Season 4 Episode 39: Spy for a Spy

The eliminated Elemental Masters work in the Factory again as Cole whistles
"Why you whistling? Yesterday Cole was sad. Not today. What changed?." Karlof asked
"Things are looking up, Karlof. We came here to find some old friends, and I found them. All I gotta do now is get Zane and (Y/N) and bust them out." Cole explained
"Not so easy. Chens made it nearly impossible to escape this place." Karlof explained
"I'm still working out the details, but Zane's a Nindroid, a walking computer, and (Y/N) is the best gosh dang ninja I've met, he can find a way out of something with some time, if I get them out, they'll solve anything Chen throws at us in no time." Cole smiled as Karlof groaned
"Karlof wished he had friends like that." Karlof groaned
"But first order of business, I gotta let the others know I'm busting them out." Cole said as he puts a piece of paper in a fortune cookie
"You put message in cookie?." Karlof asked
"I know right? That's why it's called a fortune cookie." Cole said
"Well, if you get out, don't forget about Karlof." Karlof said
"Yeah, sure. Of course." Cole said as he turns to an Anaconrdai Cultist
"Special order for the banquets ready." Cole said
"I hope you have the good fortune for it to end in the right hands." Karlof said
"You and me both, Karlof. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get out of here." Cole said
"Aah." Zugu tried to grab a cookie from the cultist, but the cultist stops him, Cole then sees that Zugu has the keys he could use to free Zane and (Y/N)

Meanwhile, Dearth and Nya watch as Chens kabuki go inside the palace
"All right, dearth. Let's move in." Nya said as Dearth stops her
"Wait a minute." Dearth said as he leads her back to the D.B Express
"Have I ever told you that I am a master of disguise?." Dearth asked as he opens up a makeup kit
"Is that makeup?." Nya asked
"No, no, this is the master of disguise kit." Dearth said
"No, no." Nya denied as Dearth approached
"Get ready to go undercover." Dearth said as he puts make up on Nya
"Oh yeah. Oh, that. Oh perfect. Oh." Dearth smiled applying the makeup on her, Nya coughs
"Presenting Miss Kabuki. Yeah!." Dearth smiled as Nya looked confused
"What? How did you manage to change my clothes?." Nya asked
"A true ninja never reveals his secrets. You should know that, Nya. Hmm." Dearth said smiling

