cordelia walked slowly towards audrey, seeing her stand alone with her grandmother. "audrey?" she called out, in a soft tone.

audrey turned towards the sound, her eyes softening when they laid on the smiling blonde haired girl. cordelia's breath caught in her throat for a moment, completely forgetting what she was about to do.

"i'm glad to see you on your feet." cordelia smiled, audrey returned the gesture walking slowly towards her.

"cords, i just really want to apologise. i'm really sorry, for everything. for hurting you and-" audrey began, rambling on before cordelia cut her off.

"i'm okay, audrey." she smiled, placing a hand on her shoulder. "i'm just happy that your doing okay."

audrey's eyes softened, tears forming in her eyes. cordelia wrapped her arms around audrey, giving her a hug. "it's okay to not be okay, audrey." she mumbled, as they felt a sense of relief wash over them.

the girls separated from their hug, giving each other a kind smile. "thank you, cords. i, i really mean it." audrey said gratefully.

they shared one more smile before audrey made her way back towards her grandmother. cordelia smiled, walking back over to carlos and standing back in line with him.

"are you okay?" carlos whispered, his hands resting gently on her waist.

"yeah, i'm okay." she said, reassuring him with a big smile.

"if i was you, i would have at least slapped her." carlos mumbled, causing cordelia to laugh.

cordelia gasped, realising what he had said slapping him lightly on the chest. she leaned in, placing a quick peck on his lips. as she pulled away, he leaned forward seeking a longer kiss.

she laughed to herself, leaving her hand resting on his chest while his hand rested on her waist. "there they are." evie smiled, spotting ben and mal's arrival.

ben and mal emerged from the archway below the balcony, waving at the crowd before joining belle, beast and fairy godmother on the balcony.

carlos smiled at cordelia, who was cheering and clapping for her best friends along with the crowd, before joining in himself.

the crowds cheers began to die down. "lady mal and i want to thank you for celebrating our engagment with us today. i couldn't be prouder or happier to call you my queen." ben said, looking at mal with a proud smile.

"so, raise your glasses, to our future queen of auradon," he finished, raising his glass.

"to our queen of auradon!" the crowd repeated, raising their glasses above their heads.

"speech, your specialness!" carlos called out.

"speech, your fancy one!" jay added in a weird fancy accent.

mal laughed along with the large crowd before she stopped and watched the crowd. cordelia and evie share a worried glance, the blonde then turned to carlos who was already looking at her.

"what is going on?" she whispered.

"i don't know," he whispered back, before the two directed their gaze up at mal.

"i can't," mal stated, causing the large crowd to gasp and mutter amongst each other in shock and confusion. "i can't be queen of auradon." she continued.

"mal?" ben whispered to her, a confused look spread across his face.

"i can't turn my back on the isle." she whispered back. "we made a decision to close the barrier forever." mal announced, cordelia looked towards dizzy and the twins. dizzy just looked confused, while the twins looked both heartbroken and devastated.

"and it was my idea, but it's wrong." mal continued, evie smiled up at her best friend with teary eyes reaching out and grabbing cordelia's hand. "i've learned, that you can't live in fear because it doesn't actually protect you from anything."

mal chuckled with tears in her eyes, before going on. "you never know where the bad is going to come from and you never know where the heroes are going to come from either. without uma and her pirates, auradon would be gone." the core four, nodding along as mal continued.

"and without hades, my father," mal went on, hearing gasps and murmuring in the crowd. "audrey would be gone. we are all capable of good and bad, no matter which side of the barrier we come from,"

"and thats why i can't be queen of just auradon. i have to be queen of the isle, too, and it's time that we take the barrier down forever." she said, softly turning back towards ben.

beast gave his wife a look before jumping in. "we can't do that."

"it's up to us, dad." ben said, turning his full attention to mal, who smiled widely up at him.

"i choose to be a king who moves forward. it's time for forgiveness, it's time for new beginnings," he then turned towards the crowd. "the barrier will come down!" he cheered.

"yes!" carlos cheered loudly, causing cordelia and the rest of the crowd to burst out into laughter.

"bring it down, mal." ben whispered, leaning in for a kiss.

the crowd below began to loudly clap and cheer, mal smiled down at her friends before motioning for them to join her and ben. jay and evie started to walk up, evie giving the couple a quick look, signalling them to hurry up. the two quickly followed behind, as all four of them joined ben and mal.

fairy godmother smiled, handing mal the wand. "to make the world a better place," mal started.

"we have to do it face to face," the core four said together, while ben and cordelia stood behind them. mal waved the wand, sending a gold spark flying through the air.

"thank you ben," cordelia said, giving him a hug. "for making this dream come true."

"thank you for being my best friend, through all this and supporting me no matter what." he replied, as they separated from their hug.

the barrier that surrounded the isle was then brought down, the large swarm of grey clouds that always seemed to permanently hover the isle began to fade away. a bricked bridge then began to form in between auradon and the isle.

cordelia went back to stand next to carlos, placing a hand on his shoulder. he gasped, watching as the new changes happened, placing a hand over his mouth. cordelia watched as the people from the isle, made their way across the new bridge. she was more than happy to see everyone get their happily ever afters that they all deserved so dearly.

there was a moment of silence, before cordelia spun carlos around making him look at her. "can i admit something?" she asked, feeling the moment build up. he nodded and she went on. "i'm actually really nervous to meet your mum."

he laughed softly, grabbing her hand and opening his mouth to speak when he is cut off. "you're nervous?!" they turned to look at dude, who sat on the stairs. "his mum is cruella de'vil, i'm petrified!"

the two laughed, before the white haired boy pulled cordelia closer. "wait 'til she hears i want to be a vet."

cordelia smiled, bending down and picking dude up holding the small dog on her hip. carlos chuckled, placing a hand over dude's eyes and placing a peck on her lips.
