the now group of nine, walked through the courtyard in a comfortable silence. "they're asleep." evie spoke, as cordelia and mal both tried despertely to get a hold of ben or jane. "everyone."
"i can't get ben."
"i can't reach jane, the signal's out." cordelia sighed, putting her phone back into her pocket. "do you think she's still at her party?"
"if she sleeping." uma muttered from behind, causing cordelia and carlos to snap their heads in her direction, sending her a glare. in an act of protection, carlos snaked his arm around his girlfriends waist, holding her close to his side.
"is that auradon prep?" celia asked, pointing towards the castle.
"yeah," carlos said. "and when everybody wakes up, you're gonna love it."
"yes!" celia celebrated, punching her fist out in excitement before doing a little dance.
"do you think i should go find jane? see if she's still at the enchanted lake? maybe she was able to escape audrey." cordelia suggested, worrying for her dear friend.
"if you think it's best." mal said.
"you can't go alone," carlos added. "what if something happens to you? and no ones there to stop audrey.." his voice trailed off.
"i promise, i'll be safe." she smiled, her voice growing quiet. "i just need to make sure she's okay."
"okay." carlos breathed out. "please, be careful."
"i always am," the blonde chuckled, placing a kiss on his cheek.
"so cords is going to go find jane, we'll see if we can find audrey or ben." mal said to their small group, while harry, uma and gil walked around the courtyard, taking in their new environments.
cordelia gave her boyfriend a last quick peck, before running off to find jane. she headed straight through the woods, being overly aware and cautious that audrey was out and wanting her revenge.
once she had arrived at the enchanted lake, cordelia saw a mist of vibrant pink smoke and immediately she knew audrey had been there. she used her hand to fan the smoke away, the blonde used her palm and covered her nose, blocking out the spell.
scanning the area once more, she spotted jane who was very much awake. "jane!" she gasped, running full speed towards her, engulfing her in a hug.
"i thought you weren't coming." jane said, with a cough. "oh! audrey has the,"
"scepter, yeah. i heard about that." cordelia chuckled, finishing her sentence. she looked over jane's shoulder, noticing everyone was fast asleep. "w, when did that happen?"
"not too long ago, i dived into the enchanted lake." jane said, watching as cordelia approached one of her sleeping classmates. "we should find ben."
the two girls walked through the forest in an comfortable silence until jane pipped up. "so," she began, with a laugh.
"so?"
"how have you and carlos been?" she asked. jane by far, was their biggest supporter, she still longed to find the right person for her. "you guys are one of the cutest couples in auradon!"
"we've been good, he asked me officially to be his girlfriend after cotillion." cordelia told the very excited girl.
"have you said the," jane paused, figuring out how to word it. "the L word?"
cordelia felt herself go a little tense. "uh, no. i mean i think he almost said it but he just, didn't?"
"do you," jane paused again. "love him?"