Meanwhile inside the palace, the kabuki serve the fighters food
"Try the horned wasp eggs. Delicious." Chen smiled as they looked disgusted
"Uh, I think I'll pass." Lloyd said
"Oh, lighten up Green Ninja. This isn't a trick. This is a feast to celebrate the eight of you making it to the second round." Chen said as the kabuki laugh
"And I must congratulate the Master of Shadows defeat over Master of Poison. She was a bit hard to swallow, am I right?." Chen asked as the kabuki laughed again
"Laugh harder! Hahahaha!." Chen laughed as the kabuki make a forced harder laugh
"You can relax, Lloyd. Even if there was a fight, now that we told the others about Chens dirty plot to steal our powers, we're safe in our secret alliance." Kai said to Lloyd
"I tried to enlist Shadow, but that dudes throwing some serious shade." Griffin said as they looked at Shade who ate the food
"Well, if you plan to stop Chen, you'll need everyone on board. Each fighter that loses gives him strength. Soon he'll be too powerful for even all of you combined to overcome." Garmadon explained as the Kabuki retrieved the fortune cookies
"Ooh, fortune cookies! Bring them to me!." Chen yelled like a child
"But they are for your captured- I mean, honoured guests." Clouse said
"I'm not gonna eat them, Clousey Clouse. Just read the fortunes. They're my favourite part." Chen said
"Might I warn you our guests are fond of whispering, and I don't think it's about your food. I've heard word they have allied themselves. The ninja have told them about our secret ceremony." Clouse told Chen
"Do they know about the spell?." Chen asked
"Not yet, but we must get ahead of this." Clouse said as Chen puts the cookie back, the kabuki then brings them to the masters
"It has come to my attention that there are rumours floating about that I am stealing everyone's power. I am." Chen admitted as everyone gasps
"But it's all for this staff." Chen said as he claps and the Kabuki wave their hand fans
"No, no. Not you staff. I mean my real staff." Chen said as everyone gasps as they see the staff
"The Staff of Elements. It holds the power of your fallen foes, and soon it'll hold all but one. For the last standing in my tournament will this prize and be the greatest fighter ever in the history of Ninjago!." Chen yelled as everyone whispered
"You lied. What about the spell?." Lloyd asked
"Spell? What spell?." Chen played dumb
"Don't believe him, it's just another trick. Neruo read Clouses mind and saw it. Tell them what you saw, Neruo." Lloyd said as Clouse stares at him
"I-I don't remember. Truthfully, I'm a bit more interested in knowing more about that staff." Neuro said staring at it
"And why should we be so quick to believe everything you say? How do we know you're not lying to get the staff for yourself?." Griffin asked as Skylor reads Cole's message and gasps
"It worked. Their alliance is crumbling." Clouse smirked
"So much for the alliance." Garmadon said
"They believed him over us?." Lloyd asked as a kabuki fanned near Jay
"If we're gonna convince anyone, argh, we need proof. Ugh we need too, oh, find that spell. Would you cut it out?!." Jay yelled at the kabuki
"Jay, it's me." Nya whispered to Jay
"Nya?." They asked
"Lower your voices. I'm undercover. And completely honest, a bit out of my element. And is it true? Is (Y/N) and Zane alive?." Nya asked hopefully
"Yes, they are." Lloyd whispered as Nya smiled
"Is it just you sis?." Kai asked
"Dearth's also on the island." Nya said as she brought her communication device out
"What up ninja?." Dearth said
"And in contact with Wu via mobile base." Nya said
"If you're undercover, that means you can get close to Clouses spellbook. All we know is that it's on page 149. I think he might have it in his quarters." Kai said
"I'll look into it. And it sounds like you have your work cut out for you too." Nya said
"How so?." Jay asked
"How do you think they found out about your little alliance? Someone in your circle of trust is a spy." Nya said
"A spy?." They asked just as Nya left before Clouse can see her, skylor then walked up to them
"Do you know that servant girl?." Skylor asked
"Uh- know that girl? Uh, of course not. Why? Jealous?." Kai asked
"My fortune tells me Cole and your friends Zane and (Y/N) will be breaking out." Skylor said as she hands them the message
"You're lucky this didn't end up in the wrong hands." Skylor said as she hands them the fortune and leaves
"He found Zane and (Y/N), I can't believe it. Thanks Skylor. It's good to know there are some people here we can trust." Kai said
"A spy? Who do you think it is?." Jay asked
"I have my suspicions." Lloyd said as he looks at Shade

Meanwhile in a nearby cave, Dearth passes the time by playing the air guitar
"Yeah! Haha." Dearth laughed
"Dearth, Deather, are you there?." Nya asked on the communication device
"Ah." Dearth stops the music
"Loud and proud, Nya. Talk to me." Dearth said
"Tell Sensei Wu our objectives are set. I'm gonna find the spell and get proof Chens up to no good while the ninja sniff out the spy in their alliance." Nya told Dearth
"Aye aye, Samurai X. Brown Ninja out." Dearth said as he messages Wu
"Breaker, breaker. Come in Wu. The falcon has landed." Dearth said

Meanwhile in the factory, Cole notices Zugu being distracted
"It's time." Cole said
"But shifts not over for hours." Karlof said
"It is for me. Hehe. I've been waiting to do this for a long time." Cole said as he climbs on a machine and starts eating the noodles, everyone cheers
"Get him!." Zugu yelled
"Let there be food! Ha! All you can eat. Eat it, guards! Whoo-hoo!." Cole yelled as he attacked the warriors with food
"Go, Cole, go!." Karlof yelled
"Woah!." Cole yelled as Zugu gets him
"Got you." Zugu said as Cole belches
"Now I feel better. You got any cake?." Cole asked as he gets thrown into the dungeon
"It was all worth it! For these." Cole smiled as he pulls out Zugu's keys

