once arriving at the amphitheatre she spotted jane and some other cheerleaders watching practice. "hey jane!" cordelia smiled, walking over and standing next to the girl.

"hey cords!" jane said ecstatically, with her usual big friendly smile.

cordelia looked over the balcony and saw carlos, his eyes lit up and smiled to the girl. who returned the smile with a wave.

"alright boys, let's line it up." jay declared, the boy's pairing up. "carlos, you're with me."

"assembler." the boy's swords went down. "salute." they then brought their swords to their masks. "lower the point, masks down. en garde." as the boy's began, cordelia watched in confusion. nothing about jumping around with a sword made sense to her, but whatever made her favourite freckled guy happy.

it was hard to keep track of who was fighting who, you couldn't see their faces and they all appeared the same due to the padding and the amount of working out they all did. not that cordelia was complaining, if you know what she means.

cordelia chuckled to herself, snapping out of her trance and looking back at the boy's, then out of no where someone jumped in. almost everyone had gotten out and it was now just jay and the mystery person left.

suddenly, her mind went to seeing lonnie go into the changing rooms. she managed to take jay's sword from him and when he got it back, he stopped.

the mystery fighter removed her mask and shook her hair out from her face. "it's lonnie!"

the cheerleaders and cordelia all cheered and clapped for lonnie, she had also earnt cheers from members of the team. jay sent her a small grin and nodded. "not bad."

"you should put me on the team." lonnie said, with a shrug.

then out of almost no where, chad came running up. "hey. what?! no, no, no. we'll, we'll be the laughing stock of the league! and what's gonna happen next? we'll have girls playing tourney." chad laughed, looking around the room at the disapproving looks. "oh, come on guys!"

"so?" jay asked, not understand the words that came out of chad's mouth.

cordelia turned to jane, sharing a look. "so, uh. so have you not read the rule book? section two, paragraph three, eleven four. 'a team will be comprised of a captain and eight men.' hm?" he shoved the book in everyone face's, while the girls along with lonnie rolled their eyes.

"okay, yeah. but you're down a man!" lonnie exclaimed, earning nods from the others. "i mean, since ben had to leave to do all that king stuff."

"exactly." chad began in a snotty tone. "we're down a man."

"jay.." lonnie sent him a sad look, if it was up to cordelia she would let lonnie on in a heart beat. she's the best chance they have.

"i'm sorry, coach trusts me. i'm not going stay captain if i just throw out the rule book." jay got between chad and carlos, looking at lonnie with apologetic eyes.

"if my mother thought that way, she would have lost the war." lonnie scoffed, before turning on her heel and leaving. chad continued to flash the rule book behind her, what a jerk.

"alright guys. practice is over." jay announced. "let's go." one by one the cheerleaders started to leave.

cordelia went to turn but stopped when she heard carlos calling out her name. she smiled and went back over to the railing, leaning against it a little.

"hey, good job out there." dude then came running in and jumped up onto one of the blue and yellow blocks next to the one carlos was standing on. "hi dude." she chuckled. "so, what's up?"
