31. When summer is gone...everything gets dark

Lee family is on their way and Ice still couldn't answer her phone. She doesn't know how to tell it, or maybe she's still in denial to face the reality.

But one thing she knows, her body feels weak with every emotion turned off. Like existing but not living...that without summer, everything gets dark.

"Ice, I'm sorry for.....Summer's really a good person" Mateo tries to say something but only saw how Ice was shattered as she lifelessly stepping out from the elevator and walked past him towards their designated room.

She entered the dim empty room and the moment she shut closed the door the overwhelming emotion burst out most especially now that she's all alone. Everything is just slowly but surely painfully sinking inside her head, of how she hates herself for turning her back from Summer back in the gym.

Of how their last memory was painful to remember of seeing Summer saddened smile that time when she chose to ignored her. If only she knows this will happen then she rather forcefully took Summer with them even it is out of her will....that only if she listen to her intrusive thoughts then maybe Summer is still alive, that maybe if she wasn't eaten alive by her jealousy after hearing Gigi name, maybe she could save summer that night. But she guess, you tend to realize things when it is all too late.

"......Ice" there's a trembling voice echoed lightly inside the room as her mind stop working, that even her breathing halted after hearing a familiar voice and when she brings up her eyes, their she goes, standing terrified next to her table, full of fears with a lot of agony reflecting in her eyes "I'm scared...."

There's no seconds Ice wasted, but finding herself running to Summer, pulling the fragile girl in her chest, that seeing her right this moment and engulfing her shaky small body feels like a dream "Fuck Summer!" She hissed under in madness nor out of fear "are you trying to kill me??"

Summer sobbed uncontrollably against her chest while pulling her body as if she's afraid to let go of Ice as her body badly shaking in mixed of fear and panic "I'm sosorry, I—I got scared and and I...ran when I saw the chained crashed and ththe smoke cocoming out of hohood.....i—it scares me that if you see me in the accident you'll scscolded...andd yyou'll tthink t—tthat Im sttupi..d... so I hid bebehind their shshoulder"

Ice pinched closed her eyes after hearing it and now she's lost of what to feel first among all the lining up emotions.

"YOU FUCKING GOT US DEAD WORRIED SUMMER AUGUST!" Vero can't help her bursting concerned after hearing Summer explanation to all of them including her family "SO YOU ARE SAYING THAT YOU RAN OUT OF THE CAR TO HIDE BECAUSE YOU'RE SCARED TO BE SCOLDED??"

Xian tries to calm his girlfriend but Veronica is really in between of anger and concern, she almost lost her best friend earlier "Way too smart to think that! And what about us? What about thinking that we all thought you are the dead burned girl lying in the morgue?? What about driving everyone crazy in panic?? And how about instead of hiding, it's smarter to approach us that you are alive and got out of the car before it exploded!" Veronica is not really going to be relax any moment, she needed to vent it out of her chest or she'll be the one to explode in frustration.

While on other hand, Gigi exhaled loudly in relief while staring thankfully to shivering Summer, it didn't matter to her whatever's the explanation as long as Summer is alive and here with them although she has a minor bleeding in the forehead and some body injury.

"It's okay, clearly she did it out of fear and we can't blame Summer okay? It's okay darling" Grace hugging Summer on her left side while Bloom is on Facetime, Summer's mother. "And I'm so sorry Bloom, we should be taking care of your daughter but this happened"

Bloom shook her head in understanding as she softly say "Grace accident happens everywhere we're just unfortunate that it happened to Summer and I know that your family is taking good care of my daughter and this is no one's fault"

Grace exhaled, still blaming herself to what happened.

Summer looks down to her fidgeting fingers before shyly saying "I'm sorry mama about the car"

"Honey, never mind the car okay?" Bloom softly telling her daughter but pained of seeing her daughter in disaster state, with a bandage in her forehead with some bruises "it's just a car and I wouldn't trade that to your life"

"How about you live with Ice? In that case it will lessen our worry, while you Ice, don't let her go home alone or in anywhere alone and I really hope that you learn from this accident" Grace telling Ice in firm tone with a threatening stare as if it was her fault.

But causes Summer in panic and now shaking her head in contest "No need mom, please—"

"That's what I'm actually planning mom" Ice cutting Summer that it made her eyes widened in shock of how Ice is deadly serious right now.

The door opened with Ares smiling at Summer "all settled. I talked to the police and filed the insurance as well"

And all this inconveniences is making Summer completely feeling guilty "I'm so so sorry for the hassle everyone. If only I paid more attention to the road then none of this will happened"

Ares walked over to Summer to pat her shoulder "you're part of our family and you are important so don't feel sorry for the thing that no person in the right mind wants okay? Now cheer up, you got us here okay? You drove everyone worried especially Ice"