Meanwhile, Zane dreams as he freed himself, as Zane dreamed, (Y/N) stayed chained to the wall, the doors opened as Clouse walked in
"Unchain him." Clouse said as two warriors did so
"Your freeing me?." (Y/N) asked confused
"Yes, we will be freeing you, but first, Master Chen would like to speak with you." Clouse said as (Y/N) gets up and is held by two warriors as they leave
"Bring him to Master Chen, I must return to my quarters." Clouse ordered as they separated, Cole later arrives and frees Zane
"Zane!." Cole yelled as Zane wakes up
"Cole? You've returned." Zane said surprised
"Of course I did. I made a promise. Now come here, you shiny new tin can. Ah." Cole hugged Zane
"Can you feel the love?." Cole asked
"No, but the longer we stand here, the shorter time we have to escape." Zane said
"You're right, let's go free (Y/N) and get out of here." Cole said as they run to (Y/N) cell and open the door, only to see him gone
"Where's (Y/N)?." Cole asked
"He couldn't of escaped by himself, do you think this is Chens doing?." Zane asked
"Must be, we'll find (Y/N) later, let's go." Cole said as they run off

Meanwhile Zugu notices his keys are missing and sounds the alarms

Meanwhile Nya sneaks into Clouses quarters and finds the book
"Page 102, 122, aha Page 149. Oh, this would change everything." Nya said, she gasps when she hears footsteps
Clouse walks to his quarters, before entering Zugu stops him
"There's been a breach in the factory. Master Cole has gone missing." Zugu said as Nya tears off the page and hides
"Release my pet. She'll make sure he doesn't escape, now leave, Master Chen has an important meeting with a certain person shortly." Clouse said as he walked inside his quarters and finds his book with kabuki makeup on it
"Hmm." Clouse hums as he leaves

Cole and Zane walk around trying to find their way out of
"Not that way. That will only take us back to where we started." Zane said
"Unh. Maybe you should be leading." Cole said as they hear a growling
"I am not familiar with that sound." Zane said
"I am. We need to move!." Cole yelled running off
"I thought I was leading." Zane questioned
"Trust me, you'll wanna keep up." Cole said as they run until they reach a dead end
"This isn't a wall. It's the body of a large serpent." Zane said
"Come on, we have to find another way." Cole said as they run only to find another dead end Argh. Another dead end." Cole groaned
"The serpents strategy appears to be to surround us and coil inward. Very clever." Zane said
"Yeah, well, my strategy is not to be eaten." Cole said as the snake corners on the duo
"It was nice knowing you, Zane. I think this really is our dead end. I don't suppose you can freeze him?." Cole asked
"Chen took my powers like everyone else. PIXAL, calculate escape scenarios." Zane ordered
"PIXAL? You got a girl stuck in your head?." Cole asked
"Calculating escape routes. Activating explosive shurikens." PIXAL said as Zane aims the shurikens on the ground, making them fall into a hole too small for the serpent to go through
"Heh, I'm gonna like the new you." Cole smiled
"We must move quickly, we must find (Y/N) and escape." Zane said
"Lead the way." Cole said as Zane leads the way

Meanwhile, inside Chens personal headquarters, (Y/N) sits at a table with food
"Go on, eat up, you must not have had a nice meal in a long time." Chen smiled as (Y/N) ate the food
"I doubt this is the reason you wanted me here." (Y/N) said
"You'd be right my friend." Chen said getting up
"I brought you here because, I think we both benefit each other." Chen smiled
"How so?." (Y/N) asked
"You want off this island with your friends correct?." Chen asked
"You mean Zane, PIXAL and Cole? Yeah." (Y/N) smiled
"Well, I can, if you do me a little favour." Chen smiled
"And what's that favour?." (Y/N) asked curiously as Chen smiled evilly

