Season 1 Episode 5: Can of worms

A few days roll around and the ninja go around doing their daily activities, Kai walks into the gaming room to play his game only for Lloyd to appear from behind him
"Hey Kai! Ha. Saw Cole beat your high score. You should have seen it. It was pretty spectacular." Lloyd said as Kai didn't believe him
"Uh, you must be talking about Sitar Legend. This is Fist to Face 2. No one beats me on my own game." Kai said confidently
"Huh, could be wrong. See ya!." Lloyd whistled as he walked away
Kai enters the game room and turns on his game only to find the Black Ninja profile on the scores
"Huh? Cole!." Kai yelled enraged
Meanwhile in the kitchen Cole is preparing dinner
"Mm-mm! Violet Berry soup, my culinary achievement. If the recipe is not followed exactly....
Cole takes a bit but gags in the taste while Lloyd pokes his head inside
"By the way, I saw Jay spice things up. I told him not to, but he said your cooking could use it, Bye Cole!." Lloyd said leaving as Cole got infuriated
"Jay!." Cole yelled as he spat the food out
On the upper deck Jay turns on the sparring bot, but the levels turns on level 9
"Hey Jay, I saw Zane try to repair the sparring bot earlier. Isn't that your expertise? Later bro." Lloyd left as he whistled yet again
"Wait! What?." Jay asked confused as he tried to turn it off, but the bot starts hitting him
"No! No!!! ZANE!!!!!." Jay screamed out
Further ahead Zane is in his pyjamas and is about to hang out the washing meanwhile Lloyd walks up to him
"Hello Lloyd. What brings you up here this fine morning?." Zane asked cheery
"Kai wanted me to pick up his ninja suit. He said he threw it in with your whites." Lloyd said as he grabbed the suit
"Here it is, thanks." Lloyd left holding the suit leaving Zane confused
Zane gets his ninja suit and discovers it turned pink, he gets angry at this, down below at the deck the ninja argue with each other
"You couldn't just be happy with the top score. You had to rub it in my face!." Kai yelled at Cole
"Do you know how long it took me to make that? Three days. Three days!." Cole yelled at Jay
"It's an unsaid law, okay? You don't you touch a man's robot!." Jay yelled at Zane
"How am I supposed to strike fear in this? It's pink!." Zane yelled at Kai holding up his suit
Wu and (Y/N) entered as the ninja argue, Wu and (Y/N) nod at each other as Wu opens the barroom door where Lloyd was hiding and he laughs evilly, the ninja look and saw the things everyone was accused of doing
"You did this?." The four gasped
"Boys I get first dibs on...
As Cole walks up to Lloyd to punish him Wu and (Y/N) stops him
"Woah woah take it easy big guy." (Y/N) said stopping Cole
"No dibs. I put him up to this for today's lesson, I wanted to show you the destructive power of rumours and that jumping to conclusions can only lead to trouble. Did you ever think to find out if the accusations were true?." Wu asked as (Y/N) nodded
"Uh, no offence Sensei, but let me jump to this conclusion, today's lesson is lame." Cole said
"Yeah, why can't you just teach us to paralyse your enemy with one finger. Or find out if a man is lying by the twitch of his nose?." Jay asked
"Because not all lessons are about fighting-
"And cause he misplaced his lesson book." (Y/N) interrupted as Wu looked annoyed at (Y/N)
Kai notices the book sticking out of Lloyd back pocket and swipes it
"You mean this lesson book?." Kai asked as Lloyd got irritated
"It was the perfect plan until you have to show up and mess everything up-
Cole closes the door on him just as Nya comes over the speaker
"If your done fooling around, I could use you guys in the bridge. We do still have a snake problem to attend to. Over and out!." Nya ended the speaker
"It's on thing to let the son of your nemesis live with you. But having my sister here? I mean come on! I thought this was a ninja headquarters." Kai complained
"Well I think having Nya here is good, she's giving us updates about the serpentines whereabouts, and she has given us good advice before, and as far as I'm concerned she doesn't need to be a ninja to be apart of this team." (Y/N) said as Kai looked a little guilty
"Uh, you do know I can hear you... over and out!." Nya yelled as Kai groaned while (Y/N) slightly blushed as he realised Nya heard everything he said
The ninja walked to the bridge where Nya and (Y/N) made slight eye contact before looking away blushing, she then cleared her throat
"Last time we heard of Pythor, he stole the Map of Dens from Lloyd and is now on his way to open the last two serpentine tombs." Nya explained as Lloyd looked remorseful
"Ugh, don't remind me." Lloyd said
"Pythor our most dangerous threat. If he find those tombs before we do, with his intellect and all four tribes unleashed, there's no telling what he'll do." Wu said
"But those tombs could be anywhere. Without the map, we might as well just throw darts at a map." Jay said
"Good idea, why don't we?." Nya said as she threw darts at a map
"Theses are the two locations of the Hypnobrai and Fangpyre tombs." Nya pointed out
"Show off." Kai grumbled
"And this is Pythors tomb." Nya said as she placed a dart on the map
"After many hours of ruminating on why the tombs were placed in these three precise locations. I discovered a secret pattern. If you notice, all three are in line with the Ninjago symbol for serpent." Nya explained
"So the last two tombs must be here and here. Ah you are so smart." Jay smiled as Nya looked confident
"Ah, was there ever any doubt?." Nya asked
"Not really, apart from Zane you're the only other smart person here." (Y/N) said as Nya smiled
"Hey hey! What about me?." Jay asked looking at (Y/N)
"Enough, there's little time. Kai, Jay and (Y/N) head to the Venomari tomb. Cole and Zane, you take the Constrictai tomb. And take this. You might need it if you run into Pythor, good luck ninja." Wu said as he gave Cole the flute
"What am I gonna do?." Nya asked
"Yeah what are we gonna do?." Lloyd asked
"Nya, I need you here to make sure Lloyd doesn't get into any more trouble." Wu said as Nya looked annoyed
"Yes Sensei." Nya agreed annoyed
"Let's go boys. We got some snakes to club." Cole said as the four left
"If you want, I can stay and help you?." (Y/N) offered as Nya smiled
"You go help the others, I got a plan." Nya smiled as (Y/N) smiled back before running out much to Lloyds disgust
"Bleh... love.... so.... gross." Lloyd gaged as Nya glared but slightly blushed
"Where are you, Pythor, what are you up to?." Wu asked

