Season 1 Episode 1: Rise of the Snakes

"Long before time had a name, the First Spinjtizu Master created Ninjago using Four elemental weapons, but when he passed, a dark presence sought out to collect them all. Lord Garmadon. So I, Sensei Wu, his brother sought four ninja to collect them first, with help from my son to prevent his return."

In the monastery of spinjtizu Wu mediates on the ground, while he does, he begins to head the ninja making combat sounds in another room
"Fire strike! Oh, my gosh is that the greatest move you've ever seen?." Kai asked muffled
"Stop trying to do it yourself. We need to attack as a team." Cole said muffled
Wu gets up and walks to the training compound only to find (Y/N) doing some meditating poses
"Looking for the others I'm guessing?." (Y/N) asked as Wu who heard Jay
"Zane why are you wasting your special attack on me? You have to save it." Jay said muffled as Wu walked into a different room with (Y/N) seeing them play video games
"Fantastic im out of lives!." Jay groaned
"But the lesson lives on, and I am getting the hang of it. Hee-yah!." Zane cried as he continued to play
"Okay, now!." Cole yelled as they continued to play, (Y/N) watching with entertainment while Wu unplugs the Tv
"Aw..." the ninja groaned including (Y/N) who just gained some interest
"What? What happened?." Jay asked panicked
"It took us three hours to get there!." Cole yelled madly
"Why would you do that? Why?." Jay asked
"Just because Lord Garmadon escaped through a vortex doesn't mean he won't return one day for the Golden Weapons of Spinjtizu." Wu said reasoning with them
"Yeah I have to agree with Sensei." (Y/N) said as Zane spoke up
"But Sensei Wu, ever since he's been gone, Ninjago has had nothing but peace." Zane said
"Yeah I have to agree with Zane there." (Y/N) said looking at Wu
"We can train tomorrow." Cole said trying to relax
"Never put off until tomorrow what can be done today." Wu said being wise
"Yeah I have to agree with Sensei-
"Pick a side man!." Jay yelled at (Y/N) who sheepishly chuckled
"Well, I was going to eat this pizza tomorrow, so if that's the case...
Wu kicked the pizza out of Cole's hand
"Ow!." Cole groaned
"No pizza for you! In order to reach your full potential, you must train." Wu said as (Y/N) thought about that
"Uh remember when we did a little thing called the Tornado of Creation? I thought that was pretty insane." Kai said
"I can only image what the Tornado of Destruction looks like." Zane wondered
"Oh you five merely have scratched the surface of your full potential. There are still so many secrets you have yet to unlock, you haven't even begun to tap into what powers your golden weapons hold, and as for you (Y/N) what the ahead lies for you to reach your full potential is yet to be known." Wu said making (Y/N) nod
As this was being said Kai's sword is seen burning a pizza slice
"You wanna talk secret powers? Check this out." Cole said as he plugged the tv again allowing the ninja to play their game again making Wu annoyed while (Y/N) watched in amazement, quickly shaking his head he went to leave only to bump into Nya
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry Nya." (Y/N said helping her up
"Don't worry about me, something just came up." Nya said as she walked in the room in panic
"Guys, Lord Garmadon. He's returned! He was spotted approaching Jamanakai Village!." Nya yelled as the four scrambled to get up and grab their weapons, meanwhile (Y/N) already ran out 
Nya hands Jay his nunchucks, as he sheepishly laughed
"Uh... thanks." Jay smiled as Nya told him to hurry to which he ran out with the others the four, as the five made it to the dragon stables they got ready to get on, unfortunately they show signs of unfitness as the dragon door hits Zane's head while Cole's drops his weapon as he got on his dragon, Jay fails to mount his dragon as Wu watches in unbelief with (Y/N)
"I wish I had a dragon." (Y/N) said watching them fail
"Uh can I help?." Nya asked
"Sorry sis, where we go, danger abounds, this is a job for a ninja." Kai said as he failed to grab his dragons reins
"Uh.... A little help? Heh-heh." Kai asked sheepishly as Nya passes it to him annoyed as (Y/N) went to mount Flame (Kai's new dragon name) he looks at Nya
"Maybe soon you'll get to help us." (Y/N) smiled at Nya who did the same
(Y/N) mounted Flame as the ninja took off
"Will I ever get a dragon? Same with (Y/N)?." Nya asked
