"Run, run!" Coach Chang yelled, clipboard gripped between his fingers.

There was only a couple of minutes left of the game and the large red numbers on the scoreboard told everyone home was currently winning - 101 points to 73.

Relatively certain they'd win, Sunghoon was already smiling as he ran across the court, not even paying attention to Chang as the man yelled at them to focus. He never seemed to relax, always on edge until the last second of the game.

Sunghoon always liked to listen to the crowd in these moments, when his confidence spiked and he could already hear them scream, could see the team all running together in victory, lifting Jay into the air - their ritual of throwing the captain around upon their victory. A smile covered his face, hand pushing through his hair as he made his way across the court.

Whenever Sunghoon began to doubt his love of basketball, he'd think of this feeling. The feeling of accomplishment, of doing something people loved, praised him for, felt proud of him for. Whenever Sunghoon would think of doing something else, this feeling would pull him back.

Jungwon scored another two points and another wave of cheers enveloped them all. Sunghoon smiled again, sweat sticking his hair to his forehead and making him push his hair out of his eyes once more. It was getting a little longer, making him repeat the action again quickly.

To his side, Sunghoon could hear the loud, rhythmic yells of the cheer team. Dae's voice was the loudest as she shook her pompoms, hands swinging as they energised the crowd.

Sunghoon would like to say he didn't let himself get distracted, didn't give in to the silent nagging, but then he'd be a liar. He gave in, eyes falling on the team, on the wide smiles and skilled movements. On his doe eyes and flushed cheeks.

Just then, as Sunghoon's head began to spin, Dae waved her pompoms, catching his attention. She smiled brightly, even flashing him a wink and Sunghoon was forgetting why he began to feel dizzy, laughing a little at her enthusiastic movements.

He waved back, as subtle as he could whilst Chang watched them all like hawks. He liked it. The ease of their interactions, how comfortable and happy they made him. Dae was smiling, cheering and loving every second. She always loved cheering, ever since they were little and she dragged him to all of her competitions. It was so easy to love Dae. So natural that Sunghoon knew that feeling would never change.

Suddenly, Dae was shouting, screaming even, pompoms shaking and legs lifting into the air as she jumped up and down. Then he was being pushed and shoved and squished between sweaty bodies. Opposed to the jarring shock he should have felt, Sunghoon began to laugh, knowing what must have happened whilst he became distracted.

When he looked up to find Jay in the air, body thrown up and down as the team all grabbed at him, Sunghoon's suspicions were affirmed. Distantly, he heard Chang cheering as well, leaving Sunghoon to hope he'd be too happy over their win to go too hard on them during practice next week.

"Sunghoon!" He heard, voice calling from behind him.

He fought his way through a few people to leave the crowd, smiling at a few of his teammates who patted him on the back and shoved him playfully. Then he was looking across the court to see Dae, the girl calling his name as she ran towards him. It was a sight he had grown very familiar with over the years, making him laugh as he preemptively lifted out his arms.

"You were amazing!" She declared as she dived into his arms, Sunghoon catching her, falling backwards and spinning around with the force.

Feet back on the ground and face still pushed into his shoulder, she praised him even further. "I saw all of your shots! I swear you get better and better every game."