Zane and Cole drive to the base of the Mountain of a Million steps. As they left their vehicles Zane sighs as he wears his pink Gi
"Well, our vehicles won't transverse the steps. We gotta go the rest of the way on foot." Cole said
"But this is the mountain of a Million steps. Aren't we pressed for time?." Zane asked as Cole got an idea
"Then we'll take a shortcut." Cole said as he carries Zane while climbing the Mountain
"Am i holding on too tight?." Zane asked as Cole climbed
"Light as a feather, pinky. Almost there." Cole said as they reach the entrance to find it already opened
"Looks like Pythor was already here. Perhaps we should investigate." Zane said Cole was exhausted
"Give me a second. Phew. Go on and start without me." Cole said trying to regain his energy, Zane meanwhile heads in, Cole right above him, they reach the ground and soon see some images in the wall
"Huh, didn't momma snake ever tell them not to draw on the wall?." Cole asked as Zane reads them
"These images describe a legend about one tribe uniting them all." Zane said reading the images  making Cole confused
"Those snakes had been at war with each other for centuries." Cole said confused as Sane continued reading
"Well, it says here, once they unite, they can find the Four Silver Fangblades that will unleash the Great Devour, an evil that will consume all of the land, turning day into night." Zane read
"You get all that from those little pictures?." Cole asked
"This gives me deep concern. If Pythors not hear and united all the tribes before Kai and Jay find him-
"Relax, Zane. They're a bunch of dumb snakes who believe in fairy tales. If anything we've got all the-
Cole felt the ground slightly move
"Did you feel that?." Cole asked as Zane looked confused
"What?." Zane asked
"There's something in the ground. Don't move." Cole whispered as he looked at the ground only for Skalidor to come above the ground and grabs Zane
"I've been waiting for you. Pythor sends his regards." Skalidor said as Zane looked annoyed
"Did you stay behind just to tell us that? Pathetic." Zane said annoyed as Skalidor looked at Zane
"Look who's calling who pathetic Pinky." Skalidor said
"Only I call him pinky." Cole said as he freed Zane
"Zane, go for the rope." Cole said as he falls in a hole
"Cole?." Zane asked as he climbed the rope
"Cole plays the flute, but Skalidor chokes him
"Zane. Zane." Cole struggled to say
"Ninja! Go!." Zane jumped down and grabbed the flute and played it
"Wrap your head around this." Cole said as Skalidor dropped him and retreated into the underground
"Wrap you head around this." Cole said
"Ah good one." Zane praised
"Thanks. But if he was expecting us, I think Kai Jay and (Y/N) are waking into a trap. Come on. Let's get out of here." Cole said as they left the mountain

