Sunoo stumbled onto their coach late, having waited until the last possible moment to return to his room to pack, not wanting to run into Sunghoon. That left him to be scolded by Coach Mae, who stood at the doors and waved him over with an exasperated sigh. Sunoo apologised profusely as he hauled his bag into the storage under the coach and then climbed the few steps of the vehicle.

As he entered, Sunoo searched the seats until he found his friends at the back, but he couldn't find an empty seat. He briefly met Jake's eyes, who looked apologetic but hopeful as he pointed to his own lap.

Sunoo was half tempted to take him up on the offer but then Coach Chang was voicing from the front seat, "Sunoo take a seat, we have a schedule." As he finished he pointed to the only empty seat on the coach, near the front.

Sunoo froze when he spotted who was on the other seat - Sunghoon. Of course.

"I-I can stand or-"

"Sunoo, sit." Coach Mae now climbed onto the bus, going to sit next to Chang, and Sunoo wanted to die.

With both of their eyes burning through him, annoyed that they couldn't leave yet, Sunoo melted into the seat begrudgingly. He sat as close to the edge as possible but even that only left an inch or so between their bodies.

Sunoo felt Sunghoon tense next to him, also pushing himself as close to the windows as possible.

Sunoo truly felt the universe was against him now. The very reason he had gone out of his way today was now happening anyway, he was forced to interact with Sunghoon. For hours.

Refusing reality, staring ahead as the coach began to move and pretending he wasn't next to Sunghoon at all, Sunoo was surprised when he heard a voice.

"H-hi."Sunghoon said breathily and Sunoo's entire body erupted in shivers, butterflies releasing through his stomach.

"Hi." He said back in the same almost whisper, neither looking at each other, both feeling the exact same shivers.

For a moment Sunoo thought that would be it, the last thing they ever said to each other. However, then he heard Sunghoon speak again, he even thought he felt the older's eyes trace his features.

"I'm happy that you won." Sunghoon said, genuine but hesitant and Sunoo didn't know what to think. "I knew you would."

So he didn't think when he looked down to the distance between them, Sunghoon's hand on his own thigh and Sunoo's on his own as well. They were so close but so far apart and every centimeter felt like a mile as Sunoo moved closer and closer.

They fell silent and Sunoo didn't dare look anywhere but at their hands, his nerves made him shake as he moved, but it was all worth it when he saw Sunghoon steadily move his fingers as well.

When they brushed, Sunoo didn't think it was real, but then it happened once more and Sunoo was falling all over again.

The small table between them was filled with multiple empty cups, evidence of the time they had spent at the cafe. Still, they both held another mug, Sunoo's brought to his lips as Jake looked on with wide eyes and heavy shoulders.

Jake let out a long exhale, shaking his head in disbelief as he breathed, "Wow."

Sunoo could only nod, having told the older every little detail about what had happened on the last days of the trip and having nothing more to say. He had really been hoping that Jake would have answers for him because he was struggling to decide what to do next.
