A few days later, Erin was sitting at her desk, when an officer came up to her.
"May I help you?"
"Mrs. Halstead, right?"
"Detective Halstead."
"Detective, we have some information you may want."
"What about?"
"That fire the other day, the one that Casey kid was rescued from?"
"What about it?"
"It was arson."
"Then go tell arson investigation."
"I'm going to you for one reason."
"What's that?"
"We believe your son started it."
"My son is not an arsonist! Get out of this office!"
"I can't, we need to speak to him."
"Like hell you will! Get out of here before Voight shows up and throws you out."
"You're gonna get daddy to do your work for you?"
"I swear to god I will kick you down the stairs."
"What's the problem here?" Kim asked, walking up the stairs.
"They're accusing Jonah of starting the fire at the Bennett residence."
Kim raised an eyebrow. "You're joking, right?"
"We're gonna need to speak with him."
"We'll handle this."
"I'm sorry, um..."
"Get out of here."
"We'll need to speak with him."
"I said we'll handle it. Do you not listen?!"
"You will not be handling this case."
"And why not?"
"He is the son of detectives in this unit. You'll kick him off the charge."
"Unless you have proof that he did it, get out!"
"I will not be going anywhere until Jonah is sitting in that interrogation room."
"We have a pair of latex gloves with his fingerprints on them."
"Are you f-."
"ERIN."
"Call him and get him down here, or I'll have both your badges."
"The day you get my daughter's badge is the day she's dead." Christopher said, coming out of the exit by Nadia's desk.
"And who are you?"
"Officer Burgess."
"What affiliation do you have with this unit?"
"What business is it of yours?"
"I'm investigating this unit."
"I'm Kim's father. Now if you don't mind, would you like to tell me why you're badgering my daughter and Erin?"
"Jonah is under investigation for arson."
"You got a lot of nerve coming up here and wronging them, Santos. I told you to give it up!"
"No one said anything about an arrest."
"Get out of here, we're not telling you again!"
"Dad, come on." Kim grabbed his arm and pulled him into the break room.