Meanwhile Kai Jay and (Y/N) arrived at the toxic bogs, they exit their vehicles
"Ew." Jay groaned at the smell
"Hey, it's not me. We're in the Toxic boys. This stuff will eat through you worse then Cole's chili." Kai said putting a stick in the bogs melting it
"Let's just find the tomb before Pythor does." (Y/N) as the three left to find the tomb, after a few seconds they find the tomb and opened it only to find it empty
"Pee-yew." Jay groaned as his voice echoed making Jay laugh
"You are a literal child." (Y/N) spoke annoyed at the blue ninja
"Let's just make this quick before Pythor gets here. Huh?." Kai asked as he walked away
"This place looks empty. We must've missed them. Check this out. They say you're the Green Ninja, but I say I am." Jay said as his voice echoed
"I am!." Jay yelled again to his voice echoing again
Kai heard a frog crook and he drew his sword and sighed
"You shouldn't sneak up on people like that, hey, it just wasn't such a well-trained Nin-
The frog jumped onto Spitta who emerges from the bog and spits his venom on him. Making Kai hallucinate
"Ugh! Jay? (Y/N)!." Kai yelled as (Y/N) heard Kai and rushed over to him only to see more Venomari and Constictai who ambush Kai
"Oh this is not good! Jay! (Y/N)! There's so many! Elves and gingerbread people everywhere!." Kai
yelled huddling up as (Y/N) looked confused while Jay ran over as well
"I don't know what you're seeing, but this is no time to lose yourself. I need you partner." Jay said as (Y/N) grabbed his Sais and attacking the snakes
"Seriously, I leave you unsupervised for a minute and you already get ambushed." (Y/N) said dodging the Venomaris spit and kicks his head, (Y/N) throws his Sais at the Venomari as the duck, (Y/N) used Spinjtizu to push some Constrictai back, he then kicks some Venomari into each other and he regains his Sais, he then rushed some the snakes and pushes them back from Kai, he then punches the Constrictai back
"I've never fought little people before! We're toast!." Kai yelled fearful
"Dude! I'm saving your butt right now!." (Y/N) yelled as Cole and Zane arrive
"Anyone order a little kick butt?." Cole asked as his voice echoed in the tomb making Jay laugh, only for Pythor to emerge
"Boo!." Pythor yelled as Jay screamed while Zane tried to play the flute, but Pythor grabbed it
"No, let's not let music ruin things hmm?." Pythor asked as the snakes approached them, causing them to walk back into a log which slowly drifts away
"I've got a sinking feeling this may be the last of you five." Pythor laughed
"That's it. I used to hate dragons. But now I officially hate snakes." Cole said furiously
"Wait, do you see that? A magic floating rope. We can climb it to safety." Kai said trying to walk off the log only for Jay to pull him back
"Boy, that Venomari venom is some powerful stuff." Jay said as the serpentine laugh
"Yeah I think we should just try to keep him safe for however long we got." (Y/N) said as the log began melting slowly
"For whatever it is worth. It was an honor fighting besides you all." Zane said
"Me too." Cole agreed
"Yeah ditto." Jay agreed
"I'm glad I'm going out with my family, I want it no other way." (Y/N) said as a rope dangles in front of them
"Hey what?." Cole looked confused
"The magic rope. Ha." Kai spoke
"Woah, that Venomari venom can predict the future." (Y/N) wowed
"Quick, everyone climb over." Jay said as they climb the rope as the Samurai appears and attacks the serpentine, catching some in nets
"Oh dear." Pythor said worried as the Samurai looks at Pythor
"Pythor target confirmed. Time to bag and Tag." They said as they shoot a dart at Pythor to which he runs away while he makes contact, the ninja soon get off the rope and land on the ground
"Who are you?." Cole asked
"How about the coolest thing I've ever seen?." Jay said amazed
"Santa?." Kai asked
"Thank you mysterious warrior. I owe you my life for saving-
The samurai sprays Zane rendering him unconscious
"Ugh." Zane fell down
"Now that wasn't nice." Jay said as the Samurai renders the other three unconscious while (Y/N) dodges, the samurai looks at him and nods while (Y/N) nodded back as the samurai jumped back into their mech and disappeared just as the bounty flies over them and picking them up

