A few days had passed, but luck was with them. They only spent a couple days in the hospital, leaving with their arms in slings.
Trudy came fuming up the stairs and into the Intelligence office. Everyone jumped at the loud thunder of her steps.
"Do any of you lovely ladies want to tell me why I just found a pregnancy test in the trash?"
Jay looked at Erin, Erin looked at Kim, Kim looked at Nadia, Nadia looked at Leslie and Leslie looked at Clarice.
"Well?"
Instead of answering her, they kept exchanging glances.
"I'm giving you guys about five seconds to answer me, before I write something embarrassing about you in the newsletter."
"It's probably Kim!" Clarice pointed out.
"Oh why does everyone always think it's me?!"
"Adam doesn't know how keep it in his pants for one."
"Shut up, Erin!"
She laughed to herself. "Well he doesn't."
"I was shot a few days ago and my arm is in a sling, I'm not even thinking about that!"
"Liar!"
"ERIN! HUSH!"
"No but seriously, who put this there?"
"Sarge, it wasn't any of us. Honest."
"Cut the crap, Nadia. You've been sick, are you sure it wasn't you?"
"For goodness sakes, I'm on my period! It wasn't me!"
"Erin?"
"Hey whoa whoa whoa HEY. I'm done having kids. I got one of each and that's what I wanted."
"Leslie?"
"It obviously wasn't me because I don't like d-"
Kim slammed her hand over her mouth. "What she means to say is it's not her because she doesn't have sex with guys."
"It's not me because I'm not married and I don't have a boyfriend." Clarice said, adjusting her uniform belt.
"If it's not any of you, who could it be?"
"Maybe it's you." Nadia said, sitting down at her desk.
"My son's a senior in college and is on his way to the academy. I stopped doing that crap a LONG time ago."
"If it's not any of us, then who could it be?"
Kim looked over at Antonio. "Maybe it's Laura."
"Her and I have two grown kids, that's enough."
"Maybe it's YOU." Leslie said.
"It's not me! Will everyone shut up about that?!"
"We're just joking around."
The guys left, not wanting to hear anymore of this girl talk.
"Okay, the guys are gone. Whoever it is, fess up." Clarice said, looking around the room.
Nadia took a deep breath and stood up. "It's me, okay?"
Everyone looked at her.
"What?! With who?!"
"Kevin and I have been together for coming up on six years now. I'm worried because I'm, you know...late?"
"Late?"
