Sans POV

I was feeling very uneasy ever since the last reset. Frisk was taking too long to leave the ruins this time after many of her failed attempts to do a true genocide. This situation reminds me of being in the center of a difficult snowstorm, where one might be fooled by the temporary period of peace that the storm provides, not noticing the surrounding chaos concealed behind the peaceful scene.

When we were doing our regular check-in on the ruins one day, Frisk finally came out of the ruins. But this time, she acted very differently than before. If not for the resets, I would have believed she was a kind, sweet, and excitable child.

"Hey'a, n welcome ta the monster empire. We're the kashikoi kitsune tour guides n will be happy ta show ya 'round our empire," Mincho said with his usual happy-go-lucky tone to the kid.

She showed a very excited smile and then said, "It's a pleasure to meet you both. My name is Frisk."

(Bro, I don't like this. It feels like she's up ta somethin'. I jus' know it. She can't go from wantin' ta kill everyone ta wantin' ta be kind n friendly in jus' one reset,) Mincho said with skepticism in his voice through the mind link.

"Hey'a, it's Ice ta meet ya kiddo. My name is Supēdo n this is my younger twin brother Hōseki," I said to Frisk, with a bit of my usual laziness in my voice, and she laughed. She laughed-the demon who would become super irritated whenever we said a pun before just laughed at one of my puns.

(Yer right. She's up ta somethin'. That laugh of the kiddo was all kinds of fucked up,) I said back to Mincho.

"Hey, bro, chill out on the puns n save some fer me," Mincho said.

I closed my eye sockets and put my hands in my pockets. Afterwards, I leaned back on the heels of my feet, then opened one of my sockets and looked at him.

"Yer're snow match fer me, little bro. I'm the punniest skeleton between us, n ice puns are snow my best puns," I answered back.

Usually, this is when the kid would cut off Mincho before he could respond and ask us to stop making puns. But this time, she's just standing there smiling and giggling at us, which creeps me out a bit.

"I have snow doubt bout that. Yer're the one who taught me how ta make them, after all. Jus' snowballin' a thought here, but I believe we should stop makin' any more puns or else we'll be on thin ice with our little bro when he finds out we mixed puns in our introduction again. I think it's best we get this tour on the way whenever the little kiddo is ready," Mincho said to me, then looked at the kid.

"Oh, I'm ready whenever you guys are," Frisk said with a beaming smile.

"Looks like the kiddo is already to go. How bout ya, bro?" I asked Mincho.

"There's snow time like the present. Let's go," Mincho answered back.

"Arctic what ya preach, bro. Ya jus' told me we should stop makin' puns or else will be in trouble, but here yer're still makin' them, so I guess I won't stop either. We'll just have to be pun-ished together." I said with a smirk trying to hide my growing unease on Frisk new behavior.

Frisk kept giggling at my puns then she acted like she just realized something.

"I just realized you guys said you had another brother, what's he like?" She asked.

(Oh so ya wanna play dumb n act like ya never mat Paps?) I said in the mind link.

"Oh yeah, he's the best youngest brother anyone could ever have or want. Unlike us, he's obsessed with makin' puzzles, exercising, loves ta cook, takes great care of us, n refuses ta take naps. I don't know where we went wrong on that last part; how can anyone hate naps??" I said with a bit of exasperation in my tone.

"He's a bit of a trickster like us, too. He loves ta play pranks with us or on us sometimes. If we antagonize him 'nuff, he will become very snarky. When he's angry, he becomes aggressive, stern, n no-nonsense with us. Therefore, we try ta never give him the excuse or reason ta get angry with us.." Mincho, added with a forced small smile and a bit of a sweat drop on his mask, showing just how scared he was of an angry Papyrus.

I shivered at the memory of when we pushed Papyrus too far and made him very angry with us for the first time a long time ago. Pops also knows and has experienced that when Papyrus becomes angry with you, it is best either to lie down and accept your punishment or to try to run away from him for the rest of your life.

"Anyway, as long as ya don't make him angry, he's the best monster ta be 'round, be it fer a good prank or if ya jus' need someone ta talk ta. He's always the best; jus' ask captain undyne... Oh, but wait, ya don't know who that is yet. Well, that's fine; we'll jus' have'ta introduce the two of ya when we get ta Water Range on our tour later." Mincho continued after coming back to his senses.

While, he continues to talk with Frisk. I quickly shot a message to Papyrus through the mind link.

(Papyrus, the kiddo is here n is actin' different this reset; it's very weird n is creepin' both me n mincho out. Anyway, i want ya ta quickly informed pops bout this new development. I can tell she hasn't reflected on the sins she has committed before, n she's jus' actin' right now ta be kind n gentle.)

(Puff, what do you mean she is creeping you guys out? What can she possibly do due to two guardian specializing in combat and warfare?) Papyrus said as he tried and failed not to laugh at us.

(She is smilin' n laughin' at our puns, papy; it's fuckin' creepy.) Mincho interrupted while he was still talking to Frisk.

(What is she planning, a new kind of torture for both of you?) Papyrus said to us with shock in his voice.

(Like I was goin' ta say before ya almost burst out laughin' at yer brother's misfortune. We can tell she's up ta no fucking good, but we have no idea what's goin' on in that fucked-up head of hers.) I said as the first monster puzzle was just a little way ahead of us and Frisk ran right up to it with excitement on her face.

(I think we should jus' go on with our old act, bro. Now that she is actin’ like a normal kiddo fer once n is lettin’ us give her a tour this time, we should jus' act normal. But let's keep our guards up.) Mincho said in the mind link to me as he walked up to Frisk and started to explain the rules of the puzzle.

I watched as Frisk started to solve the puzzle with what I think she believes is a normal smile. Maybe others would believe that smile is normal for a human child, but to my family and me, we know that little shit's smile is as fake as fuck.

(Sigh, Well this is going to be a long day.) I said into the mind link.
