Sunoo held his breath until he thought he would pass out.

Eventually, Sungwoo broke the silence to further, "We need to show that you are responsible and organised, someone that can be relied upon as the CEO."

It was like the world's most painful game of tennis as Sunoo's eyes switched from Sunghoon to Sungwoo. On one side was the annoyance he felt at seeing Sunghoon being pushed towards something he didn't want and on the other was the pain of Sunghoon allowing everyone to think he was with Dae.

Then there was the self hatred Sunoo felt at being personally annoyed Sunghoon wasn't announcing that he had in fact jerked him off once so they must be in love.

"Yeah, about that..."

Sunoo looked up, hanging off of Sunghoon's words as he looked towards his Appa, more specifically in his general direction.

"You two are so perfect for each other, I'm sure everyone will love seeing you together."

Sunoo felt sick with jealousy, eyes falling down and body tensing. He couldn't even look at Sunghoon, knowing what was about to come and not wanting the knife to twist in the wound when Sunghoon smiled and forgot he existed.

"I-it's just-"

"They will won't they?"

"I mean, she'll be there but-"

"Great." Misun clapped in finality, a serene smile on her face as she turned all of her attention onto Bom.

Sunoo only sat in silence, trying not to look up because he could feel Sunghoon's eyes on him and he didn't want it to hurt anymore than it did now.

"Now that we have that sorted, there's something we have to discuss. We're glad that Sunoo is here to hear this."

At his name, Sunoo tried to ignore everything he had hoped to grow used to over the past two years. It was hard when he caught Sunghoon's eyes, stuck on Sunoo with a look he couldn't take the time to decipher or else it would hurt even more.

"Bom." Misun began, turning her entire body towards the woman. "We wanted to thank you properly for all of the work you've put into the contract, especially in this past week."

"I love my job, it's really no trouble." Bom smiled back, reflecting none of Sunoo's lack of confidence. Tilting her head slightly, she continued, "I should be thanking you for letting my Sunoo stay."

"Please, we hardly knew he was here." Misun waved her off.

Amongst their conversation Sunoo felt very awkward, he didn't know if it was up to him to also thank Misun or to just continue pretending like he wasn't here. In the end he settled on the latter.

"I did," Bom said earnestly, "And it meant a lot to me that we could spend some more time together."

"Then do us the honour of accepting as a thanks." Sungwoo voiced, capturing everyone's attention. Well, everyone except for Sunoo who was still vaguely staring at the table and trying to digest the entire night.

"Accepting?"

"A promotion."

"Promotion?"

Sungwoo chuckled lowly, Misun following along. With a kind smile he explained, "We want to hire you full time as one of our lawyers."

Feeling proud, Sunoo looked to his Eomma with a wide smile, the latter still looking at Sungwoo with astonishment. Until now, she had only worked on select projects with The Park Institute, as well as many other companies.
