Halloween and Christmas came sooner than expected. The whole campus was decorated in beautiful lights and colourful lanterns as the night sky shined ever so brightly. All the students enjoyed and laughed together as they celebrated the fun and festivities. There was laughter and smiles everywhere as students took turns for group photos and also signed books and diaries for one another. This year's batch was extra bouncy just because the semester was going to end early and by next year's January, everyone will have gone, away to find their bright future beyond their own comprehension.
Yunho leaned back in his chair, taking a sip of his drink as he glanced over at Wooyoung with a curious expression. "So, Wooyoung, what's the plan with you and Seonghwa once you go back to Korea?" he asked, his tone casual yet probing.
Wooyoung furrowed his brow, his thoughts drifting to the uncertain future that awaited him and Seonghwa. "I'm not really sure, Yunho," he admitted, swirling the liquid in his glass absentmindedly. "I mean, we've had an amazing time together here in Canada, but going back to Korea... things might be different."
Yunho nodded understandingly, his expression sympathetic. "Yeah, I get what you mean. Long-distance relationships can be tough, especially when you're so far apart," he replied, his voice tinged with empathy.
Wooyoung sighed, feeling a pang of uncertainty gnaw at his heart. "I don't want things to change between us, but I also don't know how we're going to make it work," he confessed, his voice tinged with apprehension.
Yunho reached out to pat Wooyoung's shoulder reassuringly. "Hey, whatever happens, just remember that you and Seonghwa have something special. If it's meant to be, you'll find a way to make it work," he said, offering a supportive smile.
Wooyoung offered a weak smile in return, grateful for Yunho's comforting words. "Thanks, Yunho. I guess I'll just have to take it one step at a time and see where life takes us," he replied, his tone determined yet hopeful.
Yunho sipped his drink as he turned to Wooyoung.
" Lately, I've noticed that Seonghwa is being distant with you. Like he isn't here with you when important things happen. Like he wasn't here when your exams started or ended and now I haven't seen him for neither Halloween and not even today's Christmas Eve dinner. Why is it so?"
Wooyoung sighed as he stared at the night sky, drink tossing in his hand.
" Seonghwa's probably busy. After his success at the Vogue Young Fashionistas competition, many important people are approaching him for deals and stuff. Plus, he's not distant with me. At the dorm, he's pretty much clingy and a pain in the ass."
Wooyoung giggled.
Yunho listened intently to Wooyoung's explanation, his brow furrowing with concern as he processed his friend's words. "I get that fashion is demanding, but it just seems like Seonghwa's been pulling away lately," he remarked, his tone filled with genuine worry.
Wooyoung sighed, feeling a pang of sadness at Yunho's observation. "I've noticed it too," he admitted, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "But I also know how passionate Seonghwa is about his studies. He's always been dedicated to his craft, and I don't want to hold him back."
Yunho nodded understandingly, his expression sympathetic. "It's a tough situation to be in, Wooyoung," he replied, his voice tinged with empathy. "But at the end of the day, your happiness matters too. You shouldn't have to sacrifice your own needs for someone else's dreams."
Wooyoung chewed on his lip, his mind swirling with conflicting emotions. "I know," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "But I also don't want to give up on us without giving it a real shot. If Seonghwa's not ready for a long-distance relationship, I'll understand. But I won't make any decisions until we've had a chance to talk about it."
