I heard my door open. It was Ren. She looked concern. I must have woken her up. Great. At least her scary brother wasn't with her. I put on a brave face so she wouldn't be so worried.
"Are you okay? I heard you screaming? It sounded like you just saw a grandpa in a thong, so I came to make sure I didn't miss all the fun," Ren said. Even though she was joking, she still had concern in her eyes.
"Just nightmares. And wish me good luck if I want to go back to bed, since you gave me that lovely image, that won't scar me for life," I say, actually worried about it. Ren snickered. I realized she was wearing glasses. She was very pretty with glasses. She must of had contacts earlier. "Your quite pretty with your glasses. You were pretty before though, but I think you look better with glasses."
Ren looked startled. Also embarrassed that I saw her with her glasses. "Thank you... Are you sure you're okay?" Ren said. She really was nice, but she reminded me too much of her. I closed my eyes. "I'm okay, I promise," I said without emotion.
She looked surprised but walked towards the door. "Oh, and Phoenix?" Ren said, "Good luck," Ren said this, giving me a mischievous smile. She disappeared an closed the door, just as a pillow nearly hit her head. I could hear her laughing. I had a feeling we could be friends. Not could, would.
That decision became one of my best choices I ever made.
