For a little longer he surveyed his appearance in the mirror, running a finger beneath his turtleneck, it feeling a little too tight. Once he was finally feeling slightly better, the sick feeling slowly dissipating, he left the restroom again.
However, when he did so, he came face to face with Dae and Sunoo. They were standing there, near empty popcorn buckets in hand whilst they talked about something - most likely the movie. Not even noticing his presence.
"W-what are you guys doing?"
Dae looked up, smiling as she saw Sunghoon. "Waiting for you, we thought we'd just get some food from here and walk around the arcade?"
Confused, Sunghoon nodded, muttering, "Uhh, sure." Before he continued with, "But don't you wanna finish the movie?"
"It finished." Dae laughed, looking at him with pinched features. "Weren't you paying attention?"
No. No, he hadn't been. Not even a little bit.
"Oh, right. Sure I was." He said instead, evening out his expression as he reached forward for Dae's hand, feeling grounded as she intertwined their fingers. "Then let's go."
They walked over to the food counter first, only two guys in line, meaning they were served rather quickly.
"Nachos, please." Dae asked kindly. She then looked over to Sunoo, who simply said he'd have the same.
Sunghoon rolled his eyes. Of course he would.
Sunghoon ordered a hot dog, not needing to obsessively follow Dae to try and win her over. There was just something so annoying about Sunoo doing that. Everything was annoying Sunghoon right now - like how close he was standing to Dae, entirely ignoring Sunghoon's presence as they talked about the movie, smiling and laughing about a plot point Sunghoon had not paid any attention to.
As their orders came, Sunghoon let go of Dae's hand so he could take their food, passing Dae's hers before he picked up his own hot dog, immediately taking a bite. Then, not really sure why, he simply turned away and began to walk towards the arcade. He's sure he heard Sunoo scoff behind him over the fact he hadn't given him his food, but Sunghoon didn't care. Their proximity was beginning to irritate him, the increasing feeling of being the third wheel getting on his nerves.
One glance behind him told Sunghoon neither of them noticed his behaviour, they were following behind, still deep in conversation. Smiles still etched onto their faces, Dae touching his arm as her eyes grew wider, then falling into an even more excited rant about whatever it was they were discussing. Maybe Sunghoon really should have paid attention to the movie, at least then he would be able to take part.
For whatever reason, mind blank as he watched them, Sunghoon shouted, "Sunoo."
They both looked up, Sunoo furrowing his brows slightly, looking confused as to why Sunghoon would ever be referring to him directly. Sunghoon was a little confused about that too.
"Wanna..." Sunghoon looked around, eyes catching the air hockey table. "I bet I can beat you." He finished, eyes meeting Sunoo's again. For a moment he thought he saw the man begin to smile, but it was gone all too quickly.
Eyes travelling to the table then back to Sunghoon, Sunoo challenged, "You're on." And Sunghoon felt good.
As Sunoo walked over, Sunghoon getting into position as well, Sunghoon was sure it was because he was getting Sunoo away from Dae. That's why this felt good, why he was excited at the thought of playing with Sunoo.