Meanwhile, the Elemental Masters are in Kai's suite
"Like I said. I ain't joining your little alliance. I'm gunning for that staff." Shade said
"Hey, this isn't about an alliance. This is about finding out who is the spy. No one leaves this room until we find out who is passing information to Chen." Lloyd said
"Why are you looking at me, Greenie? I'm not your spy." Shade said
"Perhaps I can help." Neuro said as he uses his Mind Power on shade
"I don't know who, but someone here isn't who they say they are." Neruo said
"How do we know we can trust you? Maybe I should use your power and see inside your head." Skylor said
"I'd like to see you try, power hoarder." Neruo glared at Skylor
"This is what Chen wants, for us to fight. But we don't have to. There has to be a more civilised way around this." Kai said
"There is. Everyone who's ever worked for Chen has the Anacondrai tattoo on their back. Find the tattoo, find the spy." Garmadon said
"Anyone object?." Lloyd asked as no one objected, Neruo walks up and shows him his back
"Can I go now?." Neruo asked
"Not until we check everyone. Who's next?." Lloyd asked
"Let's get it on." Griffin smiled as he shows his back

Clouse walks up to Chen who's returned to his chair
"You're harshing my vibe." Chen said as Nya secretly watches
"You better tell me they've caught the escaped prisoner." Chen said
"Sadly master, not yet. But I have far worse news to report. Someone has stolen the spell." Clouse said
"Don't you need the page to do the spell?." Chen asked
"Of course not. But if it gets into the hands of the ninja, the fighters will know we've lied, then they'll rise up against us." Clouse explained
"Then we must find that page! Aargh! Kabuki paint, uh, it gets everywhere." Chen said as Nya gets pulled in by a kabuki
"Hmm." Clouse hummed as noticed the paint on his book
"Master, I have a feeling a spy may be in out midst." Clouse said
"A kabuki servant? Well, well." Chen said
"The spy may have the page still on them. Guards! Search every servant in this room." Clouse ordered

Dearth continues to sing, he accidentally hits a switch and broadcasts his music all over the island
"What is that racket?." Chen asked
"It's coming from the island." Clouse answered
"It's coming from the spy. Find the signal, find the spy." Chen said
"You heard him. Search the island." Clouse orders as Nya tried to leave, Clouse stops her
"As for you, stay put." Clouse told her, Nya looks at her communication device
"Dearth, what have you done now?." Nya asked as she blends in with the other Kabuki

Back in Kai's suite, the ninja have checked everyone's backs excluding Shade and Skylor
"Well, only two left." Lloyd said
"Uh, I hate to do this, but it's your turn. Can I see your back, please?." Kai asked skylor
"How could you not trust me? I came to you with the fortune cookie-
"I'm sorry, but we have to know." Kai apologised
"Wait, where'd Shadow go?." Lloyd asked as they looked around
"He disappeared through his own shadow." Jay said as Griffin spots him
"There he is. Get him!." Griffin yelled
"I ain't your spy, and I ain't your friend either. That staff will be mine." Shade said as Lloyd uses his powers on him, shade dodges, instead it hits a portrait of Kai and falls on Jay
"Aah! My leg! Ugh! Get Kai off of me!." Jay yelled, Garmadon tries to stop shade
"You cast a long shadow, old man." Shade said as he escaped
"It was shadow. He must be the spy." Neruo said
"Ow! Oh." Jay groaned as he gets freed from the picture, but suffered a broken leg
"Skylor, look, I'm sorry." Kai apologised
"Don't, and if you still think I'm the spy, watch me walk out that door." Skylor said as she shows him her back without the tattoo
"What happened to our alliance?." Jay asked
"What alliance?." Lloyd asked as everyone left

Chen rests on a chair as the Kabuki and Nya comfort him
"Kabuki are always pleased to serve me. Isn't that right, Kabuki?." Chen asked as they laugh
"Now harder! Really get into it!." Chen yelled as Clouse approached
"Our spy tells me the Master of Lightning is hurt." Clouse said as Nya gasps, hitting Chen in the head with her lead fan by accident
"Ow! Too hard!." Chen yelled
"The ninja are weakening, Master." Clouse told Chen
"What about their spy? Have you found where the signals are coming from?." Chen asked
"We haven't found anything on the island yet, but we will." Clouse said
"And do they know about the little surprise we have in store?." Chen asked
"No, they don't know about our little surprise, he will be ready for the final act." Clouse said as Nya looked curious