At the dinner table the ninja talk about what happened
"So then, just when we were gonna bite it, this huge mechanical robot-
"Samurai. It was samurai." Zane interrupted Jay
"A sama-what?." Lloyd asked
"Samurai. Highest level of warrior class. They would protect mobility and serve with honour in the battlefield." Wu explained
"And someone who deserves respect." (Y/N) said as Nya had a small smile
"Easy for you to say, you dodged his attacks." Jay groaned
"He was a hindered feet high, with weapons coming out every part of him." Kai said as he looked and whispered at Cole
"Look at Senseis beard. It's moving like snakes." Kai whispered as he saw Wus beard wave around while Wu looks annoyed
"When is this Venomari spit supposed to wear off? It's starting to get annoying." Nya said annoyed as Kai tried to eat some food but slapped it on his cheek
"Okay, don't let this mysterious Samurai cloud what's really important. All the serpentine are out, and if Pythor can unite then, the legend states some Great Devour is gonna consume the lad and-
"Great Devour?." Nya asked as Cole continued
"Whatever it is, it's a can of worms I don't wanna see open." Cole said as Lloyd sighed
"Unh, it's my fault. If I hadn't opened the first hatch, none of this would've happened." Lloyd sighed
"We cannot change the past, but we can affect the future. At least we have the Sacred flute in our possession so-
"Yeah ahem. About that-
"Pythor sort of stole it." Zane said
"The last sacred flute gone?." Wu asked as he sighed
"You five ninja are Ninjago's last hope." Wu said as an alarm went off
"Cold vision must have caught something. That means the serpentine are near." Nya said as they went to the monitor and looked at the screen
"Oh no! Ninjago city?." Cole asked
"How many are there?." Jay asked
"Looks like all of them." Kai said
"Oh hey, the venom is starting to ware off." (Y/N) said
"Pythor must be trying to unite them." Zane said
"Go. We mustn't let the five tribes unite." Wu said as the five looked at each other
"Ninja! Go!." They yelled

They ran out of the main control room and use Spinjtizu to put their Gi's on. Zane sighs about his
"I must get this taken care of." Zane sighed
Kai meanwhile loses focus of the effects of the venom and falls
"Woah!." Kai groaned as Jay helped him
"Don't worry. It'll wear off soon, for now, you're coming with me." Jay said as (Y/N) looked confused
"And what about me?." (Y/N) asked as Cole walked up
"You're with me this time. I'll let you pick the radio." Cole said
"Im sold." (Y/N) said as they fist bumped
The ninja get to the top deck and skydive off with their vehicles which they use to land on the ground, they cheer expect for Kai who screams as they jumped
"Ah I love the smell of land hurtling towards you in the middle of the night." Cole said as (Y/N) rocked to the radio
They soon land with their vehicles turning back into their weapons
"Woah." They wowed seeing the city
"Ninjago city." Kai wowed
"Amazing." Zane wowed
"Always heard stories of this place." Kai said
"Biggest city in all of Ninjago. Always wanted to come here." Jay said
"Yeah, I always dreamed of one day being on a billboard here." Cole said
"You too?." Jay asked
"Yeah I did too." Kai said
"This place is amazing. Wu use to tell me that Ninjago city was a staple part of Ninjagos history. I always wanted to come here as a kid." (Y/N) said smiling under his cowl
"Uh, but may I remind you where are the snakes? We should be standing in the middle of a massive serpentine gathering." Zane said as they approached a manhole and Cole sighed
"Ugh, I hate snakes." Cole said

