Chapter 29 Stacey Gets The Rest Of Her Surpise

Stacey and Mark and of course Maxine arrived at the venue they walked inside then Mark blindfolded Stacey he took her hands and led her into a room.

It was quite all Stacey could hear was her heart beating fast in her chest. Mark could tell she was anxious by the way her hands became sweaty and how tight she was gripping his hands.

He removed the blindfold Stacey just stood there she was beginning to understand what was going on and she turned to Mark with tears in her eyes and said

" I love it thank you but why?"

" Today on your special  day I wanted to prove to you and show you just how much I love you and how much you mean to me. I know I didnt handle things correctly in France or when we came back. So this is my way of saying sorry and showing you exactly who I am and how much I want you in my life"

Stacey looked around the room and out of no where she saw all her friends and they all began to sing happy birthday.

Staceys POV

I couldnt believe what Mark had done and Maxine to I am in total ore.

After everyone stopped sing happy birthday I said thank you to everyone.

The party started and before long I was the centre of attension again as the music stopped and Mark asked me to join him up on the stage.

" As you all may know this beautiful woman standing in front of me goes above and beyond for everyone else and doesn't ask for anything in return. Stacey you are my best friend and even though I haven't known you that long I have fallen hopelessly and completely in love with you. You are the air that I breath and I don't want to spend a second more of my life without you in it......... Will you MARRY ME?" Stacey looked at Mark and then at thier guest and she turned to Mark and said " I cant" and she ran out the room.

" I Dont believe he just did that how could he. He knows I'm still married but what makes it worse was that my best friends in the whole world was there and apart from Maxine I hadn't told anyone else about the divorce yet. Why would he choose to embarrass me like this."

I could hear him running towards me calling my name but I just had to out of there and I don't know just breath. The faster I ran the more I needed air he was still calling my name I wanted to stop...... I want to turn around........
I want him to pull me into his arms but my feet wouldn't stop nor would my needed for air as I was grasping for it I reached the front door of the venue and I just stood there. I took a deep breath and my eyes filled up with water I felt his hand touch my shoulder he was breathing hard as he had to run after me. I managed to turn and face him and I wished I never because the hurt in his eyes just killed every bit of me.

He said nothing just pulled me into his arms like he understood and he kissed me on my forehead. At that moment I looked up into his tear filled eyes and kissed his lips still no words said.

After our little moment Mark and I went back to the party. Everyone was just stiring at us like we had something on our face. Mark sensed how uncomfortable it was making me having everyone's eyes on me so he decided to make a joke and say " Ok lets continue this party DJ hit it" everyone started laughing and the DJ started the music and we dance, drank ate until wee hours of the morning.

The next afternoon I woke up in a strange room I turned to my left and I saw Mark still asleep.

He must of sensed me looking at him because grabbed me and pulled me towards him and kissed me. " Good Morning beautiful" he said I laughed and gave him a playful slap

" Where am I?"

" Your in my bed in my apartment how about some breakfast" he said with a cheeky smile on his face I pulled out of his hold and got out of bed and said " What are you waiting for mister I am starving" He laughed and got out of bed and walked into the bathroom.

I went to join him in the shower. After our shower we got dressed and went downstairs.

When we arrived downstairs I could already smell bacon we walked into the kicthen there in front of the stove stood Maxine with a big smile on her face

" I wondered when you two love birds was going to get up?"

I looked at Mark and then back at Maxine I Dont remember much from last night so I just bursted out laughing.

I walked over to Maxine and slapped her butt and said " Since when I answer to you Missy and anyway when did you get here and how did you know I was here?"

"Get here Stacey you really don't remember do you Mark invitied me to stay last night after we brought you drunk arse home"

I couldn't help laughing and then I said " Well is breakfast ready yet because I could eat a house"

Mark and Maxine just brust out laughing then she turned to Mark and said " Now you see what I have to deal with you sure you want her, with her bossy self"

" Of course I do I love my baby and even when she's bossy but even more when shes drunk "

" See I love you too baby boo" I said to Mark slapping Maxine across her head.

We all sat down to have breakfast and then after breakfast Mark and I went back upstairs.

I tried to mention last night and why I acted like that but Mark just put his fingers on my lips and said

" You Dont have to explain I understand my timing was off it's ok I will wait until your ready baby".

I couldnt help but smile and think to myself how did I get so lucky after everything with John.

Mark POV
I was so happy that Stacey finally said the L word at breakfast but also shocked as it was the first time I didn't expect her to say it. Well not after her reaction last night to my proposal. Now we are back in bed and she was trying to explain her reaction last but I was sure if I am ready to her it and I don't want to spoil the little time we have left fighting so I place my finger on her lips and told her " Baby you don't have to explain I understand my timing is off it's ok I will wait until your ready

Even though I am hurt and disappointed the truth is I totally do understand her reaction and I don't ever want to lose her so I  will have to swallow my pride and just wait until she is ready and she knows she can 100% trust me and I will prove it to her just you wait and see she will be my wife one day I know that.
