Hairy disaster

( heya readers! ive been taking a break from the darker and sad fics recently to have more slice of life and fun fics. this silly fic is about how noodle in my comfort au got her messed up hair during phase 1. pretty simple but fun -w-. anyways please enjoy!)

     It was a pretty standard day in the studio. Murdoc was in the recording studio silently strumming a tune on his bass. He hadn't been doing his best mentally recently and honestly he just needed a quiet moment alone. He had his eyes closed as he listened to the bass fill the quiet studio with a lovely melody. It's hard to figure out if murdoc was strumming any song in particular. He just seemed to be letting his mind and fingers do as they wanted with the rhythm. Murdoc was just completely lost in a temporary but amazing momentary bliss.

Murdoc's smooth melody would suddenly be broken at the studio door creaking open. Murdoc would quickly snap out of his trance glancing to the door. 2d was at the door. 2d would notice murdoc alone with his bass feeling slightly bad that he accidentally ruined murdoc's jam session. He attempts to apologize knowing murdoc wasn't too fond of having his quiet moments ruined by any sort of unwanted sound. " s-sorry if i interrupted y-you murdoc-" murdoc would quickly cut off 2d as he sighed leaning his bass on his chair that he had been sitting on. " your fine stu ... .What's wrong? " 2d would quickly get his words together not wanting to waste much of Murdoc's time. '' me and russell are going to go get some groceries ...noodle didn't really want to come with so we were wondering if you don't mind keeping an eye on her while we're gone. I know we don't normally have you stay here with her by yourself but-" murdoc would gently cut off 2d once more knowing the poor guy would continue to ramble if he doesn't do so. He nods. " I'll keep an eye on noodle don't worry, stu. You and Russell just go get what we need. I can handle babysitting for a little while. " 2d would give a glad smile. He nodded as he thanked murdoc. " thanks murdoc. Will see you and noodle in a bit. " murdoc would simply nod as he watched 2d leave to go join russell outside the studio. 

   Murdoc sighed properly putting his treasured bass where it belongs before he walked out of the studio. It honestly felt weird to be mostly alone in the studio. Murdoc despite normally loving the silence....was a bit uneasy. Even when the studio was quiet you could at least hear the others walking around, chatting with each other, watching tv and just....breaking the silence with daily tasks. Murdoc decided to go check on noodle wanting to see what his niece was up to. He makes his way upstairs as his bare feet break the silence.

After walking through the slightly echoey hallways murdoc would make it to noodle's bedroom. He would gently knock on the door giving noodle a warning before he let himself inside. " heya kiddo. Russell and Stu told me that you didn't want to go shopping-" as murdoc walks in he notices that noodle was ... .agitated. He heard her yelling in pain in japanese. Despite not entirely knowing what she was saying he could tell that....she wasn't ok. He quickly makes it the rest of the way in wondering what his niece ended up doing to be so upset. 

     As Murdoc made his way in noodle's room he could finally see the culprit of this sudden agitation. Noodle had gum stuck in her hair. The poor young girl was trying to comb it out and it was just getting more and more stuck in her short black hair making it a knotted and tangled mess. Noodle would yell in her native language once more as she accidently pulled the brush down too hard and ripped out a few good hairs from her scalp. Murdoc felt himself cringe . Despite rarely combing his own hair he knew how painful it was to accidentally rip hair out when trying to get gel out of his hair when he was a teen. It was definitely not a fun experience to say the least.

Murdoc was quick to stop noodle from doing anymore damage to her hair knowing if she tried anymore that she was just going to make it worse. He walks over gently taking the brush now full of gum covered hair from noodle. " calm down kiddo. How did you get the gum in your hair in the first place?" noodle would look at murdoc. " I was trying to see how much gum I could fit in my mouth ...and then I tried to make a big bubble ... .it popped and got in my hair. "Noodle at this point looked like she wanted to burst into tears with her gum coated hair. Murdoc sighed....quickly debating in his head if he should wait for russell to get home...he was much better with noodle's hair then he ever is...even 2d could probably easily fix this....but at the same time...he could tell that noodle was really upset to have her hair ruined by a simple accident and waiting for russell would probably feel like hours to her. Murdoc would sigh, making a decision rather quickly. " Follow me to the bathroom kiddo. Let's see if I can get the gum out. "
