cordelia awoke from her nap with over ten text messages from an unknown number, which happened to frighten her just a tad. she unlocked her phone and her stomach dropped, butterflies filling the void of emptiness.

unknown

hey, cordelia.

sorry that seemed creepy.

it's carlos.

i probably should of said that before.

i got your number from ben.

i was wondering if you wanted to maybe, go to the coronation with me?

as in letting me be your date?

i mean it's alright if you have other plans.

or just don't want to go with me.

completely up to you.

sorry it's also a bit late.

well, i'm gonna go now.

i'll see you tomorrow?

i'd love to carlos. it would be an honour to go to the coronation with you as your date.

wait really?!

yes, silly. i would love to.

i'll see you later <3

cordelia got out of bed and slipped on her slippers, making her way over to her wardrobe. she opened her wardrobe, running a hand down her dress admiring it's beauty. it was a beautiful light purple colour, with a corset made out of lace and floral appliques. evie had made it for her and it was perfect.

she was so excited for the day to come, not only was she watching her best friend become king, cordelia had a date with carlos! a knock from her door made her jump and rush over to open it.

"blondie, i can't do this." it was ben and he hadn't given her a second to greet him before rushing into her room. cordelia shut her door and turned to ben with a confused expression. "i can't be king!"

cordelia let out a little chuckle. "yes you can ben! you have already done so much for auradon with just one proclamation, imagine what else you will be able to do!"

ben just shook his head. "i'm only sixteen, there is no way i can do this."

"benny, everyone knows you can do it. your parents know you can do it otherwise they would of postponed your coronation. the only person who doesn't think you can do this, is you." she spoke confidently with a smile, taking a seat next to ben.

he turned to look at her, smiling a little. "but what if i can't. what if i make a mistake?"

"so what!? do you seriously think your parent's haven't made mistakes as king and queen?" cordelia chuckled, getting a small laugh from ben. "mistakes make you human ben. but i think, if you follow your heart like you have with bringing the vk's here, you will make the perfect king."

"are you sure?" ben questioned, he knew his best friend was always right and in this situation her words meant the world. he could do this and he knew it, everyone knew it.

"yes!" cordelia gushed, a huge smile on her face.

"yeah, yeah. your right." ben chuckled, shaking his head at his own stupidity. "thank you cords."