"In time. Maybe a long time, but in time." Wu said

The ninja are seen flying their dragons in the air
"Just like old times, eh rocky?." Cole asked his dragon
"It's so weird that you're not afraid of dragons anymore." (Y/N) said as they continued to fly
"You guys believe what Sensei said about unlocking our full potential?." Kai asked
"He may be onto something. I mean we got these golden weapons. It's not like we ever had to use them. I wonder what they do." Jay asked as (Y/N) sighed
"I wish I had a golden weapon." (Y/N) mumbled
"I for one look forward to the future. If there is more for us to accomplish, let it be." Zane said
"Don't know about you, but is anyone else a little excited about battling Lord Garmadon? I've been looking forward to trying some new Spinjtizu moves. Could be the perfect opportunity." Cole said
"Ha-ha race you there?." Jay challenged
The ninja race towards Jamanakai village passing by each other in creative ways, soon they saw the village up ahead
"Jamanakai village. First ninja there wins." Kai said
"Well in your case if you win, ninjas." Zane said pointing out (Y/N)
"You get the idea." Kai said as they began to speed up to the village ahead, as they go to land they make it at the same time
"Haha we were first!." Kai high-fives (Y/N)
"No! No one was faster than me!." Jay yelled
"Ha ha ha my feet were down before yours!." Cole laughed
"You were all disillusioned! It as clearly me!." Zane said just before the could continue arguing they heard screams from the village
The ninja run inside the village where everyone was running and hiding as a shadow looms over and a evil laughter could be heard in the background, the ninja prepare as they prepare for what happens next
"Stay sharp fellas. Whatever happens, never let you guard down." Kai said
The laughter and shadow get closer but it's revealed to be a young boy wearing a black hoodie
"It is I! Lloyd Garmadon! I demand all the candy in town or else!." Lloyd yelled as the group groaned
"Lloyd Garmadon? I thought we were gonna face Lord Garmadon." Jay spoke
"It's his son." Cole said as (Y/N) face palmed and Jay grunts
"Not again." (Y/N) groaned
"Looks like he escaped his boarding school for bad boys again. And to think we could've been doing Spinjtizu already." Cole said annoyed
"Er...er...gimme all your candy or I'll release the serpentine on you!." Lloyd yelled as the villagers booed him, Lloyd grabbed a can and it shot fake snakes out but the villagers started throwing vegetables at him
"No way! I asked for candy, not vegetables! I hate vegetables! Lloyd yelled as he falls down
"He's gonna have to do a lot better than us an old bedtime story to scare people." Kai said picking up the fake snake and shoot it away
"The serpentine are real Kai, they're not something to joke about." Zane said
"Serpentine? Real? We're talking about the ancient race of snake people who once ruled over Ninjago and were supposedly locked underground." Kai said not believing Zane
"Sealed in five different tombs to separate the warring tribes and ensure they don't unify to exact revenge upon those who put them there." Jay whimpered
"It was and old wives tale to teach kids not to poke their noses where they don't belong. Don't you think it's a little suspicious no one's ever found one of their tombs?." Kai asked
"Well that's cause you'd be a fool to look for one." (Y/N) said as Kai looked at him
"You believe in them too?." Kai asked in disbelief
"Well when your dad is the son of the First Spinjtizu master, it's kinda not hard to believe it." (Y/N) said as Kai scoffed
"Okay so let me get this straight, we have golden weapons that have elemental properties, ride dragons, fought an evil warlord, living skeletons and did a tornado and a even bigger one, but this is were you draw the line?." (Y/N) asked as Kai shrugged
Not wanting to deal with this anymore, the ninja just grabbed Lloyd and marched him away
"Unhand me!." Lloyd yelled as he hit Jay with the can
"Don't worry folks. We'll take care of this. Nothing to see here." Cole said as Lloyd kept trying to escape
"Bow down to me or suffer my wrath! I'll give you to the count of three! One! Two!." Lloyd started counting down much the their annoyance
"What are we supposed to do? Spank him?." Kai asked
"Nah that seems wrong if it ain't your kid." (Y/N) said
"Two and a half!." Lloyd yelled
"I changed my mind." (Y/N) said but Cole had a better idea
