it had been a few months since ben's coronation, both carlos and cordelia had continued to stay well.. whatever they were. with the occasional kiss here and there, sleepover or two but there were still no labels. he wasn't her boyfriend and she wasn't his girlfriend.
during those few months, cordelia turned sixteen but ultimately decided to post pone her crowning and coronation. at least until she had graduated, her parents were doing a perfect job running the kingdom and were in the right place to continue to do so.
although, she does feel bad cordelia knows it's the right thing to do for her future kingdom. the thought of being a queen at only sixteen was a lot. luckily, for the girl her parents were very understanding and knew it was best for their daughter and corona.
cordelia's eyes snapped open at the high pitched sound of her phone ringing, she reached over to her bedside table after carefully removing carlos's arm from around her waist and slipped out from under the blankets.
"hello?" she whispered, slipping on her slippers and walking out into the hallway. the blonde tugged on her pyjama shorts while awaiting a response. "no, i am terribly sorry. you're going to have to contact my parents about this matter. no, i am not queen. oh, uh not yet. yes, i know but i am still studying and would like to finish school before taking on that role."
the person on the other end of the line was asking questions about an upcoming event in corona. at this point, cordelia was used to the call or two, here and there but she was starting to feel like she was disappointing everyone.
"yes, i understand my parents are hard to reach but i assure you, i am at school in auradon and have no part in this event. i'm sorry to disappoint you." cordelia said, her tone growing soft before chuckling at the ladies words 'will you ever be queen? you would do such a good job'. "yes, one day. have a good day, thank you. sorry again."
the girl hung up, and saw another call incoming. cordelia looked down at her phone and her mother's contact. this time, she smiled and answered it quickly. "hi mum." she chirped, hearing her dad complaining about the weather in the background. "tell dad i say hi and that i disagree this warm weather has been lovely."
rapunzel laughed, turning to look over at her husband shutting all the castle windows. "how have you been flower?"
cordelia once again felt herself smile, her mind going to the sleeping boy in her dorm. "i have been amazing." she chuckled. "although, i keep getting calls from people in corona."
"oh, darling. don't listen to them, they are just excited for you and this huge step. don't let them pressure you into anything. you are only young and have your whole life ahead of you."
"thank you mum." cordelia smiled. "how have you guys been?"
"oh, everything has been so well. it is gorgeous here all the flowers are blossoming." her mother spoke, in a dreamy tone.
"makes us miss you even more!" her dad called out, his voice and words only just audible.
"i miss you guys too." cordelia laughed, trying to keep her voice down.
meanwhile, carlos had woken up to find cordelia missing from besides him. he pulled himself up, looking around the room for his favourite blonde girl before noticing that the door was slightly open. he smiled, hearing her voice and jumped up, throwing a shirt on.
the white headed boy made sure to be quiet and creeped up behind the girl, throwing his arms over her shoulders. cordelia jumped, clenching her chest before laughing and placing a kiss on his cheek and mouthing a 'good morning.'
"yes, i'm still here mum." cordelia chuckled, rolling her eyes jokingly towards her phone.
"do you mind if i go help your dad and maximus from breaking yet.. another vase?" her mum said, trying to suppress her laughter at how silly her husband was.
"yes, of course mum. go help them and tell dad i said hi!" she said, trying to stop herself from laughing. she was really missing her parents and her kingdom.
"tell carlos i said hi too, i know he's with you." rapunzel laughed, she just knew her daughter too well.
cordelia turned to face the smiling boy. "mum says hi." she whispered.
"hi!" he said cheerfully, leaning closer to her ear and the phone. cordelia finished her phone call with her mother, placing her phone into her pyjama shorts.
cordelia wrapped her arms around his neck. "hi." she breathed out.
"hi." he smiled, leaning forward and placing a quick peck on her lips. "so.."
"so.. this morning i have to go finish something with ben but this afternoon.." cordelia smiled, unwrapping her arms from around his neck and placing a hand on his chest. "i'm all yours."

"i've done the basic sketch, outline but i just need your help picking some paint colours." cordelia said, walking back and forth in front of ben while reading off of her small note pad.
"thank you blondie." ben smiled, trying not to laugh as he watched cordelia pace around the room anxiously. "it means a lot that you could make time for me and do this for me and mal."
"it's okay ben, of course." cordelia stopped pacing and grabbed a paper from her desk. it was a bunch of green's she had sampled for ben to pick for mal's eyes, along with one set of purples for her hair. "i just need your help picking the green for her eyes and the purple for her hair."
she held out the purple one first, with two shades of purple on it. "which one for her hair?" she handed it to him and he studied them closely.
"this one." he handed it back to her and she quickly circled the one he had chosen.
"thank you." she chirped, now giving him the paper filled with lots of green paint swatches. "now for her eyes, it's a little more difficult. there's just so many greens."
this time it took ben a little longer to study the paper, looking and admire each shade of green trying to find the perfect match. "this one. it's perfect." ben held up the paper, pointing to the brightest shade of green on the page.
"i thought you'd like that one." cordelia chuckled. "okay, well. i will get to painting. thank you so much."
"thank you cordie." ben smiled, getting up from his spot on the end of her bed. he pulled her into a quick hug before looking down at his watch. "i have to go i'm so late for my meeting, thank you again!" he yelled rushing out of the room while waving.
cordelia laughed, once more grateful she had post poned her coronation. that poor boy was running around like a crazy person. she circled the paint sample ben had selected and looked at her phone, they had finished just in time for her to see the end of carlos's fencing training.
the blonde slipped on some shoes and grabbed her phone before beginning her way to the amphitheater and on her way she saw lonnie, sneak into the boy's changing room.