Meanwhile outside, Eyezor walks up to Chope and Kapau, they get distracted by Dearth's music
"What are you doing?." Eyezor asked
"I was, uh- I was headbanging." Kapau lied
"Taking a break." Chope said
"Have you checked out the waterfall." Eyezor asked
"Yeah." Chope said
"Uh, yeah, it's beautiful." Kapau said admiring the waterfall
"So serene." Chope said admiring the waterfall
"I mean for spies, you idiots!." Eyezor yelled as he chases them to the waterfall
"Yes sir!." Kapau yelled
"Right away!." Chope yelled
"Now, come on!." Eyezor yelled

Meanwhile dearth keeps rocking out
"Whoo! Yeah! The Brown Ninja!." Dearth yelled
"Dearth! Do you read me? They're coming. You hear me? They're coming for you!." Nya yelled on the communication device, dearth gasps
"Savages. Uh, where is that cloak button?." Dearth asked as he pressed multiple buttons
"Check it out." Eyezor said as everyone laughs
"Now let's test what the under the hood." Dearth said as he screamed
"Somebody get me out of here!." Dearth yelled
"Autopilot initiated." Auto said as they drive off
"Ha! About time you showed up, little dude." Dearth praised as multiple cultists followed behind
"All right, boneheads, I got a bone to pick with- oh! Oh! Aah!." Dearth yelled as he shoots the cliff, knocking off multiple cultists servants
"Score one for the Brown Ninja." Dearth smiled as Autopilot stops driving when it sees a cliff up ahead
"Bad autopilot. Bad autopilot!." Dearth yelled as he breaks, almost falling off the cliff
"I've been take hostage by the savages!." Dearth yelled on Nyas communication device
"You're on your own. Go on without me!." Dearth yelled as Chen grabbed Nyas arm
"So you're the spy! Ha! The spell!." Chen yelled noticing the spell, Nya kicks him
"Oh, and by the way, your feet stink!." Nya yelled as she runs away
"Get her! And get that spell!." Chen ordered

Meanwhile underground in the tunnels, Kapau and Chope walk around
"They've ordered everyone after some Kabuki girl." Chope said
"What about the escaped factory worker?." Kapau asked
"Forget him." Chope said as Cole and Zane listen in
"Chen will make sure the other workers pay for his actions." Chope sighed
"Poor saps." Chope said
"Poor saps?." Cole asked confused looking at Zane
"Also, did you hear Chens master plan?." Kapau asked as they listened in
"Yeah, the Purple Ninja guy, Chen says he has a big plan for him and the Green Ninja." Chope said
"Man, I can't wait for the Green Ninja to lose." Kapau laughed as they walked away
"Hurry, the exit is just around the bend." Zane said
"You go, I can't, a ninja doesn't save himself. He protects those who can't protect themselves. I have to go back. I have to go back and save them all." Cole said
"And a ninja never leaves another ninjas side." Zane smiled
"We'll get off this island one day. Zane, but it's either all of us or none of us." Cole said as they walked back
"What do you think Chens got planned for (Y/N) and Lloyd?." Zane asked
"I don't know, but if there's one thing I know, with (Y/N)'s amnesia, Chen will be taking advantage of him to make him do his evil bidding." Cole said
"Let's hope he doesn't believe Chen." Zane said as they kept walking

Meanwhile outside, Nya hides from the cultists look for her, Clouse finds her and Nya runs away
"Don't just stand there. Find her!." Clouse yelled as the duo fight each other, Nya escapes
"Get her. And get that spell." Clouse ordered as Nya runs into the forest

In the palace, a Cultist walks up to Chen
"My spy, have they found the girl?." Chen asked
"No, but you may have bigger problems to deal with." The cultist said as he reveals himself to by skylor using form
"Cole's got the metal man, father." Skylor said
"Thank you, my child. The Master of Forms power has proved to be useful to you. The ninjas time here is done." Chen smiled
"And what's the plan for the Purple Ninja?." Skylor asked
"Oh, he will be doing a very special task for me, a very special task, the Green Ninja will never know what hits him. Tomorrow, we will end this charade, Tomorrow, we will break up the ninja forever!." Chen and Skylor laughed
