Chapter 41: A Lesson In Disguise

As Eri heard the knocking on her door, she checked her phone, noticing that it had gotten past 9 pm, having completely lost track of time since she began gaming.

Sighing, she got up and opened the door, a little surprised to see that Ochako was the first to come back, after all, Izuku wasn't the type to leave her alone for this  long.

"You okay? Did you lose your keys?" Eri asked, wondering why Ochako didn't just walk in. 

"No, I just uh... wanted to see if anyone was home, I didn't know if you and Nejire went somewhere else." Ochako answered, stumbling a little, not only over her words but also over her own feet, struggling to find her balance and take her shoes off. 

"So pretty much you wanted to see if my brother was back home?" Eri asked with an eyeroll, met with a look of surprise and guilt from her roommate. 

"I'm not an idiot y'know." Eri teased, walking back into the sitting room after locking the door. 

"I know that... I just didn't want to say anything out loud." She replied meekly. 

"Anything out loud to who? There's no one else here. Nejire left about half an hour ago." Eri pointed out. 

"Oh, what did you two get up to?" Ochako asked, sitting down next to Eri, watching as she picked up her controller and joined another game. 

"She's very evasive today." Eri thought to herself, keeping most of her attention on the match, since she wasn't as good as Izuku was at Heroes Justice, so losing meant ruining his rank.

"Nothing much, she ordered us some food, and we just chilled out for a bit. What about you? Where did you go after your walk?" She asked.

"I went over to Mina and Tsu's place for a bit" Ochako answered. 

"How are they?" She asked again, leaning forward in her seat as she started to lose, which unfortunately didn't take long. 

"They're okay, we just got into a small argument" Ochako admitted, leaning back in her chair and sighing. 

"They just don't get your point of view huh?" Eri commented, giving Ochako a side-eye, wondering if she'd fall for it. 

"Exactly! Like, why did they have to disagree with me like that?!" Ochako replied without thinking. 

"So you did  talk about Todoroki and Izuku then?" Eri asked slyly, causing Ochako to give her another surprised look. 

"H-how..." Ochako said under her breath. 

"I told you, I'm not stupid. Especially after the stunt you pulled at the gym, it's written all over your face. You haven't even changed out of your clothes yet just in case he walks in soon right?" Eri stated, as she finally began to win the game again. 

"W-well... I just... It's none of your business." She muttered defensively. 

"Says the girl who has a crush on the guy we both live with, and that guy happens to be my older brother. Not to mention that if you do end up going out with Todoroki, you might bring him over and do god knows what in my late mother's bedroom. I'd say that does make it my business." Eri replied, her tone a little harsher than usual.

"It's not like that! I'm not gonna sleep with Todoroki here! Is that what you think of me?!" Ochako exclaimed, a look of anger on her face. 

"No, but you went right there without me saying anything specific, and Izuku's at Momo's place. I'm not saying he'll stay the night, but I know how it goes. I just don't want either of you two to get into some argument, or for things to be awkward and I'm in the middle of it." Eri explained.