Lloyd was seen hanging on a sign with food all over him
"You just made me your nemesis! Mark my words you'll pay for this." Lloyd screamed at the ninja who only laughed with the villagers
"He really does sound like he's father." (Y/N) chuckled as Jay passed him some cotton candy
"Next time, try paying for your candy." Cole said as they began eating their candy
"Crime doesn't pay muchacho. You can take that to the bank." Kai said
"Mhm... cotton candy." Jay mocked Lloyd who screamed in rage, as the ninja left (Y/N) bought some candy for Nya before looking at Lloyd and tossing him some gum
"Stay in school kid." (Y/N) said as he walked away while Lloyd only looked at the gum
As the ninja go to mount their dragons a scroll falls from Kai's bag
"Huh? I don't remember putting this here." Kai said confused
"That's Sensei's bag. You've must've accidentally taken it in the rush." Zane said
"What is it?." Jay asked as Kai opened the scroll
"It's a scroll windbag." Kai pointed out as Jay got annoyed
"I know it's a scroll, but what does it say? It's written in chicken scratch." Jay said looking at the scroll
"Not chicken scratch. The ancient language of our ancestors." Zane said reading the scroll
"Uh, can you read it?." Kai asked
"Well, I can try." Zane said looking at the scroll and pointed at a symbol
"This symbol means prophecy." Zane said
"Prophecy?." Jay asked confused
"It means it tells the future." Kai said
"Of course. Ha ha I knew that." Jay laughed nervously
"Someone's lying." (Y/N) said behind Jay scaring him
"Don't do that!." Jay yelled as (Y/N) smiled
"Worth it." (Y/N) said as he looked at the others
"So what's going on?." (Y/N) asked
"We're about to find out." Kai said as Zane kept reading
"One ninja will rise above the others and becomes the Green Ninja, the ninja destined to defeat the dark Lord with help from the fabled Purple Ninja." Zane read out
"Oh look a picture!." Jay gasped pointing at the picture with the six ninja, but they noticed the Purple Ninja standing beside the Green Ninja
"The dark Lord? Hold on... you think they mean Lord Garmadon?. Wait a minute is that us? Is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking?." Cole asked
"Like how good I'm gonna look in green? Ha." Jay asked
"Isn't it obvious I'm gonna be the Green Ninja?." Kai asked
"The colour obviously suits me!." Jay yelled
"Technically I am the best." Zane said
"Everyone stop it! Remember why Sensei brought us together in the first place. We're a team. We weren't meant to see this and probably for good reason." Cole said
"And this is why Cole's the leader." (Y/N) said as Cole fist bumped him
"Come on let's head back home. We have training to do." Cole said
"It's about time I added some finesse to my routine." Jay said
"Well I could use some exercise." Zane said
"I could try and find my elemental power." (Y/N) said
"Yeah, I gotta work on some new moves." Cole said as the mounted their dragons and took off except Kai and (Y/N)
"Could I be the Green Ninja?." Kai asked himself
"No." (Y/N) said blankly as Kai sighed in annoyance

Back at the monastery the ninja walk towards the doors
"So then we all agree. The prophecy states that one of us will become the Green Ninja and the issue will not rest until it is decided." Jay said
"And we can cross out (Y/N) since he seems to be fighting along side the Green Ninja like it's destiny." Zane said as (Y/N) nodded in agreement
"So may I suggest a tournament? Last ninja standing is the best." Zane said as the three other agreed
"And will be declared the Green Ninja! I love it!." Kai said pumped up
As they entered they saw Nya training, as she notices them (Y/N) waved at her which gets her knocked off the course
Jay walked over to her
"Hey Nya. Closer to beating your brother's record?." Jay asked shyly as (Y/N) walked over and helped her up by giving her a hand
"I'm getting there. Heard what happened in town. Just a false alarm?." Nya asked
"Yeah, uh but we're gonna need the space, sorry sis." Kai apologised
"Two matches. Then the winners of each face off for the title. Amours for our own protection. It's time to see what the babies can do." Cole said as he tossed amour to the others
"Hey Nya. Wanna stay and watch me mop the floor with them?." Jay asked hopeful
"No thanks. I'll just visit Jamanakai Village, know yourselves out." Nya said as she went to leave, before she did (Y/N) stopped her, Nya looked at (Y/N) who gave her some candy
