"What does talking mean, Hyung?"
"Like... in general? I don't really know the origin of the word but-"
"No." Sunghoon whined, shaking his head like Jungwon could see it through the phone. "Like, when boys ask you to talk. What does it mean?"
"Boys, huh?"
"Yes. Boys." Sunghoon replied, not giving Jungwon the satisfaction of saying Sunoo and telling the older they were going to talk today. In ten minutes to be exact.
"Well..." Jungwon began, silence stretching out over the line before Jungwon braved suggesting, "It could be a d word."
Sunghoon felt his cheeks turn warm as he fidgeted in his seat and cleared his throat. He thought of Sunoo's cute ramblings from the other day where he had assured it wasn't a date, unprovoked.
"We have very much established it is not the d word."
"Hmm, then I'm guessing talking means talking, Hoon. Getting to know each other, seeing where things could go between you two..."
"Are you describing a d word right now?"
After another long pause of silence, Jungwon was saying, not convincing at all, "No."
With Sunghoon's groan of pain and Jungwon's amused sigh, the older corrected, "I'm sure he just wants to figure things out. You're both confused, aren't you?" Again, Sunghoon forgot Jungwon couldn't see him and nodded. "This will give you both the chance to get some things straight."
Sunghoon really wished Jungwon was here so he could punch him as the older tried not to laugh and added, "Or not straight."
"The gays are no help, I'm hanging up." Sunghoon complained, frowning, though he made no move to actually end the call.
Slowly stopping his laughter, Jungwon advised, "Just breathe and be as honest as you can, okay? To yourself I mean. If you're going to be happy, you need to start listening to yourself."
Sunghoon sighed, pouting as he thought of his mind lately. "All I say is how pretty Sunoo is and debate over what country would be the best to run away to."
He heard more laughter over the phone line as Jungwon said, "I like the first thing you're saying. Now say more things like that and get to your not a d word."
Sunghoon rolled his eyes because he could. He couldn't find a response to anything else Jungwon said but he could pout and frown.
"I... I'm already here." Sunghoon began, eyes tracing the light and airy cafe, plants everywhere, even hanging over their heads in deep greens, with splashes of pink and orange flowers. "I got here fifteen minutes ago."
Another silence followed and Sunghoon was preparing to be teased when he spotted Sunoo walking through the doors of the cafe in cargo pants, an oversized grey sweatshirt and a creme bucket hat, with silver chain link bracelets and rings and Sunghoon was definitely staring.
"I gotta go, Hyung, bye bye." Sunghoon quickly said, almost forgetting the phone existed as he hung up and put it down. He thought he heard Jungwon start to say something about being neglected for pretty boys but Sunghoon couldn't be sure.
"Hey." Sunghoon waved, catching Sunoo's attention.
The younger walked over to their table, Sunghoon pulling on the hem of his white, Chanel sweater with two red Cs over his heart.
"Hey." Sunoo hesitated before he actually sat down opposite Sunghoon, looking at the drink in front of him.
"O-oh I ordered you a caramel frappuccino."
