As they disappeared, Sunghoon laughing at their eagerness, Sunoo was left in a much smaller group. It was odd, he felt a little more exposed with there being less people to talk to. Especially considering one of the people was Sunghoon, directly to his side and acting like he didn't exist.

Their circle a little smaller, Jake told Sunghoon, "Your house is beautiful."

"Thank you, Jake." Sunghoon smiled, eyes still not on Sunoo. Sunoo wasn't used to that.

"I like it too." Sunoo then said, already regretting voluntarily speaking to Sunghoon, even before his answer.

"Thanks, Kim. I'm sure you like the company too, right?"

Taking all of his strength not to roll his eyes, Sunoo felt bitterness take over him as he confirmed, "Some of it."

Sharing a look of confusion, Jake and Jay both wondered why they seemed so subtly hostile. Honestly, Sunoo wondered the same thing. Yes, that was their normal, but today Sunghoon appeared like he had taken it up a step. Which was odd considering he had slowly been leveling down on his obvious hatred. Very, very slowly, but still.

"Okay..." Jay began, dragging out the word before he turned his attention onto Jake. "Well, you wanna go and see the band?"

"Sure, Hyung." Jake agreed before he looked over to Sunoo, eyes a little wide as he asked, "Unless you want me to stay with you?"

"Oh, no, no, Jake." Sunoo assured, both thankful that Jake had thought to ask and quick to let him enjoy the party too. "I'll be okay."

With that Jake and Jay left and Sunoo belatedly realised what he had just agreed to. Now, it was just him and Sunghoon. Alone. Awkwardly standing in the middle of his home and staring at anywhere but each other.

"So, you're-" Sunoo began, only for Sunghoon to interrupt him with a sigh, arms crossed as he turned his body to face him.

"Why are you here?"

That didn't make Sunoo want to leave at all.

"I was invited. By your parents."

"And you came?" Sunghoon asked like that notion was absurd.

Maybe Sunoo didn't have a right to be annoyed, but it was better than feeling hurt.

"What? Are you really that threatened by my presence?"

Scoffing, tongue licking over his lips, Sunghoon said, "This is my home. Remember I can kick you out whenever I want."

"Then do it." Sunoo challenged, stepping closer. They weren't so close to make people look, but they were certainly close enough for Sunoo to feel the need to step back.

Sunghoon opened his mouth to respond and Sunoo was sure that was it, he'd be told to leave and never return. But, seemingly speechless, Sunghoon closed his mouth again.

Before either of them could say anything else, someone called out, "Sunoo-ah?"

They both snapped their heads towards the voice, Sunoo doing a double take back to Sunghoon, wondering why he had been so eager to find who it was, then returning to the voice with complete confusion.

"Eomma?" Sunoo gaped, looking at his Eomma walk over to him with equal amounts of surprise, a white dress hitting her knees and her dark hair out of her face and clipped up at the back of her head.

"Eomma?" Sunghoon echoed, looking back to Sunoo and capturing his attention. He looked utterly baffled as he asked, "That's your Eomma?"

"Y-yeah... Why- Do you know her?" Sunoo asked, confusion knitting his brows together and making him forget how close they were still standing.