"I got you some candy." (Y/N) smiled as Nya smiled back
"Thanks, I'll see you soon." Nya smiled as she  left the monastery
"What about you (Y/N)?." Jay asked as (Y/N) shook his head
"Nah I think I'll play some of those video games you have." (Y/N) said walking inside
"Use a new save!." Jay yelled out to (Y/N)
"Alright! First up, Kai versus Jay! Ninja! Go!." Cole yelled as Kai and Jay began fighting as the fight, Jay uses his nunchucks but he accidentally shocks himself, the fight continues they duo fight with all their might, eventually Kai wins as his uses a fire ball on Jay knocking him out of the fight making Kai the winner
"Next up! Cole versus Zane! Ninja go!" Kai yelled
As the fight commences the duo are balanced, as the fight continues Zane uses a Shuriken to freeze Cole's legs, as Zane tries to attack Cole with the other shuriken, Cole deflecting each shot, Cole tackles Zane with his scythe, giving him the win
As Zane and Jay sit down in defeat Kai and Cole get ready to fight
"For the prize and the title of best ninja... blah blah... ninja go." Jay mumbled in defeat
As the remaining two ninja fight, they are evenly tied, until Cole's used the power of the scythe to knock Kai off the ground, making Cole the winner, as Jay and Zane get up cheering Kai gets up viciously, but he loses control over the Sword
"It's too hot!." Kai yelled as the sword starts to burn his hand
"It's burning!." Zane yelled
"Fire!." Jay yelled as Kai begins to lose full control of the sword and throws it to the ground, unfortunately this causes the monastery to starting burning, the four ninja tried to put the fire out to no avail, this causes Wu and (Y/N) quickly run outside, and uses the shurikens to stop the fire
"What were you thinking?!." Wu yelled furiously
"Uh we were trying to figure out who is the Green Ninja?." Jay accidentally spilled where Zane slaps him
"Ow did I say Green Ninja? No sorry, what I said was lean." Jay tried to cover up poorly
"You were not supposed to see this." Wu said
"But Sensei, we wanna know. Which one of us is the chosen one?." Kai asked
"None of you if you don't unlock your full potential." Wu said
"But my sword, it was so bright. Is this what you meant by unlocking our Golden Weapons?." Kai asked
"You are only at the beginning. And the road is long and winding, but yes this is what I meant. If this is what it must take for you to train, then so be it. But none of you are near the level of what it takes to be the Green Ninja." Wu said as he went back inside
"So, what do we want to do first?." (Y/N) asked

In Jamanakai village the citizens were running and screaming into their homes
"What now?." Nya asked confused as she was shopping
She noticed Lloyd returned with the stolen Candy
"Take the candy! Take it all!." Lloyd laughed evilly as Nya looked shocked at the Hypnobrai are with Lloyd, as they began hypnotising the village
"This makes no sense general. Raiding an entire town for sweets?." Skales asked as the general glared at him
"You will do as I command because I hold the staff!." Slithraa yelled at Skales as Nya hid

Back in the monastery the ninja are seen properly training Wu looks into the mystic smoke, as he does he sees the serpentine attacking the village
Wus eyes open wide as he runs outside
"The serpentine are back! Everyone in Jamanakai village is in danger!." Wu yelled
"Calm down Sensei, we were just there, it was some kid who says he-
"The spirit smoke does not lie! An ancient evil has been released." Wu said as Kai came to a realisation
"Nya's there right now." Kai said
"Nya?." Jay and (Y/N) said in sync
The ninja run to their dragons once again and flew to Jamanakai village once more
"Stay close, stay together." Kai said
"Would we do it any other way?." Cole asked as they arrived to Jamanakai not to long after
"I'm never coming down from this sugar ride! Woo hoo!." Lloyd yelled as he pushed a wheelbarrow with candy inside it, before he could get far the ninja stand in front of him
"Sorry to burst you buzz, little Garmadon." Cole said
"But it's already past your bedtime." Jay said mocking Lloyd
"Get them!." Lloyd yelled as the serpentine started to surround them
"Seize them!." Slithraa yelled
"The serpentine? They're real?." Kai looked shocked
"Seriously this was were you drew the line?." (Y/N) asked as they were surrounded by snakes and villagers
