infuriating..."

(Y/N) turned to look at Lute, detecting a subtle shift in her demeanor. It was clear that something weighed on her mind, a question left unspoken.

Lute: "Well, (Y/N), I should stand guard next to Adam now..." Lute's voice trailed off momentarily, her gaze distant as if lost in thought. "I'll see you down there..."

With that, Lute stepped away from the railing, her movements purposeful yet tinged with a hint of hesitation. As she disappeared inside, (Y/N) couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Lute's sudden departure than met the eye.

(Y/N) muttered to themselves, a faint furrow forming on their brow as they pondered Lute's unspoken question.

(Y/N): "I wondered what she wanted to say..."