In the sewers a massive serpentine gathering takes place, the snakes chat with each other as Pythor gets ready
"You'll have to use more than words to bring the Serpentine together." Skales said as Pythor smiled
"All I have to do is show them the way." Pythor said as Acidicus approached
"They're ready for you Pythor." Acidicus said as Pythor emerged from atop of the subway trains
"Ah. Showtime." Pythor said as he faced the crowd with the other generals
"Friends, enemies and enemies who pretend to be friends. I welcome you." Pythor said as the snakes laughed
"That's a lot of snakes." Cole said as they watched from above
"What are we gonna do?." Jay asked
"I have an idea. Follow my lead." Kai said as they moved quietly
"And what is with the Constrictai and their vice-like grip? Let it go already." Pythor said as everyone laughed
"It's funny because it's so true." Fang-Seui laughed
"Heh, but in all seriousness, the real reason why I called this gathering is because... the good people of Ninjago imprisoned us in those insidious tombs, and I want to return them the favour." Pythor said as they all cheered, failing to notice Kai sliding down a rope from above
"That sounds like a great plan, but you know the Hypnobrai will screw it up." Kai said as Mezmo looked around
"Who said that?." Mezmo asked
"Those buck teeth can bite my rear end." Jay said as Spitta looked around
"Huh?."
"I bet they're drinking their own venom." Cole said
"All that digging must have given them dirt for brains." Zane said as more snakes got confused and angry
"Pythor is just using you, once he got what he wants, he's gonna forget about you all." (Y/N) said as the snakes got angry and started yelling and fight each other
"What's going on? Why am I losing them?." Pythor asked as Skales noticed Cole
"Ninja! Don't worry, I'll take care of it." Skales said as he commanded some Constrictai who followed through ninja
The Constrictai grab Kai, Cole and Jay
"Run!." Jay yelled
Zane and (Y/N) ran into a different tunnel, the duo come to a dead end, Zane and (Y/N) went to find somewhere to hide, Zane hid at a wall that was pink while (Y/N) joined him at the last second, the Constrictai looked at the wall before leaving
"Huh, I got lucky there." (Y/N) said as he saw he was hiding in a purple shirt on the wall just as Zane sighed in relief
"You and me both." Zane said
The Constrictai returned to Pythor
"Did you take care of them?." Pythor asked
"All but two." Skales said
"Search every nook and cranny. If there ninjas, you'll never find them in plain sight." Pythor explained
"Look, a pink and purple ninja!." Chokun yelled point at Zane and (Y/N) who swung across the three ninja cheering them
"Go pink and purple ninja, go!." They yelled as Zane freed them while (Y/N) got their weapons back
"Uh, now let's get out of here. Let us blow this popsicle stand, ninja! Go!." Zane yelled as they began to escape, Zane froze the floor preventing the snakes from getting them, he then created his ice mobile as they escaped
"Popsicle stand, haha, I like it!." Jay laughed as they escaped on Zane's snow mobile
Skales looked at Pythor who were skating
"You'll have to do better than that to unite the tribes." Skales said as his hands were on Pythors arm
"GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME!." Pythor yelled

Back on the bounty the ninja discuss what happened
"You know, whether it was in a lesson book or not, we used the destructive power of rumours to our advantage." Cole said
"And now the serpentine are further away than ever from getting their act together." Kai said
"You know, I don't think we would've gotten out of there if it hadn't been for Zane and (Y/N)." Jay said smiling
"Don't just thank us. Thank Lloyd, if it hadn't been for his laundry skills, we all would've been found." Zane said as everyone laughed just as Lloyd entered
"It took me twenty loads, but your suits no longer pink. And to show that I'm sorry, Cole I got you a can of nuts." Lloyd said holding up a can of nuts
"Uh, haha, yeah. Don't think I don't see what this is. When I open this, a bunch of snakes are gonna pop out, right? Yeah no thank you." Cole said as he walked to the fridge and opened it only for snakes to pop out as everyone laughs
Lloyd and (Y/N) high-fived
"Best prank idea ever." Lloyd smiled as (Y/N) smiled back
"I know right." (Y/N) said as they continued to laugh

Later that day (Y/N) trains on the deck outside while everyone else does there own things, he hears some footsteps and turns around to see Lloyd who approaches
"Hey Lloyd." (Y/N) smiled as Lloyd smiled back
"Hey (Y/N)." Lloyd smiled
"What brings you here?." (Y/N) asked as Lloyd smirked
"I got another prank idea." Lloyd said smirking as (Y/N) smirked back
"Alright, show me what you got little man." (Y/N) said as they moved inside, as they did (Y/N) they saw Kai gaming
"Oh man, how did Lloyd beat my high score?." Kai asked as he kept trying to pass Lloyd's level
The duo smirked at each other as they walked into the power room for the gaming room, Lloyd held a walkie talkie as (Y/N) got ready to press the button
"He's about to pass my high score, get ready."
(Y/N) smirked as he heard Lloyd tell him to push the button, he did so and they waited
"Yes I'm about to pass his high score, come on come on!." Kai smiled widely only for the Tv to shut off
"What?." Kai asked confused as he tried to turn the Tv on again
"No! No! Nooooooo!." Kai yelled falling onto his knees, the duo snickered before walking away
"I feel a little bad." (Y/N) said
"Hey no harm no foul." Lloyd chuckled as the duo laughed for a minute before calming down
"Alright I should go help Kai, see you later Lloyd." (Y/N) said as he walked back inside

Meanwhile in a dark realm, a dark figure with four arms stands on top of a mountain and begins to smile
"He grows stronger, I feel it, soon he will join me. Brother, and no one will stop us from making Ninjago into my image." The man said as he began laughing as lightning striked revealing it to be Lord Garmadon