"It's not just them we have to worry about, the whole village has been hypnotised." Cole said
Jay tried to use his weapon but Zane stopped him
"No! Our weapons are too unstable. We can do more harm than good." Zane warned Jay
"I guess that leaves us with RUN!." Jay yelled as the ninja got away quickly by jumping on the roofs and walls before hiding behind a wall where Nya jumps behind them
"Huh, Nya you're okay." Jay said
"Barely. They've hypnotised everyone in town." Nya said
"Mind control. How is that possible?." Jay asked
"When you hear them rattle their tails. Don't look them in the eyes. That's how they get you." Nya explained
"So fight without seeing. That could be a great lesson one day." (Y/N) mumbled
"Well what are we supposed to do? We can't use our weapons and now we gotta fight with our eyes closed? Ha, perfect." Jay remarked sarcastically
"The snake with the staff is the general, he's the one in charge." Nya said as (Y/N) spoke up
"So he holds the anti venom! If we get that we can save everyone! Great thinking Nya!." (Y/N) said as Nya blushed
"Uh thanks." Nya smiled
"Look guys, let's forget about the whole Green Ninja thing. Let's make Sensei proud, the five of us, we're a team." Kai said
"Now you're talking." Cole agreed
"Oh and Nya, you can be our honorary member." Jay said as Nya looked annoyed
"Gee thanks." Nya remarked sarcastically
The ninja jumped over back to the serpentine ready to fight
"You wanna play? How about a little Spinjtizu? Ninja! Go!." Kai yelled as he did Spinjtizu only to lose control and smack into the ground
"Okay we're really out of shape." Jay said from above as he face palmed
"Ha! Consider this a warning ninja!." Lloyd laughs trying to get away with his candy only for Zane to stop him using his shurikens and approaches him using his Spinjtizu
"My candy!." Lloyd yelled
"Sensei was right, never put off until tomorrow what can be do today. We should've dealt with you the first time around." Zane said as Lloyd yelled
"Retreat!." Lloyd yelled as Slitheraa yelled the same
They tried to escape only for Cole and (Y/N) to stop them, Cole stops Slitheraa as (Y/N) kicks him before Cole grabs his staff
"Go ahead, give us a reason." Cole threatened, just as Cole went to leave Skales controls him
"Look into my eyes, I control you." Skales said
"You control...
"Cole!." Nya yelled as she kicked Skales in the head breaking their connection allowing Cole to regain control
"You have the anti venom!." Nya yelled as Cole looked at the staff
"By golly you're right!." Cole yelled
"Quick the fountain!." Nya yelled as (Y/N) yelled
"Cole through it!." (Y/N) yelled as Cole threw (Y/N) the staff, as (Y/N) grabbed the staff he placed it into the fountain which sprays over the entire village freeing everyone. Later Wu would arrive at the village
"We're sorry Sensei, if we dealt with Lloyd before he became a problem, none of this would've been necessary." Kai apologised
"Even lessons learned the hard way are lessons learned, mmm... a great evil had been released. I fear troubling times will come. This is only the beginning." Wu said
"It may not be lord Garmadon, but that doesn't mean we won't bring out A-game." Cole said
"Help us train. Help us realise our potential." Kai asked
"Yeah teach us the secrets behind the weapons of Spinjtizu." Jay asked
(Y/N) walked up
"Help us find our true powers." (Y/N) asked as Wu hummed
"Hmm... there is much to teach. We must return to the monastery." Wu said as the gang walked back to their dragons, excluding (Y/N)
"When am I gonna get my own dragon?." Nya asked as (Y/N) agreed
"Yeah Sensei, when will we?." (Y/N) asked as Wu looked at them
"Patience, Nya (Y/N), your time will come." Wu said as (Y/N) and Nya looked at each other and nodding as they waited for their time

In the serpentine tomb, Lloyd groans
"Uh... candy. I need candy." Lloyd groaned
"The boy set us free." Slithraa argued with Skales
"He's a child. He is not one of us." Skales argued back
"I may not have my staff, but I'm still your general! Stand down!." Slithraa yelled as Skales walks away into a soldier who confronts him
"You coward! We all know he is under Lloyd's spell. Your second in command and still you do nothing?." Mezmo asked irritated
"Now was not the time. I still hold the key to destroy the ninja. And when I do that, everyone will see it is I who should be in control." Skales laughed wickedly
As Skales spies on the ninja from Cole's eyes who are seen hypnotised
